Hi, Long Time No See! Beau and I had prepared his first BeauSpeak post for today, we had to pull it for another day. See those crazed eyes, see that fake smile?
This is how I feel. Most of you might know we were missing in action a lot in 2024, with health issues for Bob, Beau and Myself. The past few months have changed 2025 to the worst year that rivals 2020.
the straw that broke the camel's back was on the last day of the putrid year.
Beau was really sick on Dec 20th, vomiting/diarrhea for 13 hours, again on Dec 23rd and was fine until New Years Eve, this time only one vomit, but pacing and digging holes like the first time, he paced and I followed every step, for 4 hours, I got on the sofa and let him pace and took him out and this time he was attempting to pee every 60 seconds and could not, after an hour of that and groans and pacing we took him to Bradenton Veterinarian Emergency New year's Eve early AM.
3 hours, X-rays, cystoscope, full lab bloods, and 2 tests i can't remember, the nurse that had taken him away brought him back and said He is a Real Sweetie. I answered he is perfect. She said we know, we took x-rays and cystoscope, balloon, Catharized and he let doctor do it with no fuss at all.
She said we gave him a shot for pain and nausea, and he will be down for a while. Above is what he did while she explained 5 prescriptions and detailed foods etc. and times and to feed him rice and boiled ground round, breaking his food into 4 meals for the next 2 days. The meds on the left, the chart I had to make to keep track, the phone has all the time. 3 AM & 3PM, 5 pm & 5 pm, 3am 11am 7 pm.
Oy Vey, the good news is all fit with his Gabapentin schedule so that is 5 RX and his 2 normal meds.
We left ER less $1500.00 with a bag of drugs and a drugged but happy Beau.
Diagnosis, Cystitis.
Beaus is pain free and sleeping and eating but no pooping.. yet.
One Snag! I handed her my card and it was instantly declined. OOPS! who knew it would be so much. She said that's ok, just use your Banking app and change it, mortified I said, I refuse to use the app, she said just call the 800 number and the bank will change it. AFTER a five-minute wait on hold, he instantly changed it in just a few seconds, and it worked.
It's 1:30 New years day and as I type this there are many unread posts. I will read as many as I can.

Cystitis is miserable but usually resolves quickly with medication. Poor Beau!
Those UTI's are miserable! I was afraid it was kidney stones like my Mini Schnauzer had once. It nearly broke our bank. Ouch. Prayers that Beau and your bank recover soon. I totally sympathize. Got enough money? I can send you a bit to help, but need your mailing address please.
I've been MIA too. I did change the look on my blog. I think I've overcome that ketomine effects from the ambulance ride in May ... finally. It left me feeling so sad and awful. God has healed me. Thank you LORD!

I'm so sorry to read this about Beau, but I am thankful that you took him. I looked it up online and it sounds like what he was going through. I'm glad they figured it out and that he is going to feel better soon. I know that it was expensive but you also know that he is worth every penny. So sorry for all you have been through. Poor Beau. I'm glad that he's got medication and doing better now. That was some New years eve you had. Here's hoping that things go much smoother in 2025

I have felt so bad for you both...well, all three really...cause I know Beau is loved and seeing him miserable would worry you to death, even if you felt good. Praying that you all feel a lot better soon.

I am so sorry that you had to take Beau in to the vet, but thankful he got the meds that he needed. Hopefully he will be back good as new in no time. Sorry also that these past few months have been so difficult for you all. Just know that we have been praying for you and will continue to do so. Dear God, how much more?! I'm so sorry you're both having to experience these setbacks. Beau is one lucky boy to have you as his momma. I never heard of cystitis but will be Googling. $1500 is nothing to sneeze at, but in the words of my late father (when faced with overwhelming expense), "It's just money." Sending healing hugs ... and prayers.
I am so sorry you had to go through all of this! I hope Beau continues to feel better. Zoe had cystitis and stones, and is now on special food but doing really well. I hope for the same for Beau.

Oh my goodness! I don't know who had the most awful time...you or Beau! I have never heard of a pet having these kind of tests and being so docile!! I know cystitis, have had it so many times! If left untreated, it can go to your kidney.
I'm totally confused about the Beauspeak Day. I clicked on it and got nothing, and how is it different from beau's blog?

Hi Sandra :) I missed this post but am very pleased that Beau is feeling better, and you too cos I know what you have been going through and you love Beau very much- I thought Cystitis was a woman's complaint and it can cause hallucinations. A friend of mine had it and she kept seeing her mother who had been deceased for years. Anyway, God bless the three of you and I wish you a healthy and happy New Year.
