The Tree Man Cometh. Again

FPL Power Company keeps the trees off the easement power lines behind our house. the very top line is what they keep clear. 

Anything that touches the top line, they remove down to four feet below the line. They came in 2019 and again in 2022. Since 1989 they have cleared the top line and any trees that might grow and become a problem.   

The photo above is the same view taken this week. You can see the lines are in the tree.

 The top line is power the 2nd is cable/internet and they run to the weather head on our house, see insert.

for 33 years the power people kept that tree at bay off the lines.

Now they don't. They advised us the line from the pole to the house and the digital meter belong to us now and if there is a problem we will have to pay for it. They also advised for the sum of 7.99 a month we can purchase insurance to cover any damage.

My friend Jackie had a neighbor tree fall and take down the power line. It cost her 3000.00 to get it put back. 

 Bob  trimmed the tree each time it got to tall. the trees is a strangler fig, while young and called a banyan when it get 5 feet around.

Due to health issues Bob can no longer keep up with the property. The tree swallowed the entire line and if the wind blows will take out not only electric but the 2nd line is our INTERNET and cable. 

The cable guy replaced that line twice in 5 years because of the tree. We were advised if we lest the tree, there would be a charge to do it. 

Bob refused to allow me to hire the work done. . 

BTW, it's not our tree, it is on the neighbor's yard. I offered 2 years ago to share the cost, he said he has no money and is on disability and could not do it.

Because INTERENT and POWER are necessary for a decent life, I called my cousin and ask for a referral and they showed up the same day I called gave me a price that was 300 less than anyone else, agreed to take it to the top of the fence on Thursday the 17th.

 The good news is, the called on the morning of the 16th and asked if they could come do it, they needed to shift some work. I said YES! Awesome! Come Now.

they Did and the tree is Gone and I can rest easy about HEAT with no power and no internet and Bob without his TV.

From this to this. the tree will not die, but we can try to cut the new growth as it happens. The tree is embedded in the neighbors fence, which is what keeps our dog out of their yard. My next project is to nag bob into a new fence.

I asked him to be careful and try to keep the fence standing. He was awesome. it still stands, he climbed the pole to get in the neighbors yard to throw the limbs over to our yard as he cut them. I asked him later did he see raccoons, possums, squirrels or snakes, because that is where they live. The man on disability has no touched the yard in many years.

 Walling Tree Services is the best we have ever had. 3 men, 2 saws and it was done in a hour. 

They cleaned every single leaf and branch from the yard, blew debris off the pool deck, and even cleaned the leaves out of the pool. Non one of the other tree people did that.

Bob looked at the pool and said it looks better than it did before they came.

We have now over the past 10 years paid for the removal of 5 trees counting this one. We still have 5 more. We bought the house because we love trees, now we are OLD and wow is hindsight 20/20

Jungle is what happens if you can't keep up with the growth. our grow period is year round and requires a lot of money to hire it done or a body to do it. Until 2 years ago Bob kept it at bay with no problem. Until health issues hit. 5 years ago he would have removed this one himself, like he did a tree in the front yard that died.

We are thankful the tree is gone, the lines are clear and that we had the money to pay for it..

We are also thankful for all the years of beauty that we have had from all of our trees.

we love trees. they are worth it.

Madi's Mom caught the one edit I did on the photos from the tree removal. She asked in comments did I edit the photo because it looked like a Statue. I said, no, then thought a minutes and said Yes, I did some highlights on the man in the bucket. That inspire me to edit the two photos in PicMonkey

Through The Living Room Blinds 2

 

The crew finished trimming the oak and backed into the yard putting the mulch maker close to the tree and so they could lift the bucket up to trim the top of the tree.

Notice the shade they were working in. NOW GONE.

By lunch time they were working in 92 degrees feels like 100 in bright sun, because most of the trees were gone.

Here is the view now

the all wore sleeves that pulled up over the nose and a sleeve on the head pulled to the brows, safety sunglasses and helmets. The sawdust from the mulcher was like rain in the air.

I was afraid they would all have heat stroke, and twice took them ice cold watermelon to eat while they took a break.

The mouth yawned wide and roared Feed Me Now

The Men on the roof dropped the limbs one by one and the unlucky man on the ground 

fed the loud monster. I took these while they were on a break because I intended to come out of this with all my own limbs intact.

They asked permission to clear the oak limbs hanging low over the driveway and remove a limb off the Golden Rain Tree. Top photo is the rain tree in the middle of the yard.

It was blocking access for the wood mulching thingy on the back of the bucket truck

I pulled the blinds aside and took the first photo then tryed shooting through the blinds. 

All of these were taken from my chair in front of the window with me safe inside.Todays photos are the clearing of the two trees that I did not have to pay for, because they needed better access.

Monster Tree UP on The Roof

 

The tree removal required a man on the roof and a man in the bucket.

I stood safe in the back yard 75 feet away with the zoom.

It was like watching a dangerous high wire act at the circus.

I did not want to watch, and I wanted to. 

I did get a tad nervous when Tyler and Ramon rode two in the bucket up, up and away

Cutest Tractor Ever Seen

The two workers unloaded the cutest Tractor ever seen and tied a rope to the top of the big dead tree.

He sawed a wedge, and the tractor held the tree up and away from the house and

in a few second THUMP and down the tree went right where it needed to be.

In the Five Minutes it took for the tree to fall to the ground, she moved the heavy log that was left from the day before that had somehow ended up residing on the neighbor's grass.

The truck on bottom left above appeared and behold it had a MONSTER Claw for picking up 8 foot sections. The little tractor that could, moved the pieces to the curb, the claw that could picked them up and swung them around and down into the truck.

I could not get a good shot of the above, but it was the Baby tractor holding up slices of the stump, into the air and the big claw took the slice out of little claw one piece at a time. Total Time 2nd day 24 minutes and gone. IMPRESSED is what we were.

Plus, we had two days of entertainment that was better than any TV show made. I shamelessly hung out windows and doors snapping photos. Shocked??? bet you are Not.

Tree is DONE and Gone!

 

House 8 AM July 7, 2022

The crew arrived at 8:35 and left at 2:30 leaving this part of the tree.

The nicest guys ever. Hard Working and so Pleasant.

they left this giant stump because they did not realize how heavy and big around and did not have the proper equipment to finish it.

I would have been bummed about it, but was so relieved they and the noise was gone

we really did not care.

They promised either the other crew would come late afternoon or early am.

Next day, at 8:34 up pulled a truck and parked across the street.

A small truck, nothing that could pick up what was left, a man and a woman.

I asked are you taking down the rest of the tree and she said yes, we will take it down and another truck will pick it up from the curb.

I HAVE PHOTOS Ha ha

Off rolled the cutest little claw tractor, they tied the tree to the tractor and

10 minutes later it was DOWN.

20 minutes and 3 trucks later they were gone and 

the house looked like this.

The Good news is, they did a super fantastic job as promised

The Sad News is, they had to remove part of the golden rain tree to get the bucket truck in close.

This time of year, the sun is way up North. We face North, the trees were there because of Tropical SUNSHINE and now they are not, and the front of the house is being blasted with heat.

It does LOOK good though.

Do you think if I called Google, they would take another satellite photo to show on maps?

6 hours of noisy truck.

They had to leave this part and will come back today with a bigger saw and truck.

lots to tell and lots to show but to exhausted to think.

No worry about this falling on the house, but now we start the fret to find a roofer because the tree guy said the two bedrooms roof is spongy and

it needs to be fixed. Hello, stress, bring it on.

Trouble has found my coordinates and is locked on!

The three men that did the work were awesome, working quickly and so friendly and plus They All loved Dogs.

Monster Tree Cometh

 

Baby Owls have flown the coop Dead Tree and the Monster Tree Removal service was coming today. Tuesday 5th of July.

the Tree still stands, 

I got a call at 8, which was an hour after they were expected, 

3 of the crew called in sick with covid symptoms and could not work.

I said more likely 4th of July Hangover Symptoms

He said maybe.

Rescheduled for Thursday am, unless of course they do have covid is what he said.

I will spare you, but my thoughts are these

It's a big company, mine tree is a cheap tree at 1600.00

He was fitting me in, the impressions were if he canceled again, I might have to wait longer than I want to. The tree IS going to fall. Several limbs have fallen on the house in the last two weeks.

I have a feeling he is trying to back out and give me back my deposit.

Trees are BIG Business here. He may have a really big job he wants to take.

I am taking a few days off, the stress from the Tree and 4 nights of fireworks

has kicked my IBS in the butt, if you know what that means.

My Trust Issues say I will be once again looking for a tree person.

We will be back when things calm down.

4th of July was a horror of 6 hours of 8 families setting off all sorts of fireworks.

SIX HOURS, Beau did fine, I turned the TV on and he could sleep, I could not

I am going to relieve stress by attacking my To Do List.
