Breaking News! Tommy T

In Prior Post I told you I have a turtle in the pool (Duck Haven Pond). the day the ducks left, he appeared. Beau was using him as a football/chew toy. I gave him to my neighbor, he came back and has been in the pool for 60 days. I worried he could not get out and placed these two concrete pieces of an old bird bath for him to use to get out and to sun on, since they must have sunshine to dry them out.

Tommy Turtle is alive and well and he loves his new turtle food I bought from Wal-mart delivered Friday am, he ate all of it, Friday, Saturday and today.. it is little floating sticks, made from shrimp, black fly larvae and a lot of really stinky stuff. I have not seen him eat it yet. But its gone when I check.

the first day I put 12 pieces on the top step. and they floated, then dropped to the step, and an hour later they were gone. 

Day 4, I saw him swimming towards the step as soon as I dropped the food. I could not see him get it because he knows when i walk up to the door and dives.

He knows when I drop it, because they have really good sight and scent at long distance.He can see me from the pool if i walk by the door. He is afraid because beau used him for a football.  

 I am feeding A TURTLE named Tommy T.... what next? pet possum? cuddly coons? crazy crow?

BREAKING NEWS! 

*  Tommy T is a she, not a he, and name change is Tommie T!😛

*  She refuses to leave the pool, today is day 5 that I am feeding her, I have to hide behind the kitchen window to see her, swimming or floating. she has incredible hearing and sight and smell.

*  Yesterday for the first time, I saw her stunning on the rock!

She NEEDS to sun to dry out which meant ...

and here she is, Just what I saw, She is 10 to 12 inches long.

I am thrilled she eats the food, but still fretting over her becoming sick living in the pool. If anyone has an idea how to get her out. Please let me know. I can't see her in the murky water and she is faster than a lightning bolt.

I am praying to catch her OUT of the pool, and will move her to a real pond.

 

Saturday Update for the Week

 

Hello Out There! I found my exercise chair, it blends with my Ancient Decor, 

 $9.99 at Habitat Re-Store.

Plus I went shopping for 2 hours. I actually went out 1 hour each, on two days and 2 hours, on a 3rd day. Bob did well while I was gone. The Insurance renew Bob's PT. They have done what they can do and now it is up to us.

 Good news, 2 weeks of  rain,  blue skies and sunshine has Brought Back The Green, and Beau is headed to the grass to lay in the hot sun and roll around upside down.  The rain stopped, none for 5 days. Back to praying for rain.

 A 12 foot limb,  dangling over the driveway since hurricane Milton broke it part way, 2 years ago. Director/Producer Bob calls me, Chainsaw Mama or Lumberjack! Don't fret, I was terrified of the saw. Bob watched and told me, do it this way,that way, wiggle it back and forth. Stop! pull it out. Now do it again. He said, Easy, be Careful, numerous times, and I was.

I hate PAIN!

 

Since I wear trifocal glasses, I ordered this cup which allows me to look down in the cup while pouring and I can clearly see the ounces. It's perfect and I LOVE IT!

The pot does 6 to 10 ounces, Bob 10 oz, the Mad one 8 oz.. I control the strength of coffee by the amount of water I add. I love Strong, He does not. The Pot is a Huge Hit! I like my kitchen view as I sit here, and have for 38 years this Oct 13th. 

A Red Ear Turtle, Tommy T. has been in the Safe Haven Duck Pond( algae filled pool) since the 4th of July. I only see him with his head up and swimming, if I peek carefully between the blinds, between 3 and 4. I have never caught him out, but assume he does when there are no dogs or humans around. He refuses to leave, and I can't see him when he dives, to capture and relocate, and he remains for now. I am praying I will see him out of the pool, and will remove him to a real pond in the park.

EOS, landed on my porch with my Wal-mart Friday AM delivery. Anything they leave, by accident, we are allowed to keep. For myself, it its expensive I take it to the store, but this wonder filled bottle is only $2.50. Its Plant Based Dish Soap.

Cuts grease, easy on skin, no scent (YAY) It is Climate Positive! I love it and will be buying it from now on. 

I was not going to Mention BOB but I just remembered one other thing we got FREE for WM, was Greek Yogurt with berries in the bottom and Bob LOVES it. I have tried to get him to eat yogurt and he always refused. Now that is his evening snack.

Since I mentioned Bob, and to be Fair, here is Beau with great news!

For two weeks we have had RAIN, for 10 days, it was morning showers, now it has changed to evening and we are so happy. We walk at daybreak, we are getting lots of rain and we can still walk at daybreak. The storms are loud and flashy,

LIKE THIS, on Thursday at 3PMStorms here come FAST and Furious and this one put down 3 inches in 1 hour. The Noise was LOUD

We need a new I am a FRETTER! I research until I give myself headaches. I really want a Keurig. I think I want one. For two weeks, I have spent HOURS researching on line. I emailed Blog friend Ginny, because she has one, and she said she loves hers and a few details. I answered with

But What IF I Hate it! Even the cheap ones are expensive. I prayed each day that God would give me the wisdom to know which one to buy.

IF I spend the MONEY, and hate it, I will still Need a Coffee Pot.

Thursday Morning, I went out for a few errands and stopped in Goodwill, since I was next door to look for a straight Kitchen Chair, to use when Bob and I do his sit-down exercise. I use his wheel chair, but it has arms. Our kitchen chairs have rollers and that would be a NO. They don't lock like the wheel chair PLUS they also have arms.

Not a chair, nothing I wanted, and as I turned to leave I landed in the Small Appliances Aisle. Right in front of my face I saw a big fancy Keurig!

While standing there debating if it worked, was it worth the gamble  of 9.99? 

Angel #1, came to me and said, I have that model and its fantastic. She told me all about it and I decided to buy it. She said lets check it out first, I can tell if it works.

She plugged it in, pushed and pulled and said, Oh No, the pod clip is gone, this will not work, see this? its supposed to have a spring and snap shut. This is not good.

Angel # 2, walked towards us and she had in her hand, a Keurig! 

A smaller, more beautiful one. Both Angels tested it, and decided it was a good buy. I said so I will be Gambling 10.00 dollars that it will work and that I will like it, I can handle that.

Angel 1 and Angel 2 said in chorus

IT'S not 10, it''s only $1.49!!!!  When I got to the register, she said, are you registered with us? I said No, but I don't shop much, I will skip it. She said, if you give me your name and phone number, the price of the pot is $1.49, not 9.99.

The 2 angels did not explain I had to register but this girl said, If you come on Thursday, every thing with a yellow sticker in the store, is 1.49. Come the next Thursday every thing that was yellow has a blue sticker and is 50 percent off.

OY VEY! I may turn into the best thrift store shopper I know, Linda of Linda's Journal, who is Queen Of Thrift Store Shopping.

The good news is, it's only 1 mile away.

UPDATE; GOT THE PODS, AND IT WORKS PERFECT .

IT IS THE PERFECT SIZE, FITS UNDER CABINET AND THE LID OPENS.

So now I am praying someone will sit a chair out on the curb! Last month, a house Beau and I walked by has SIX kitchen chairs and a table out at the curb.

I did not know I would need one then.

The Pot Works, I ran water through it, and vinegar and water, but had no PODS.

Did I tell you I have a TURTLE living in the pool?

I have worried and worried if Tommy T, will live, but he has been in there since the 4th of July. I put chemicals in the pool to keep it from causing a mosquito problem. I can't see him to capture him and take him to a real pond, because of the algae. Yes, he can get out, because I researched with AI and made 2 places he can get out.

Also with all the rain, he can get out without the help. its full and running over.

Good Dog Gone Bad (BeauSpeak)

Do I look like a bad boy? Mama says after 6 years, I am a Good dog gone Bad..

Sunday morning, Mama came flying in the door, grabbed her cell phone and was outside before

Daddy could finish his sentence, of “ what now?”

She came back with photos of a Gopher Tortoise, so excited she could not talk. Showing the pictures to daddy she was in “chat mode” and making plans to have a pet gopher, named Tommy Turtle, even though she said he/she is a Tortoise not a turtle.

Size about 10 inch by 6 inch wide

I told Mama I needed to go out, and when she opened the door I sprinted to the gopher and batted it with my paw, rolled it over like a basket ball, grabbed it with my teeth, it peed on its shell, I picked it up by putting my teeth inside he hole the head was and mama was yelling no at the top of her lungs and I would not stop until suddenly, I was yanked backwards by my collar and dragged in the house. I have never been yanked before.

She came into the house and called the neighbor behind us, which has a jungle back yard with raccoons and possums and 5 birdbaths and NO dog. She asked if they would keep it in their yard and they were thrilled and Ken and Jo came to the fence and Tommy was handed off to paradise. When mama left the fence, she could hear both of them talking to the turtle. She talks to her birds like Mama does.

 

Mama came inside and sighing with relief it was gone, she asked her cell phone what to feed a gopher tortoise and read to Daddy and Me for hours.

Imagine Mama’s surprise, when she did further research and found It is a Red Ear Slider and a menace to the entire world because it can survive anything, even crocodiles. Turtle Haven 

This means I am not a bad dog,The turtle is a turtle and was in no danger of me killing him. I did not try to kill an endangered species, and Mama will keep putting it in the neighbors yard. HA 

This is a good thing, because an hour after mama gave Tommy to Ken and Jo, he showed up right back in our yard… he stayed an hour and disappeared.

What this means is mama miss-ID and cause the whole ruckus.

AI says sliders appear in back yards when they are traveling to find a pond. Now we don’t know if he has been swimming in Duckhaven Pond or not. Will he stay? Will Mister and Missy have a new friend? 

She is going to call her today and let her know the FWL will not be serving us with a warrant when they read our blog.
