Monster Tree Cometh

Baby Owls have flown the coop Dead Tree and the Monster Tree Removal service was coming today. Tuesday 5th of July.

the Tree still stands,
I got a call at 8, which was an hour after they were expected,
3 of the crew called in sick with covid symptoms and could not work.
I said more likely 4th of July Hangover Symptoms
He said maybe.
Rescheduled for Thursday am, unless of course they do have covid is what he said.
I will spare you, but my thoughts are these
It's a big company, mine tree is a cheap tree at 1600.00
He was fitting me in, the impressions were if he canceled again, I might have to wait longer than I want to. The tree IS going to fall. Several limbs have fallen on the house in the last two weeks.
I have a feeling he is trying to back out and give me back my deposit.
Trees are BIG Business here. He may have a really big job he wants to take.
I am taking a few days off, the stress from the Tree and 4 nights of fireworks
has kicked my IBS in the butt, if you know what that means.
My Trust Issues say I will be once again looking for a tree person.
We will be back when things calm down.
4th of July was a horror of 6 hours of 8 families setting off all sorts of fireworks.
SIX HOURS, Beau did fine, I turned the TV on and he could sleep, I could not
I am going to relieve stress by attacking my To Do List.
Look for me when you see me.

So sorry that your stress level is through the roof.
I do hope the tree guys come on Thursday. Dead trees aren't good for your house.
Hugs and prayers

I'd like to say, "Oh no, he wouldn't do that." But ya, my spidey senses think your suspicions are spot on. Hoping we're both wrong!
... meanwhile, please take good care of yourself. I'm going to miss you!

The Mad One is back, and in mid-day as well! I am so glad the babies left before the tree cutting!! Trees are big business here as well; we actually live in an area called Tree streets, and all the streets are named after the trees that are on that street. Such as Maple, Locust, Pine, Cherry, Locust. Stay aways from the men when they come!! In case they do have mild Covid and are working anyway.

P.S. I LOVE YOU hanging out with the critters in the tree!!

Why do 'service providers'not understand the service part of the contract they enter into with us?....or even understand that it IS a contract and there are terms, like turn up on the agreed day, at the agreed time, to do the agreed work, for the agreed price. Anything else is a breach of contract. I would have thought that in your litigious society the risk that the dead tree might fall on you, your house, or someone else during the time they don't perform the agreed contract to make it safe would be enough incentive in itself to keep them attentive to the agreed job.
We hope the fireworks, the tree and all the other s*** get sorted out real soon and life's bumps level out a bit. Some months it feels like it's all uphill, with additional obstacles to negotiate en route.

Take your time Sandra… we’ll miss your lively posts but understand .some things can’t be rushed.

If they do let you down is there a trader’s association you can complain to?

Certainly we understand that you need some time to hopefully de-stress, Sandra. Taking time for ourselves if the most important thing we can do for ourselves, and far too often we do not. Take good care of you and everyone, Bob and Beau.

Blogging break, high stress levels, time to count to 10 and pay attention to health...most important!!

Oh Sandra what a disappointment. I hope and pray he shows up on Thursday. I removal is $$$ but I suspect he has bigger and more trees to make more $$$ but he needs to remember referrals are his best form of advertisement

Oh boy! Sorry to hear about this. Hope you feel better real soon. The prices charged for trees coming down are unreal. We found that when we had our two removed last year. I hope these guys will do the job for you. We had more neighborhood fireworks this year, and close by. I kept hoping one wouldn’t land on our roof as it was so loud, and looking outside there was so much smoke from them and you could smell it inside the house. I hope people were kind enough to turn on the TV like you did for dear Beau. Hope you feel distressed by now.
