We Are HOME...

I am not the Only Mad Person in our family

Thank you ALL for comments and prayers and emails and cards.. You Lifted Me UP!

It has been a long, hard 2 weeks, the stroke on the 17th, the week of waiting for his blood thinner to clear . Bob's surgery was done on Friday, June 23rd. It was a long one, 4 hours on the table, I brought him home Saturday at 2 pm. His throat looks like Frankenstein, I will spare you the photo I took of it in the hospital. I took a photo of him in the bed and my life was threatened if I posted it..

I am not worried because he is to weak to kill me now. The blessed news is no symptoms from the stroke remain, he is weak, his jaw and throat hurt and he is hoarse. He is taking pain pills and his normal 3 prescriptions. He is still at slight risk for stroke or high blood pressure for the next 24 hours. I have instructions and will follow them. If his BP goes above 150 on the top I have to call the surgeon. It is not over yet but the worst of it is..

All the things I feared, like anesthesia causing confusion of his brain did not happen. he is Perfectly Lucid..

I know this because right after the put him in ICU, he looked an me and said how much weight have you loss? you look just like you did when we got married... (that was 33 years ago and many pounds less) That Proves his brain is FINE... (my weight loss is now at 34 pounds)

Hey MS
Our prayers continue to come your way! Bob is lucky to have such a good nurse. That was a rough surgery at any age. He is a strong man with a stronger woman behind him.
Hugs Cecilia

Glad to hear that Bob is doing so well (and remains so sane). Go ahead and post his photo because it sounds like you can outrun him--at least for now. All good wishes for continued improvement!!

Best,
Bonnie

I am Praising the Lord for Bobs operation recovery. I loved what he quoted to you about you and congrats with a fantastic weight for you now.

I read your blog on Facebook about the other poor soul Emergency as you were feeding
Bob. Right then and there I prayed for a miracle for that stranger of a Stroke. I pray continued healing with no aftermath for Bob.
I presume he has his beard still on. Ha.ha.

Big hugs from Canada. We love you both.

Hello Sandra,:) Thank the Lord, Bob's surgery went well, and he is recovering back home. I am so pleased for you both.:)

My son-in.law had a similar thing happen, last week, and is still in hospital, struggling with speech, and he can't write as yet. They are keeping him in to monitor his heart condition.

I am thrilled! It's been a rough two weeks but you both came through like shining stars!
Continuing in prayer for NO complications and lots of rest! 34 pounds is so impressive!
Bet you had little appetite the last few weeks! Hope you both are sleeping well!
Tell Bob his fans are demanding a photo soon!

"We Are Home" .... 3 of the sweetest words I've read all day!
And that pix of Bob imitating the gull ... Just smacks of positivity.

Did your heart do a happy little somersault when Bob said that to you in ICU? Methinks love stories are wasted on the young. LOL!

Now can you see me doing a happy dance 💃 for all the good news! Keep being a good nurse.....

Doing the happy dance!! And crying, too!! Tears of joy I guess. Remember when Phil went through his awful surgeries? I took a YEAR off! So see? You are strong and right back to your routine! You were the only one back then to get me back to blogging, I think I was just too worn out and stunned. I don't know if I ever would have returned, but you gave me a good shake. Is he on blood pressure medicine, and has he ever been? When will he start back on the blood thinners? I love the picture, don't know how you got it! Is it trues that you have really never seen his face?

Just now reading this...have barely been on the computer today. I am so, so glad that he did not have any major damage. I could write a book on Roger, and sometimes I think about it for the blog but it still really bothers me if I dwell on all he has lost. We just try to take it a day at a time, and be thankful that he is able to walk around and be home.

Congratulations on the 34 lbs.

HURRAY!!!! So glad to hear this and I have been checking and waiting, wondering if I should write to you again, not sure whether I should bother you what with everything going on. So happy for you both. I'm sure Jake was glad to see you two walk in the door. Take good care of yourselves. That's great about the weight loss. But more importantly both stay healthy now and sending you lots of love and hugs xoxox

Dear Sandra, I'm so pleased to hear that Bob is home and everything went well. I've been praying ever since I heard the news and especially on the day of the operation and whilst waiting for news. I shall continue to pray for you both. You're both two brave blog friends going through this stressful situation. Well done on the weight loss too. Hugs x
