I have a question. Would you eat oregano for breakfast and if so what do you put it in?
Each morning when walking Beau at 7 AM there is a house we pass that the smell of oregano is overwhelming. I have scent allergies and also if food has that in it, I can't swallow it.

The fish tail palm DOES look like a fish tail!! I like both oregano and basil and put it in spaghetti and other italian type dishes. So green there. I sure do miss green in the winter.
We love your greenery. My humans eat loads of o regano. At breakfast F would put it in an omlette (but only the freash stuff). Mostly it goes into Greek salad. Sometimes it is in paella, occasionally spanakirisotto. I'm with you, I don't like it on my chicken either. Xxx Mr T

Yes for brekky I might put it in an omlette, along with thyme and marjoram. But not so much youd smell it. Inthink thats more likely to be someone using an oil burner... YAM xx
we are no fans of oregano... mark can not stand it, so the option to please him with a store bought pizza is dust in the wind and I have to make it... fortunately I have two dogs with big paws who can do the dough ;O)))
On eggs, yes. But not over done. I've walked by people that reek of garlic (that is too strong.)
I've never had oregano in anything for breakfast but I suppose it would be ok on eggs.
You could be actually smelling marijuana. I've heard the smell is similar.
I certainly wouldn't eat it for breakfast but good on them who do.

Hello,
I do like oregano, especially on pizza. Your jungle plants are beautiful.
Have a great day and happy week ahead!
Love the greenery. Interesting to hear about your walk and the smells as you pass by a home. I don't like strong cooking smells. I expect in Florida windows are open. We only have a light breakfast of toast and marmalade with a cooked meal in the evening. I like the smell of coffee and certainly enjoy that with our breakfast.
I agree with YAM probably an omlette.
I love oregano. Yesterday we were out and about not really close to any cafes and there a strong smell of onions being cooked.

Love this first sunshiny image!
I never thought about using oregano in anything but Italian
food! Now, reading everyone's comments I'm going to try some on my eggs and sausage patties. What can I say, but I LOVE spicy food -- and have been known to wash it off under the kitchen tap if I don't. 😣
I have to be real honest - but I am not a SPICE girl! lol I like old salt and pepper.
I can imagine someone putting oregano on eggs or maybe even some on the cream cheese of a bagel, but no thanks! I grew a lot of basils this year, and people love the scents, but I am not caring for it. I do like the licorice one, though.
I don't mind spices and fortunately I have no allergies. It's used in Italian cooking, isn't it? I know nothing about cooking, so I should be quiet. I love your jungle and you've inspired me to go outside and take some pictures of the rabbitbrush while it's in bloom.
My first thought was marijuana...
I like oregano in an omelet and of course Italian goodies...but never overpowering.
Love the greenery.

Maybe on some eggs? But Mom is a simple toast and tea kind of gal for breakfast.
Lots of beautiful greenery there.

I like oregano but I wouldn't eat it for breakfast (my breakfast tends to be yogurt, fruit, tea and a cheese sandwich). I'd typically use it in meat/tomato sauce, soup, or on pizza or similar. (And as I don't grow it, and don't use all that much of it, I usually just use the dried spice.)
Beautiful photographs, love that lush greenery and all the shadows. I am not a big fan of oregano.
Like Yamini, I wonder if it is used in an essential oil blend..hmmmmmmm
Sunshine on all that greenery is lovely.
I don't think I'd want to smell or even think about oregano much before noon. It's for non-breakfast Italian food, such as pizza and spaghetti.
The sun on the plants is so pretty.
I can't imagine using oregano in the morning.
