Through The Looking Glass

Only Linda of Linda's Life Journal will understand the joy of seeing our kitchen and living room through the brightly lit Looking Glass in our Nook. She is the only blogger I know who keeps her white lights year round like we do.

Sunday AM as I stood sipping my coffee and staring at the lights in the nook, I realized I could see the kitchen and the living room in the mirror.

Soooooo........YOU CAN TOOOOO... See the kitchen through the looking glass I mean.

As you read this we are waiting for delivery of a new fridge and a washer/dryer. Or if it's late in the day we may already be washing the clothes that have been waiting 7 days since the washer quit.

Are you aware that it is rare to be able to replace an appliance on the day or next day after it quits??? Home Depot had the best buy, so we wait with dirty clothes for 7 days. What if it was the fridge? How could we live without a fridge for 7 days?

Wait 7 days for delivery and then  wait through the  FOUR HOUR Window? THEY say, we will call 30 minutes before we come, then show up unannounced... it's the waiting that drives me crazy. Also the MONEY spent drives me crazy.

Goodbye 20 year old friends. Welcome new Maytag Friends. (bob has no idea in April we will have a new range. the old one is 28 years old. he says we don't need one.) HA! hope he doesn't read this.

Signed by MadSnapper, NOT Alice, through the looking glass.......

I like the glass eye view of your house. Not fun with the laundry building up, but really fun getting shiny new modern appliances!! The most expensive is a fridge, Yikes! Glad yours did not break. Getting a new stove will be really fun!! Smooth top or burners?

The wonderful thing about those white lights is they are good for any season. A wonderful view through the looking glass.
I hate having to wait for delivery or repair people. I don't know why they can't give you a more exact time. I guess they think we have nothing better to do with our time. All the appliances in my house are pretty old. The only one that has been replaced in the last 10 years is the dryer.

Appliances are like cars - you tend to take them for granted until they break. Ours were all bought the same year, so it will bankrupt us when they start going. :-)

Its nice to see your lights and kitchen view, Sandra, and congrats on the new appliances. We also bought Maytag brand when we replaced appliances in VA. Here in the apt, we don’t own any. That said, we are getting a kitchen makeover next week with all new appliances and cabinets withoutbhaving to do any shopping or work. Hope you dont have to wait too long for delivery of yours as that 4 hour window can be so frustrating a wait.

Hello, love the reflections and pretty lights. I wonder with older appliances if we should replace them before they break for good, like the fridge. We bought a new stove, I do not think it took 7 days. Enjoy your day!

Love the twinklies.
You can still get appliances same day if you haul them yourself. Sorry to say those days are pretty much over for us, sigh.

I loooooove you twinkle lights through your Looking Glass!!

We had to wait FOURTEEN DAYS for our new frig after our old one broke. We ate out A LOT and had a cooler we kept milk and other perishables. We had to go to the store every day to get ice for the cooler.....I sure hope we never have to do that again!!

Your powers of observation are pretty darn keen! I love the soft glow of those baby lights.
Don't even get me started on appliances ... geeze, we've had the worst luck, and now the buyers are asking us to replace the dishwasher. (Yes, waiting is the worst!)

I like the lights in the mirror! NO I had no clue it would take that long to live without our very needed appliances! I will be like Bob, just keep them til they die lol

Thats a neat idea keeping the lights all year. I bet your new goods don't last another 20+ years. They are only made to last 5 years so that you will go buy a new one again. Its a sales technique of the throw away society. Started by Osram the light bulb inventor, who discovered that by making bulbs to last forever he wasn't selling many so he purposely made them to only last 5 years and everyone else followed suit, (I saw a program on TV about this)

it looks like a fairy tale castle... just magical! I have some lights up in the lounge around our windows but haven't switched them on for a while... im going to do that tonight! {maybe your squirrels have a strong colour preference... or maybe the pink ones taste better... they are edible as far as I know... }
