It's Sunday Selfie Time

Hi, its selfie Sunday and I have not taken any current pictures of myself, well, because I do have a mirror.

I took these today, August 3, 2024 and its only 33 days from my 80th birthday. I know you are thinking I have no wrinkles and such beautiful skin. NOT true. Samsung has a smoothing filter that automatically does this when in selfie mode. I snapped ME, I showed you a little of the jungle growth, then looked down and saw the rose moss and ferns.

then I sat on sofa with Ipad and blurred the background behind my perfect smooth face, then removed the background, and played for an hour trying to do a tutorial of DIGITAL ART  . I forgot to start with DIGITAL ART is Trending. Go ahead, google digital art is trending. WOW~

Then I got frustrated and well,,, here you go.

I did not finish the tutorial.
but I did scribble on it. Just for you.
By the way, we ate out at Golden Corral Friday, and the cute BABY BOY waiter said what drinks can i get you? I said Oh I forgot to tell her when I paid, he said its changed, all Seniors get free drinks with meals, for 11.99 and I bring you your choice. He winked and said its because Seniors are Special. I said Well I might be really special because I will be really old in a few days, as in 80. He said, REALLY? you look like your 60...  (note: the comment was before the tip)
When we left, he said to Bob, I told her she looks 60, but you I am saying 55.
Bob laughed we all laughed and when we got outside, Bob said, what did he say? I did not understand a word he said...at least he laughed like he knew
Talk about really OLD
PS if i get brave, I will take a selfie with the iPhone. it shows wrinkles.

Window World- generator

We are once again in a chapter of  Window World, our version of Rear Window the movie.
Our view is the house of 7 cars and Big Guy, he once weight 400 lbs. and now is less than 250, thus the name, gave us a couple of hours of entertainment. They rarely do anything outside, pay to have grass cut and I was shocked while doing dishes and said Hey, Big Guy is up to something. He dragged out a small generator, jockeyed cars around and back and forth putting air in tires, hoods and trunks went up and down and we watched amazed because we have never in 3 years seen anyone do anything outside.

Bob is not in the phot, but he was while I was cooking and doing WIFE stuff in kitchen.
Bob, look, he has a ladder,
Bob, he came out with a CHAIN SAW!
Look! and I walked to the window, HE"S trimming the hedge! and back to the kitchen
BOB! look! he's putting the ladder under the tree, this got Bob to stand up, we watched as he climbed 4 steps high and stood on the TOP reaching over his head to cut limbs. This man is ill, as in at Christmas was in hospital for 30 days.
We go back to TV/kitchen and I said LOOK! he dragging out a bigger ladder!
We both stood at the window, I prepared to call 911.
Alas! he went inside.
An hour later, while passing through living room between Bob and TV I said, Big Guy just put the generator ON THE CURB and hung a sign on it. I run for the camera, zoom in and it says FREE, needs work. We walk over to look at it, Bob says he can fix anything. In the past, before he was 87.
We try to move it and it will not budge. I said forget it, we don't need it, you are to old to fix it or move it.
OUT COMES Big Guy! we chat, he says what it needs and I said we can't move it, so we don't need it, HE says if you want it i have a roller mover and you can have that, he goes in the house, Bob and I squabble like children I DON"T WANT THE THING AND WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I SAW IT?
Above is the dead generator. Big Guy and Bob pushed it through traffic and left it in front of the garage. It sat there all night. I came home from shopping and there it was IN the garage, in the corner that has had junk in it since 1989 when we moved in that has never been moved. He SAT on a BUCKET for 2 hours trying to get fix it and could not figure out why he had so much pain the next day.
I may have said to Bob, yet another thing I will have to pay someone to move out of the garage if you
GO FIRST!!!

Blame this Post on Myra

Photo above take in my mirror, below edited in PicMonkey

You can blame this post on Myra's post, at Respice, Prospice and also on the fact I have not a lot to report on other than riding around taking pictures of houses.  Follow the link to see what stirred me up.

If you know me well, you KNOW I always, always take it to extremes.
Yam do not go past the black and white, strobe lights below it.

All you need is love!

WHAT???? 30 steps away from the Autumn Aisle, they were loading these on the shelves, the garden shop was full of CHRISTMAS, on Sept 16,2023

I wonder how they got my hubby to pose for this doll.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB, TODAY IS HIS 87TH BIRTHDAY.
and I ate your Cake and Ice Cream

I am wondering if there is anyone who could stand to pass up the chance to have a Farmer Santa in their home. Or for that matter a Florida Santa?

Two Florida Santas, from 1988, arrived in the box of photos my brother sent to me this week.

Our 2nd Christmas with Max, our 4th Christmas with each other, and we bought the red hats and shirts, to ride in the 78 Corvette in the evenings to look at Christmas Lights. We got lots of looks and greetings and waves! Fond Memories from the box of photos.
These photos were mailed to my parents in Savannah, Ga and true to mothers nature she saved everything.

Hearts for Annie

Bob sat eating his bowl of Cheerios and said while holding out his spoon towards me.

LOOK, I found a heart in my cheerios.

I took it to admire it and we discussed we had never seen a heart in it before, it must be a mistake. He continued to eat and I watched as he picked up 3 hearts on one spoon.

I said you have two more hearts. Hooting Annie would love this, I will have to do a post. Bob said who is Hootin Annie, I gave my standard answer when I talk about all of you at one time or another.

She is a blogger friend.

He always shakes his head and says, you talk about them like they are real friends. YOU ARE, just so you know.'

OOPS Mad Chatter took over.  Any whoo, I jumped up and grabbed the box of Cheerios out of the cabinet and we both started to laugh.. All Three side of four had words and pictures of hearts.

This was NOT a new box; it was half eaten. How did we both eat half a box of cereal and NOT see the hearts?

Pizza

We love Hungry Howies Pizza Buffet. I had pepperoni pizza, both thick and thin crust and a bowl of broccoli cheese soup. I love their soup, it doesn't love me, but I ate it anyway.
I used the depth setting on photo above on the iphone.

No matter how grumpy Bob looks, he loves to go there. He can't hear a word I say, so we just sit and eat, and he stares into space, while I People Watch.
Wow at the sights I see, none of which he sees at all.
Have I ever told you, I will not sit facing a wall, with my back to the room?
I must sit facing out, towards the other people, towards the door.
No I am not  a CIA agent, I just love watching PEOPLE!
What fun is staring at a wall.
Wee the top right of collage below for My View and yes that is MY plate.
We take pieces of crust to Beau! and he is thankful for Pizza and so are we.

Bee in my bonnet 2

!

I left you in a prior post by saying I told Bob I wanted this desk and the dog crate
out by the curb.
The desk was too much for us to carry and he said we will just have to take it apart.
That was Weeks Ago!
AHA! I can take it apart and take it piece by piece to the curb.
First the top lifted easily, the drawer I had to womanhandle with ugly words but got it out.
Two Weeks Later
I decide to try my trick that always worked in the past and start taking it apart and he will get aggravated and come do it for me.
Armed with a Phillips screwdriver, I removed 12 long screws.
Nothing came off.
I may have said a few loud not so nice words, and The Man came to see why.
He said there are Hex Screws in it, I remember using the Allen Wrench.
I got the flashlight, and found 22 Caps, I pried them off and
there they were. He handed me an Allen wrench

I removed all 22 Hex Head and with my little hammer, tried to knock the parts loose.
BANG! BANG! nothing came apart.
I hear the words float down the hall, What the Hell are you doing now?
Really? Thirty minutes ago, you handed me an Allen wrench
the screws are out but it will not come apart.

You need a hammer he yells down the hall.
I have a hammer, I yell back.
He walks in and says, Thats not a hammer
And comes back with a mini sledgehammer
Use this! he says
I lift it and it is so heavy I can hardly swing it, and nothing comes loose

Finally, He takes the hammer and bashes it all to pieces.
He seemed Angry, but then I knew he would.
We start to carry pieces, even broken up we can each only carry two pieces.
He is ranting about having to pay 10 dollars to get it picked up
I say IF YOU HAD DONE IT WHEN I ASKED IT would be picked up free.
(July 3rd is when it went from free to 10 collars)
There is more but Nuff Said!
On the way back to the house I say
Can we try to get the dog crate to the curb?
NO! he yells and neighbors cringe inside their homes.
I leave him outside and start to clean up 20 years of grime that was under/behind it.
He storms in and starts yanking on the crate.
I say, you said no, he says, I changed my mind!

The crate is 30 plus years old. The latches are frozen in place.
Nuff Said about that.
we finally got it to the curb, it was folded up like a suitcase, a 100-pound suitcase.
He leaned it against the power pole by the curb and
I went in the bedroom to DEAL with the MESS,
You will never see a photo of the MESS.
OH, MY WORD!
Bob yelled down the hall,
A man in a truck just picked up the dog crate, Its Gone.

Sunday Selfie ETC

My son sends me things he does on his phone, I learn so much by asking him how he did it. I received a text, you will see it on Tuesday and he mentioned he did it with slow motion on his phone. He doesn't have an iPhone and niether do I so I figured if his does it mind would. Phooey. it does NOT!

But I am happy because I sat with the cell camera and in the area he told me to look Wow, I found
MUCHO STUFF .
One is the above selfie of Bob, maybe call it a Takie since he refuses to touch a cell phone, I found an icon that says ratio, who knew.
I can take a square pic, above is out of the camera.
Plus there are three other sizes than portrait or landscape.
don't fret now, there will be another post on 3 sizes.

Also I poked an Icon that offered to let me use the edit thingy BEFORE I snap the photo, all the filters that I have been adding after I take a photo can be viewed and decide if you like it before you take it.

I give you Classic Black and White filter with Classic (judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind.)MadSnapper taken while sitting in the new old chair taking "takies" of Bob
and selfies of ME. Yes, plural selfies is right, I deleted them all but one

Two Chairs and Albert and Costello part 2

The curb from the front door

continued from prior post yesterday
I stepped in the door and told Albert Bob, I have a chair in the car.
WHAT? what kind of chair?
The one that is replacing that chair, pointing to the 100 pound rocker, says Costello Sandra

the chair that needed to be at the curb

How did you get it in the car?
I didn't, 2 old men and an old lady put it in.
Albert starts throwing out questions
How do you think we can get that rocker out to the curb? it weighs 100 lbs.
How will we get the new chair in the house?
Cotello said, well come out and look at it, as I was struggling to drag the rocking rocker chair out of the spot in order to clean years of dust and dirty because we could not move it to vacuum.

He grabs it by the arms as I scream Wait It Rocks when you pick it up!
to late, it rocked a hole in his shin bone.

Albert grits his teeth, his face turns red, as he manhandles it to the middle of the floor, grabs it by the arms and staggers ON HIS NEW KNEE to the front door screaming kindly asking me to open the door.

Costello is yelling you can't carry it that far, PUT IT DOWN!
Beau STAY, BEAU STAY, the door is wide open.
Albert yells he will not go anywhere
Costello yells, HE WILL if the Door is open.
The Chair is on the front porch, the curb is 75 feet away, Albert and Costello are weak and old .
Costello says we need to lock the rocker, then we can each take a side.
Albert yells we need a stick to lock it.
Costello heads for the garage and Albert is yelling where are you going?
Costello comes back Waving The Mop.
Albert yells, push it through the slot. Costello Does that
Albert Yells NOT THAT ONE, the other one
Costello says What other one?
Finally it is locked and can't rock.
Each of us grabs both hands on the end of the mop, and lift, not to bad mumbles Costello.
We stutter step SLOWLY groaning and moaning and finally sit i down at he curb.
Costello goes in the house while Albert screams WHERE ARE YOU GOING NOW?
I come back out with the rocking foot stool that has been in the closet so long he forgot it was there. Since he never gets his clothing from the closet he hasn't seen it. He prefers his clothing on chairs and door knobs.
Costello receives a matching bruise to her shin bone from the rocking foot stool.
The NEW chair is still in the car.
Albert Mumbles, we will never get it out, we will never get it in the house
Costello yells we CAN it doesn't weigh as much as the other one,
We wrangle it down onto the driveway and each pick up one arm and slowly walk it in the house and sit it down in the spot. I start moving it around, moving the table,
Albert says what are you doing, it is sitting where the other one was.
Costello says, I have to decide if I like it slanted or want i straight!
He says it does't matter it is where the other one was.
I say it MATTERS TO ME because it will Bother Me if I don't like where it is.
I finally sit in it and demostrate it swivels 380 degrees, demonstrate how I can sit with phone or chromebook on lap and he says are you going to tell me how much it cost?
YES!!!!! FORTY DOLLARS
he says FORDY DOLLARS? I said a new one starts at ONE THOUSAND AND TWENTY ONE!
I paid more for Beaus new Kong Bed than this chair!
He said WHAT????? he has no idea what the KONG bed costs and never will.
His last question is why did you want that one..
Here you go, I bet most of you can guess why THIS ONE?

Of course you guessed. It Matches. I it black leather and wood, as is everything in the living room, it's comfy and swivels and it since it is not new, but old new, it fits in with our old furniture.

I did not tell him I have been researching the cost of sectionals with chaise on line.....

Two Chairs and Albert and Costello part 1

the old chair I hated

The new old chair that sits where the old old chair sat

The chair I Hated, the fake leather was cracked,  and the rocker thingy kept snapping.
I paid 75 dollars for it in a thrift store about 20 years ago.
I knew in my head what I wanted, but when I checked the prices what I wanted did not add up to what I could afford to pay...
Tuesday morning I headed to UPS Store to return and Amazon pkg.
I realized I was one block from my favorite thrift store.

the reason it is my favorite is it belongs to the local Hospital and all the Board members donate to it and the merchandise is always great.
I got Bob a 60 dollar bag to use for the YMCA for 3 dollars. My leather bag for tops was a 120 dollar bag for 4 dollars.
It is my go to when I have a NEED, I do not wander thrift stores. I thought, they will not have a chair like I want but I will run in and check.
Straight to the furniture store AND THERE IT SAT!

I peaked at the price and nearly hurt myself rushing to the front to tell them I want that chair, afraid someone else would grab it.
Cashier said to other cashier, how do we sell the furniture:
She said push that bell 3 times and she told me to go back and stand by the chair, I laughed and thought I will sit in it till they come, no one is getting that chair.
It had called my name from a block away.
A really old guy came and wrote me a ticket and said go up front and pay, drive around back to the Pickup sign. I said I can't buy it if you can't get it in my SUV.
He handed me the ticket and walked out the back door, kind of like talking to Bob.
Did he hear me and ignore me or just not hear me.

Two really old guys and a really old gal, about my age, ha ha, popped out the door and the chair was sitting on the drive way.
The guys were Bob's Brothers by other Mothers.
One said it will not fit, the other said yes it will, they got it in but the door would not close, the woman climbed in the back seat pulling and tugging and I listened to the two Bobs  bicker over if it would or not close.
on the 3rd time the man said, it will not close I heard, BAM!
The Door Closed! I had it...........
to be continued.

Bedtime Charades Wordy Wed

When we go to bed each night, I am always in bed first, and when Bob comes from his bathroom he is STONE Deaf. He removes his hearing aids and is GONE. If a serial killer breaks in it is Beau and Me to handle it.

We use sign language and a form of Charades to talk if I need to tell him something.

We are in a drought and it is RARE to hear thunder. Even with hearing aids in, he can only hear the BAM that is right over the house and makes the windows shudder.

A couple of weeks ago, just as he laid down, there were 2 loud claps of thunder. I wanted him to know

I waved my hand in the air to get his attention and when he lifted his head I pointed straight up, and clapped my hands together and did the BOOM by spreading my hands in the air.

He said Thunder? and I gave him a thumbs up. We both laughed. this is common for us.

Last night just as he laid down, someone set off a cherry bomb next door. Beau jumped to his feet and gave 2 loud barks!

Bob said did he bark? I YELLED Fireworks! He said WHAT? after screaming Fireworks at the top of my lungs 3 times and him shaking his head he could not get it, I pretended to light something and throw it in the air and did the wide arm BOOM signal.

He said Fireworks? I gave the thumbs up.

We both started to laugh and could not stop. I told him this morning why I could not stop.

I thought about the neighbors next door, pondering why I was screaming

Fireworks! Fireworks! Fireworks!

As if no one new what the sound was.

Last week, we had 18 sprinkles of rain at midnight and the Bong! Bong! Bong! of rain dripping off the roof on to the plastic jug HE left under the dripline, under the bedroom window. I went out in the drizzles in the dark with a flashlight to move the DRUM!

It occurred to me, if I fell in the mud outside, even though I would be under the bedroom window, 4 feet from his head, I would lay there all night until he got up and missed me not in the bed.

Where She Was/What She Did

In the mall, in 1985 I paid $5.00 to have this photo taken with the baby Lion, held him all of 60 seconds.

We both had a PLAN for Saturday.
Bob's PLAN started at 4:30, which was fill the pool, brush/vac/curse the pool to remove black sand from drought that filled the pool with black sand.
He said we can't wait any longer for rain to put water in the pool, I will have to use the hose and pay for the water.
Yes it was dark, he used the back yard floodlights and who knows how many neighbors heard
the cursing of said pool.
Remember this... No rain for many months. Nada! Not One Drop!

MY PLAN for Saturday also started at 4:30 AM
Attack The Cabinet under the Nook where the Photos from a lifetime are stored along with various other things that fall out when I open the door.
4:30 AM placed chair in front of cabinet and remove 30 plus albums
4:35 AM Open first Album and page through photos.
5 AM stop paging take Beau Out to do his business
5:15 AM paging
5:30 eat breakfast
6 AM while paging tell Beau we will walk at 6:15 the same as we do every day
6:18
The Rain Began! First a nice drizzle, Yay! and Bob kept working
I kept paging through photos
6:25 Beau goes to door, let him out, he walks out in rain and back inside, he hates rain.

The Top Shelf is still spilling and bulging.
The Rain Never Stopped, Bob kept cursing and working, I kept paging
Took Beau out 4 times to prove it was still raining.
At 10 it slowed to a light drizzle, I took Beau out in the drizzle and we hit the road, it wasn't bad, we walked half way and IT STARTED TO REALLY RAIN.
Came home dried off Beau and myself, hung my wet clothes in shower
and
BOOM! Flash! Boom!
BOB ITS THUNDERING I YELL, he can't hear thunder.
He yells I KNOW! I am going to finish this, I am almost done
I can't decide whether to pray the lightning hits him or doesn't! MEN!
I kept paging. and paging and looked at the last photo at 11:30 and had done nothing but look at photos.
Bob came in and dried off, I put all the albums back in the cabinet and closed the doors.
the cabinet looked the same as when I started.
Day One of The PLAN. Bob did his, I did not,
But I did find photos I had forgotten we have and you may or may not be flooded with Throwback Photos a LOT!
P.S. I ordered Pizza Delivered, Paging through albums is hard work
What she did, to be continued
Valentine Day 1985, 6 days after we got married. Bob, Me and Skip, my 1st cousin. Skip was the joker in our family. He passed away mid 2020 and I missed his funeral due to the pandemic. He was 58

Bob and I at my son Dan's 18th Birthday party. 1985

Conversation Where I can Find it

Leaving for our walk, we discussed in depth the house of 7 cars, now 4, had hung 7 throw rugs out on the porch railing. the point was trying to decide if they were people rugs or dog rugs, and why they were on the rail not on the line in the backyard.

Next we discussed where the 2 rabbits that lived in the 2 trucks and 1 car house. were they eaten? given away or are they locked in cages.

Bob ranted about the SAME thing he Rants about every single day we walk, which is 365 days a year.

The fact the man has 2 trucks, 1 van and a huge boat in his front yard. he then discusses that 20 years ago, the woman who is dead now, reported Bob for having a small boat in the driveway and he had to sell it.

I KID YOU NOT, every day is groundhog day.

I came home and gave him this report from my ALONE walk with no one talk to.

I step in the door and the first thing out of my mouth is.......

"The 20 somethings that live in the brown house and never speak, came up behind me with their dog, and did not move over or warn me they were there."

"I turned to look at the house that burned because 2 dogs barked from there and when I looked over my shoulder to make sure I was safe from the crazy drivers, I  was right in the faces of the couple that NEVER speaks."

"Maybe they hate old people."

"You know, the house that burned?  there are 2 cars and 2 young people that look to be barely out of their teens, have moved in the house that is not finished yet. I forgot to tell you that about 2 weeks ago

the first time I saw the green jeep there, I saw a Boy come  outside in his PJ's shorts, wet a wash cloth at the outside faucet and go back in the house.  I think they might be grandkids, maybe house sitting or maybe they are camped out in there. No electric, the commones are sitting in the garage. How can they live there like that?

Guess what Bob said????

NOTHING! AT! ALL!

 I said Well??

He said  WHAT!!!!

I said NEVERMIND.....

He said What did you say???   I said REALLY????

The Art of Love & Bickering

My husband and I bicker constantly..Think Archie/Edith Bunker

A FEW things on our   Bicker List:

Thermostat.

Me: I am HOT it is 79 degrees in here
He: 79 is NOT hot, I am comfortable, my legs are even a little cold
Me: I am turning on the AC, I am sweating like a pig here
He: go get in the pool
Me: I don't want to get in the pool, that does no good to be cool while in the pool and hot in the house
Fast forward 20 minutes..
He: its is freezing in here, my legs are cold.
Me: it is only 76, that is NOT cold, it is comfortable.

DRIVING: I will not ride with him behind the wheel..

HE: turn the wheel, turn it sharp, cut the wheel. are you listening?
ME: no, I am not listening,I  have been driving for 60 years, I  think I know how to cut the wheel... what do you think I do when you are not with me?
HE: You never listen to a word I say, NEVER
ME: Then why do you keep saying them, you know I don't listen.

POLITICS:

I will keep this private but believe me the neighbors probably know our differences (beside if I put it here you might start bickering with me)

TV VOLUME:

ME: The TV is so loud I can't read my book, the sound is coming over what I am reading.
HE: That is because the sound goes down the hall and you can hear it better than I can.
ME; Right! I can hear better than you so the LOUD TV is hurting my ears.

 TV NEWS:

He: That man is guilty as sin..
Me: you say that without knowing anything but what the media says..
He: The facts say he is guilty
Me: not the Facts, what the media says are not facts...they are opinions
(I will spare you the rest as this can go on for 10 minutes)

We have an on going Bicker about the idiot  man who landed his gyro-copter on the Capitol lawn ( I leave you to guess which of us thinks he is and idiot)

By now you are tired of reading and if I put all our bickers here, Blogger might implode....

That Said........ We still love each other and when things get HOT and I don't mean the Thermostat, I always think...

What if he were not here?

Who would I talk to, laugh with, poke fun at clothing on TV shows, point out the faults on contestants/judges on reality shows with,

Who would pull the thorn out of my foot and cut my hair?
There would be no one to LAUGH with or at and no one to open jars and cut grass and bathe dogs...protect me when things go bump in the night?

PLUS how could I DRIVE without instructions?
and last but not least, our income would be cut in HALF
think about that when things get hot...

Bickering is OK with me
