I stood in my yard after my walk, staring acroos the street at the simple beauty of sun shining our our neighbors Palm Tree. I had just spent my entire walk staring at the rising sun. The pink and red had disappeared and the sun was above the horizon pointing out this beautiful start to my day.

Walking and Talking

Most of you know I talk to my phone, my tablet and my All In One Desktop!

Talking to my phone is WHY I am share this nonsensical stuff with you.

I CAN and do talk ideas

I CAN"T control what my mind talks about.

Walking alone is boring.

I talk to myself, the MADsnapper!

My mind never stops

Walking appears to force my mind into warp speeds.

Florida has torrential rains that can put down two inches of rain in 15 minutes 

Florida's sidewalks and streets are sloped to the curb. 

Sidewalks and Streets are higher in the middle than at the sides.

 I have one leg that is shorter than the other! Because of this I walk with the short leg to the higher side and keep switching back and forth. 

I walk one way and cross the street to go back, I choose where I walk, to keep my short leg on the high side. 

The hip on the short leg has hurt for most of my life.

I do excercises every day for that and they work. walking like this alleviates my hip pain.

I am thankful I can walk for exercise!

Invasive Beauty of Pothos

 

Above is our neighbors back yard, I took this over the fence. No one has been in that yard for 15 plus years. It has gone to Sub Tropic Jungle. Every tree is covered with 2 types of Pothos, the building is a shed with no access and to its right there is a house but we can no longer see it.

The photo below are the vines on OUR side of the fence. they must be hacked and pulled at least once a month. Bob has always kept them out of our yard.

His knees are bad and he can't keep up and refuses to hire someone.

Nature gone Wild! There milk is poisonous to the skin. and Yes, these are the ones you hang in your homes and sit on your table, and in fact I have one that hangs in my kitchen. I have to trim it once a month but it is contained in a pot.

the longer they grow, the older they get, the bigger the leaves grow... Its a jungle out there

In Line For Covid Vaccine appt

(I put this in because I am wondering what kind of cancer causing lights are flashing in my face that the camera can see but I can't)

My POINT IS

We have been unable to acquire an appointment for the Covid-19 Vaccine. 

We are on a lottery waiting list, every 5 days, our county chooses lottery style from the list, 500 appts. We have been waiting for a call for 6 weeks. 

Publix has the vaccine by appointment only. ONLY In 10 of our counties.

 The appointments come available, we get and email and they give the starting time, and all 22 million 65 and over goes on line to get and appointment. 

We are in line with all 10 counties, not just ours.

Our county has not been on the list until this week

Today at 7 I was waiting and clicked on the LINK

to find this..

Please Hold, which I did for 39 minutes without getting through.

Each county says 100 % when the waiting starts, as the appts are filled, it keeps a running count of what is left in each county.

MY county went down to 49 % left in 25 minutes at 39 minutes said FULLY Booked.

 Try again on Friday at 7 AM

Some of the counties were fully booked in 20 minutes.

Here is my rant, well a small part of my rant.

We MUST stare at the WAITING BUTTON, every 60 seconds it refreshes. 

When/IF  the BOOK NOW button lights up you have 60 seconds to tap it.

Our county is way at the bottom, if I wanted to see it I had to scroll.

As soon as the red counter turned to 60 second count down, I madly scrolled down and up

I played the count down game because I was bored to tears.

I felt like it was New Years and I Actually said the last 10 numbers out loud.

watching that **%$# button.

(I yelled to Bob to bring me a cup of coffee, he did, then I thought half way throuh it, Idiot, if you have to go potty you will miss the button)

scroll fast, scroll back up.

Could do nothing else, could not take my eye from that button.

do you know how long 39 minutes feels when staring at a button?

You would think in these days and times of so many

 SMART PEOPLE with Smart TV and Smart Phone and SMART computers

Someone could find a way to line us up and shoot us in the arm. 😎😎😎😎

When I was a child we got polio shots in our arms, as we stood in line, and the shot us with a gun and the second booster was eat a sugar cube and we could go to any fire stations and eat one,

I do solemnly swear I will not rant on Friday when I don't get through.

Same Post as on Beaus Blog, takeing a couple days off.

Mama Here with an update. I spent the whole morning, on phone and in car trying to find a vet to see Beau. His vet is booked to Thursday. We have been considering finding a new one. We decide to try today 

Out of 13 vet offices within 6 minutes of our house, no one could see him today. 2 of the six are walkin clinics, having appointments every day but 3 weeks out for that and walkin means sitting in car and waiting until they can fit you in. One said maybe 3 hours to come back in the afternoon and see if it was better and the other said come down, call us, we will come fill out paperwork at yur car and call you when we can fit you in.

We drove in and there were 6 cars waiting we made 7, 4 cars had dogs waiting before us. I called and she said we will come out soon to fill out forms and I will put you on the walk in list. I said i filled the forms on line and brought them with me. She said Great I will be right there to get them. ONE hour later, no sign of her and only 2 dogs had come out in one hour. 

I called her and said we were leaving and she said I am sorry, you ARE on the waiting list, We left. went to another walk in, there was no room in the parking lot, and I went in and there were 17 people smashed together i chairs like sardine in a can. 17 dogs waiting.. We left.

SO we will wait and see... Beau is in no pain unless he bends down to the right towards the floor. He is suffering because he can't pick up his beloved ball, but is in no pain. eats and does all things from walk to poop and pee and sleeps most of the time. It breaks my heart over that silly ball. we will figure he is healed when he doesn't yelp. even though he knows it will hurt he has twice tried to pick it up.

I will not be posting or emailing or doing much tomorrow unless their is an update. My brain doesn't function when my baby is  not well.

Since there is not much to be said about trees in fog, I will tell you my life is lived in a fog. My hubby needs his hearing checked, his aids are 6 years old and need to be reprogrammed or replaced. He says they do NOT!

You tell me if they need to be.

Sitting in the sun by the pool, he pointed to his stomach and said, Look I am bleeding. this is no big deal, he is always bleeding because he takes blood thinners for his heart.

I stood and said "I am to hot, I'm going inside, I will bring you a paper towel."

His answer was

"What, you're going to take a shower?"

Can one of you tell me the name of the above tree?

UPDATE, thank You Denise, this is a Norfolk Island Pine, very common here.

The Fog comes in on little cat feet, came to mind.

The tree and the flowers were taken at the same time. 

The flowers are under the tree. The fog did not creep along the ground but from the sky

Clear as a bell for about 3 feet from the ground and thick above.

Popping In to see you

 

Popcorn is prepared in the same pot, in the same oil, at the same heat. Yet not all kernels pop at the same time, or looks the same

I need your help. If I happen to be on the computer and  If I set the 10 minute timer, and at 7 minutes can't wait another 3 minutes to potty,

 do I Turn the timer off, Pause it? or let it run out?

If I pause it, and let the 3 minutes run out, is it ok to do another 10 minutes, which means I am sitting for 13 minutes?

If I forget to set the timer when I sit down, is it cheating if I set it when I think of it, even though I have already been there 10 minutes?

Pothos in Oak Tree -Caturday Art

 

On my morning walk, the sun enhanced the Marble Queen Pothos hanging from this oak tree.

The many varieties of Pothos are invasive in our tropical year round growing season, but they are beautiful. They can and do kill trees if not removed.

They also will give a rash like poison ivy if the milk from the vines gets on our skin.

it's caturday art day and Lunapic Made Me do this....it is not autumn here and we don't have autumn, but the edit made me think of autumn.

when I read the writing on the painting, and did research on it, I realized the quote and the mural are Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Yesterday, I could have gone to jail for $9.96. I scan and check out my own groceries each Tuesday at Senior Early Bird Shopping at Walmart. During regular hours, they have a greeter that checks the basket un bagged items against my receipt. 

since they trust us senior shoppers there is not one to check receipts.

I got to the car with 108.00 of stuff, all the bags were in and there sat 2 gallons of milk and 2 dozen eggs in the child carrier part. I just walked out without paying for them.   I went back in the store and scanned them and nearly passed out from shock when it said $9.96 for the items. 

Would they have believed me if I said I did not SEE those items .. I knew my short time memory is going but short time SIGHT?

Sweet Tooth

 

I have had no sugar for 4 years ago. I still have a sweet tooth.

Homemade, sugar free, dark chocolate that is full of Potassium 

It is simple to make. 

Melt a bar of unsweetened, 100% Cacao in a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup

(use a double boiler if you know what it is and have one)

stir in 2 packages of your favorite sweetener, I use sweet n low

place a sheet of aluminum foil on a flat pan, dish whatever

pour small amounts in circles or pour one large flat piece and break after frozen

leave as is, or place raisins, walnut, or almonds in each piece.

freeze and when hard place pieces in a baggie.

 dark chocolate is healthy, raisins and nuts are healthy it is high in potassium and one piece a day helps with the desire for sweets.

I use this brand, but any dark chocolate unsweetned will work

This WOULD have been The End of This Post but some of you wanted ANSWERS to yesterday post about our neighbors house that burned

Yes, we can rebuild a home that burns down, using the same footprint that doesn't change setbacks.

a contractor friend that lives here said leaving at least one wall or in this case 3 walls is called re-modeling, all walls down is considered building a new home. New means more dollars and more permits. More Time

The house is 2 blocks from our house. The same people are rebuilding, they had been in the house less than a year. They are not as old as we are, I Don't know if anyone was hurt. Now you know what I know. (I did not include all this because I am so longwinded I was trying to shorten my posts and I have 7 days out on auto post and HAD to answer before i forgot)

 the message was for Lisa, the valentine for you. You never answer a text and when you answered within 4 seconds, I was so shocked it scared me.

Now I know how to get your attention.

He said well you got it, I thought you were over the edge,

The TEXT was to my Brother, who NEVER answers a text. I can see he read them, but no reply.

I had no idea he knew how to find an angel smiley face or even answer the text.

I have laughed over this until I cried, several times. 

Mary Lucille is our mother, who has been in heaven since 1990.

I scrolled up and found the message for Lisa above the valentine for David.

I thought he was teasing me. He thought I was over the edge.

The moral of the story, is be careful who you text.

PS.... I was a supervisor, team leader in the job I retired from. Email was NEW! this was in the late 90's.

I went to a meeting of Team Leaders, Managers, Directors and all five people who start with the Letter C as in CEO CIO CEF

I was UPSET in that meeting. I sent and email stating WHY and it was NOT NICE. 

We had group emails. One was MGR MGRDIR and one for all MGR in company

My email went to every single manager, director and Cin the company. Even in other states.

Yes I did get called on the carpet and written up for doing it.
