Tommy Turtle and the Five Brushes

 

Abstract brushes are my favorite, there are many besides this one

These are all practice of using procreate brushes. Each set is one brush and can be changed in size and shape by dragging the side bar back and forth. I show you this so you will know what I use to do my copy cat doodles  of  Ann's Doodles by markers.

I drew an oval, I drew a 2nd one on another layer, then five ovals, because I needed to follow a tutorial on how to shade and give depth and a few other things I will not name. The artist doing the tutorial, used a crab, I deleted my crab and did not finish it... then did the oval thing.. 

at least I now know my lifelong desire to be an artist will never happen. I  used 5 brushes and 5 layers. If you know Photoshop, you will get the layer part.

 My inspiration failed, the fish is to Big and I forgot to use layers and could not fix it... Learning Layers again, I used them in Photoshop but that was years ago.

I consider the 2nd one better... Learning One Day at a Time

Sticker JOY

 

Still learning Ipad STUFF... I can swipe up like the red arrow shows,with the digital pen to snip the screen.

 I learned how to create my own stickers. They have a lot of cute ones, and it offered me the create your own and you know I DID.. I made Beau and the Kittens into stickers and the little ME the MadSnapper and when I save it, somehow it shows up in the stickers on my phone.

These are all totally useless except for the joy of playtime and creating them. I will never use them but who cares.

The Accidental Movie

 

Above is a video I made my accident. Play it and it is a recording of the screen recorder, well, recording. NOTE, the only thing moving is the blinking pink dot...

 I was poking apps and following the manual for beginners on iPads and it said Swipe down from top right corner to find the short cut widget. 

I swiped down from the top right corner of above and the cutest bestest widget was

hiding in plain sight. Apple is expert at hiding things we need to use.

The widget below in top right corner has all the short cuts to all the stuff I use

alarm, scanner, timer, camera, screen brightness, sound, what ever you want there you can add it.

I know this is boring, I can't help myself. Trust me, the new will wear off and something else will takes its place

I poked each item to see what it does, then I added a couple by following the manual and then I notice the pink button with a round dot and poked it.

I thought it did nothing. but then I realized it was 

The Screen Recorder and that it had recorded the mini video at the top..

this is how I learn new stuff and create POO posts. (perfectly ordinary object)

DON'T FRET, I have plans to do a PROPER screen recording just for you.

I am thankful for the iPad a friend gifted me, I am thankful my brain works and I can play with it, I am thankful for the friends that will stick by me when I write boring posts.

Doodle, Doodle, Dooooo

Hi, I'm Back! You don't have to guess what I did on my day off, but here is a clue for you.

I practice Doodling on my iPad!

No crayons, glue, rulers needed. I did have a digital pen and digital eraser!

 

My day Off! I sang doodle, doodle doo, doo, doo , doo.. sing that like the good the bad and the ugly song. I did. I am learning to doodle with digital pen, and I love it. I used the Procreate App

I liked the black and white, as in pen and paper, then the video I watched how how to drag color where you want it. and you know the rest of the story. Still can't save and upload but I am really good at 

screenprint, just drag my finger up front the left corner and BOOM 3 screen prints

When I got back I saw my doodle pal Ann had showed here Real Life Doodle Skills. Dont you think her doodle has a similarities to mine? If you doodle, I dare you to do a pot and how us your skills

Garage Band whoo hoooo

 I now have my own Garage Band. 

 Meet my lead singer. HE HE HE... 

Nope, that is THIS VIDEO, on YouTube that I am using to learn how to play in my own band which is all IN MY IPAD!

While poking all the apps I saw this  and Poked it! 

I nearly expired from Joy, the piano came up and back in the distant day, I played a little by ear only, don't know a note.

The app has 6 or more pianos, including Baby Grand and electronic pianos. 

I played twinkle, twinkle and amazing grace and she'll be coming round the mountain. one finger only

6 different drums sets, and 2 instuments from middle east that i don't know what they are. I love drums, all drums, and if I hold down 2 fingers on one drum it plays 2 beats and slide my fingers side ways and it get  louder and changes. i have no clue what i am doing but it sure is fun

its a whole band in a tiny tablet

and the most fun of all it has every string instrument except NO HARP.

I played with the violins until Bob was about to pull his hair out.

and 6 different guitars. I can't seem to upload the mp4 music I made, blogger doesn't know about it I guess but am searching for info on how to do that.

I played for THREE Hours off and on. I would put it down and go back and get it.

The orange things above, each one is 4 notes and all the chords that go with them.

ECSTATIC IN FLORIDA.

I am hoping it will let me play without wi-fi, will check to see. I could play if we lose power/internet. 

It even has 6 fake bands that will play or sing.

Blogger will not allow upload of the recording. so far I think I found a way to let you hear my new song. I laid the iPad on the bed and used my cell phone to video record the sound. It may be loud, be careful

Copy Cat, Copy Cat 1

 

If you Follow Ann's SnapEditScrap blog you will recognize her doodles above. A few days ago in this POST Line Doodles I told her I am as always jealous of her doodle/drawing skills. I loved the doodle so much I decided to be a Copycat and since I can't draw a straight line, I give you my version of her doodles created by MAD Snapper in NOTES app on my iPad. I named the file, ANN.

Where there is a will, there is a Way.

There are several more blog friends that cause jealousy over their drawing skills so watch out, you might be a victim of Copycat soon. This was great practice in learning edits in Notes.. harder than it looks.

iPad Notes has been conquered!

 

I have now conquered adding photos and writing in notes and taking screen shots and practiced writing and you can see below, a list I wrote and after practice wrote it again. Much Better

the thing is if we don't use something, we lose it. I stopped writing my post by hand, because it was easier to type them in note pad and copy paste. Now I will go back to writing on pad to keep my skills up. I also found lack of writing by pen, made me lose my spelling skills. typing doesn't matter, just right click on squiggle.

Above is screenshot and writing with digital pen on it after I finally looked up SAFARI and asked for help with it and found of all things, A Manual from Apple, it's easy to read, find things, answers questions and I love the manual.

😉should have started there.... if struggling to do something builds brain cells, I must have a million more

I wrote this with the digital pen on the freeform app iPad and found I have forgotten how to print or write cursive and have scheduled a practice session with myself to sit and write on paper

I wanted to try to create a blog post on iPad, and downloaded blogger app and got so upset with it I deleted that puppy, before I threw the iPad in the pool 

Who Knew? I don't need the app, Safari lets me do it just like Chrome lets me do it.  Steep learning curve on Safari.

I created this POST in blogger on my iPad by talking to it and typing some and by adding photos just like I do on my desktop we shall see what we shall see! IT IS A ROYAL PAIN because it is so slow but I did it and if I fall down and break something I can blog from bed👍👍👍😊😊😊💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️

 I think Apple felt me struggling and offered the manual for download. he he he

Freeform First Try..

 

Two weeks, one day, after biopsy that found Squamous Carcinoma AKA Volcano Cancer

You can see it is not healing well. You can also see the painful varicose veins and that the volcano is right on top of one of the biggest of them all.

Instructions were, to aleve pain, prop your feet up when sitting, 30 minutes twice a day, lay with feet above your heart, this mean bed, we own no recliner.

 Doc says exercise, heat/ice/bruise cream with chestnut because I can't stand to wear the hose. 

Some of you  might remember the ottoman that was moved to the curb last week. I got creative.

 Monday, I dragged the kitchen step stool tot my end of the sofa, piled STUFFuntil it was the right height, had bob measure the height. The hunt is on for a footstool. 

I placed my kindle reading pillow desk in my lap and the iPad fits perfectly. 

I started POKING icons that came in the device, to see what they do... WOOT! WOOT!

This one is called Freeform. I wrote my name and drew a heart with my finger, yet another WOOT!

and I dragged and dropped and drew and well, Played like I used to as a child. 

from 5 years old, I loved to Draw, color, cut, paste, read and write! all on one little screen. 

At my age I have reverted to a younger age and now am fast approaching childhood again.

I could not find a way to save my ART except to save as PDF and SHARE by link with whomever. I want to put it on my blog, not send someone a link.. I found Apple Support and they said get over it, this will not save as anything but PDF, just do a screen print. 

While playing I read a post from, Ann of SnapEditScrap that gave me the answer. Ann's  POST and she had made a drawing on paper and wanted it on her blog, so she simply aimed the cell at it and it became a jpeg...OY Vey! 

Yes, I know this is tacky and not true ART but why make a beautiful creation if  I can't post it. Now that I know I can add a sticker giraffe, and draw with the digital pen I ordered to Play with, you KNOW What is coming.

Steep Learning Curve Ahead!

I knew there was a steep learning curve when I received the iPad, never having even touched and iPad before. 

Dreading the set-up, fearing my senior brain might explode, I turned it on and it said

HELLO, I am hear to help you with your new iPad and several taps later in the set up I read these words!

I have detected an iPhone, you may put that close to the iPad and they will marry* each other and all your information will be automatically transferred.

It Worked and what a wedding it was. They merged info from phone to tablet and all my apps that I downloaded of games and I spied Insta-toon and PicCollage, everything appeared like

magic in the new iPad. 

A marriage of convenience MY convenience. I I did all the hard work 16 months ago when I struggled with the phone. thank you Bing Designer for the wedding of my life....

** note: the words it said might not have been married, but it was the same thing, they met, they matched, the melded, ...............................I found something was missing...

Not a single contact to be found in the iPad. OyVey

I will spare you the agony and brain power expended, but it said I DO and I did,and the contacts  moved with all their siblings into the new wedding cottage.

I have a NEW iPad, Generation 9 ! My first ever new Apple Product. I do own the iPhone 7 above, which was a gift from a friend, when she got her new phone. It has been 18 joyous months since she gifted me her pre-used iPhone to use as a camera and also as a mini Wi-Fi computer.  (you may remember my excitement).

April 25th I received an email from her stating she had ordered an iPad, and Amazon would deliver it the next day. It turns out she was concerned because I did not post or read blogs, due to the fact I had to prop up my legs due to varicose veins and a skin cancer removal on top of one of the veins. She decided I needed and iPad to use in bed. In other words, she was assuring the MadSnapper would be In Business sharing my brilliant mind with one and all.... Now I have NO EXCUSE! 

In my PRIOR POST yesterday, I asked this question. Can you guess what I am doing? Laying in Bed Where I am? In my bedroom. Why am I doing it? TEST run on propped up in bed with legs up on pillow, Playing with my new IPAD.

NOW you know the answers and Boy Do I Have Things to tell you...So Many it will take a dozen Posts. Maybe as many as to show you houses, HA HA... I do solemnly promise NOT that many and not all in one week.
