Little Los Angeles

Bradenton, Florida, last week... and the week before and next week and the next week after that. The price of living in Paradise...

(my grandmother said over and over that one day so many people would move to Florida it would break off from the States)

Bradenton/Sarasota is the 18th fastest growing metro area in the U.S.

and for 6 months of the year, our population doubles

800 people move to Florida every day..
24,000 per month
2.8 million per year

Bradenton Herald said... The Sarasota/Bradenton Metropolitan planning commission came up with this answer.

Reaching for Reacher...

2 years with my Kindle Paperwhite e-reader, and I have read only two books that were NOT in my Kindle.

One of my favorite authors is Lee Child, having read all 17 of the Jack Reacher series last Sept. I received notice the new Reacher book number 18, Personal, was out.  The library had no Kindle copy, but they did have one copy of Large Print, which is all I can read these days. I put my name on the hold list and was # 75.. This past week I received a call my book was ready for pickup.

Things I learned while reading a printed book
.
It takes 74 people five months to read one book... (Write that down, so you don't forget it...)

A book that is  9 x 7 in size and 2 inches thick requires 2 hands to hold it. (Kindle is 1/4 inch thick and almost weightless and can be held in one hand).

That same book is awkward to hold while reading through progressive tri-focals. (Kindle fits right under my double chins, easy to see)

The book caused my arthritis to  HURT in fingers, wrists, shoulder and elbows, ( I can read for 4 hours at one time with the Kindle, the book required frequent rest breaks),

CONCLUSION? when number 19 comes out, I will have to buy the book.

Do you have a favorite author that you have read every book they wrote? I have many.

PS... I had to DRIVE to the library, 4 miles of TRAFFIC with many traffic signals plus the GAS it cost me.

Betty Boop @ Red Barn Flea Market

Betty Boop is regarded as one of the first and most famous sex symbols on the animated screen. Created by Max Fleischer in 1930
I found this one at the Red Barn Flea Market Saturday

There are many video's of the cartoons of Betty Boop on Youtube

During the Winter months we stay away from this giant flea market because of the influx of winter visitors from the frozen north.

While wandering the aisles with my hubby, a man stopped us and said "I have never been here before" and pointing at the produce we were buying, he said "is this the only produce here?"
I explained there were many others and where and as he walked away,
Bob said...." Damn Yankee"
and we both burst into giggles when I said
"the pot calling the kettle black'

Because I am married to a damn Yankee... my grand mother said the difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee is the Yankees go home...
Get it? Bob came in 1970 and STAYED.

you know I had to PicMonkey with the photo

PicMonkey Bombs..

Most of you know of my love affair with the photo edit program
PicMonkey..
I received the above Warning in my email that my charge number FAILED and my PicMonkey would expire in 2 days.
OH NO IS RIGHT... it was an easy fix and all is well..

I am still receiving my PM bombs. they are tutorials that come in my email. Sometimes I am aware and sometimes it teaches me new things. Like Dodge and Burn in today's email.... I knew this because of Photo Shop, but thought some of you might not.... Dodge and Burn is free even if you are not a member.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE TUTORIAL

See the difference in Jakes eye that was to dark? I used only Dodge to lighten it, and a little burn also.. Dodge lightens and Burn darkens. I use this almost every day

Random Shots - Egrets N Bones

Shadows from the dog treat container on my kitchen cabinet. While playing with the shadows I saw something white fly by the living room window..

A very tall, very hungry Egret landed in the ground cover and helped himself to a few lizards.. Above through the screen, below pressed against the screen.
