Thump! Thump! Thump!

TWO QUART POT

I hear, Thump! Thump! Thump! I yell.."Bob, the Triplets just fell" and race outside. On the ground under the tree were three of the largest avocados we have ever seen.

Perspective shot... Bob's hand, a plate, a frying pan, as big as our coffee pot.   this one weighed in at 3 pounds, is 10 inches long and around the middle is 16 inches.

The triplets we have watched for weeks are still hanging, as you can see above.

Odd thing is.... THEY say a tree grown from a SEED will never bare fruit unless grafted.... NOT TRUE we have proof in our yard, 11 year old tree from a seed, and all he did was plant it. Not everything we read is TRUE.

The thing is that *&%^$$ of a squirrel is taking a bite and knocking them down. Five down on the ground and one left half eaten in the tree just on Saturday and hundreds of the golf ball sized babies were destroyed before they could grow to adults.

Good Morning! I've never seen avocados this huge! What a shame the squirrels are ruining them. Love the triplets' photo and your header pic!

That's a whole lot of guacamole!! :-)So glad you got to harvest some that the squirrels did not destroy. Those guys are cute, but they can sure make a mess, Right now, they are
tearing up the cushions on our patio swing and using the stuffing for their nests! Grrr! Makes me want to wring their little necks!

Whoa, those are big. Won't you feel bad about eating them now that you've named them...? (lol)

Bob's growing exploits need to be told to some kind of an *official* place. So the myths he has exploded, can be stated, on a wider scale.

Good grief! I'm going to rush out and plant an avocado seed. then again, we don't have enough sunlight here in NW Wisconsin to accommodate an avocado - at least I'm pretty sure it couldn't survive here. They're so HUGE! Just think of all the good omega-3's that squirrel is getting! He should live a long and happy life. I knew you'd be glad to hear that. lol

Awww come on. Squirrels like them too. And me. I'm salivating right now as I even look at an avocado that big. All the avocado and tomato sandwiches I'd be eating.

Sandra you crack me up!! Albert, Alan and Aaron are some gorgeous.
Dang squirrels must have read in the Tree Rodent Times that eating avocado is healthy.

So I have to ask how do you say
avocado in pig Latin? Your comment was so funny

compared to the avocados they sell in the grocery store here, that is a monster. Do they normally get that big?

oh those are so big!
i love avocados, especially in my salad.

i have to ask...do they normally get that huge?

Unknown said...

WOW!!! Is all I can say!!! Them's some big avacados! Did you say Bob eats them? Those babies are more than a meal in a dish!! I like avacados too. I put a tiny bit of salt and smear of mayo on them when I eat them. Pat does not like them. Answer to why the baby can walk and drink and not choke is because they have great muscle control. Our whole body is controlled by our muscles. By the time you reach our age, and you and I are the same age, even though I know you don't want to admit it...:-), our muscles are deterroating. Nothing works like it use to. Example, I am keeping "POISE" in business. Any woman will know what I mean. Am
right? Love you girl, Madeline

I don't think I have ever seen such large avocados...ever...
I'm amazed they survived the squirrel harvest.
Love that you named them..

WOW! They really are huge. I have never seen such bright green avocados. Here we gey dark ones and quite tiny. Sometimes by the time the seed's out there's not much left.
The veggie guys could be part of that kids' web page.

Enjoy your huge avocados! I'm wondering whether they are ripe enough to eat straight away?
I've enjoyed catching up with your posts today and love your header.

I have never seen avocados anywhere near that big. Oh, but I could sure sink my teeth into one of those. That is great success for sure at growing the tree from seed. Shame on that squirrel or squirrels chewing up your beautiful avocado that way. Hugs

I guess you and Bob are the only ones who had patience to see if they would bear. Or maybe it is Bob's super green thumb!

Dee said...

You guys not only have green thumbs but green hands...the tripplets are whoppers :)
