Ringling Enchanted Magic Forest

The enchanted forest has all the statues dedicated to the little people that worked in the circus. To see photos of them click HERE they were an important part of the circus and in the beginning years it was employment for many of them that could not find it elsewhere.

Bogie - Canine Christmas Festival 2017

The festival has a race track, a fake rabbit races around and though and under an obstacle course. As we stood waiting I noticed the hair and dog matched in the sun. I snapped. And fell in love with the big red dog named Bogie

His name is Bogie and he was the 2nd fastest dog to race, he had to wait about 30 minutes for his turn, he was number 20. This is her face when I showed her the photos of her hair and his hair.

The black shepherd is Bogies best friend

Parting Shot... I want him still, but lucky for him and his best friend, they have Moms who love them.

No Tree for Me...

I should write a book,
There's no tree in my Nook.
It's been there for 20 years.
It's ok, there are no tears.
I wanted a change,
without spending all my change.
I bought my half price treasure
that with a few old things, gives me great pleasure.

I checked my prior posts on the Nook and found since 2009, I have  13 under NOOK label and it is mentioned in 47 other post. It is minus the tree this year for first time in 20 years and I love it. the candle ring has been around for 25 plus years, but sitting on the kitchen table some years and others staying packed in it cake tin.
I love my new starry light strings.
can you find me here?
YES! I do know it is STILL NOVEMBER..
I did wait until the day after Thanksgiving!  Easy Peasy decorating, I just added
1 glass tree,2 reindeer, 2 angels, 2 Santa's and the new nativity

240 starry lights in the nook this year

Guess What I did on Black Friday

Once upon a time, about a month ago, in fact, I met my friends at Cracker Barrel for lunch. I saw a Christmas Tree. I liked it.   Last week I went back to get the tree and talked myself out of the two trees because I am cheap, to the bone cheap. I stood there until the lady threatened to call for help with a loiterer.

While weighing the cost plus value, I saw a crystal music box Nativity. I added that to the weigh/cost/value.  I left with nothing, NADA, NIL ... to much money for me.

Monday morning I parked in front of Tuesday Morning and walked inside Big Lots, which is next door. During the night before it had popped in my mind Big Lots has really cool Christmas Stuff @ rally cool prices.

There it was... just what I wanted......The Crystal Nativity Music Box, for HALF THE PRICE. It lights up, it sings Silent Night, words not music. If fits the shelf in the nook....

Can you guess what I did on Black Friday? NO, I did not shop, I placed what I I bought  on Monday morning, next door to Tuesday Morning, in the NOOK, on Black Friday Morning.

I spent hours each day trying to get a decent photo of the new Nativity. So far, I have not. Anyone have any ideas? I tried 2 cameras, 1 phone and a partridge in a pear tree tablet.   I put in under 3 different lights, I held a flashlight on it, I took pics in candle light and tree lights..

Why YES! I did take a few more photos... but not of this.

Canine Christmas 2017- Adopt Me

I am a MUTT lover, oh yes I am! and this Saturday was my 9th year at the fund raiser for rescue dogs and the local shelters. All of these dogs were ready for adoption. My heart still hurts. I am posting these on Black Friday because it is black days for every day these dogs don't have a home. And there are hundreds of cats, but they can't bring them out so no photos. Adopt, don't buy....

Here we are when you leashed expect it!  What's up, dogs? this post is the leashed I could do for these sweet pups. These dogs were not hot under the collar; the weather was pawfect.

it was mind beagling to see all these dogs, they all look quite fetching to me...

2 years old lots of energy female
Our sweet Jake is number 17 mutt in my life, starting when I was 8 years old. I still remember every single one of them with love
All of these and the horse Hooves, Paws and Claws

These are only a few and you can see they are from 2 years to 5 years and it makes them hard to adopt.

Canine Christmas 2017

In Sunday post I asked if anyone could guess where we went on Saturday PHUNDAY... Can you guess now. My 9th annual visit to the fund raiser, Canine Christmas Festival, for our local shelters.

In 2009 my friend Rich invited me to meet him at my first ever Canine Christmas, he lived in an Assisted Living facility and drove his chair over to meet me. We attended 6 Festivals together and I still miss him. Saturday was my 3rd visit without him. PRIOR POST on Rich my friend, my Photoshop Professor, and lover of all critters on the planet.

In memory Rich Rodgers November 8th, 2015

Bright sun, 70 degrees and Twas a beautiful day in our neighborhood, Come follow Madsnapper and Bob as we wander the paths filled with DOGS, lots of DOGS... A few dozen up for rescue, but many bring their pets.

Above you see a black German Shepherd and the red dog with him is my most favorite dog at the park. I loved him on sight. His name is Bogie and you will see MANY photos of him in the future. He was not up for adoption. See that big beautiful face below? I am in love

Ringling Favorites

As we stepped into this room, I walked straight to one of the photos and stood staring. I said to Lola, finally a time I recognize. These are all paintings from George Washing Era and sure enough they were all from the 1700-1800 era. The other rooms were centuries old. I could tell by the clothing and faces.

This one I looked at for a long time, all the men were in black, the lady in white and she jumped out of the painting with white light. I wish I could have captures the glitter of her white dress. Sadly I forgot to check the name of the painting
UPDATE Nov 20th. I call this Lady in White. She is actually Sarah Bernhardt, actress in 1889. the group are Parisian Celebreties... this link will give you all there names A Portrait Group of Parisian Society in 1889

Below is my favorite and the first one I went to in this room. Doesn't he look like a 1777 James Bond with a slight resemblance to my hubby Bob????
