September Morn - Florida Style

I stepped out the front door and found 4 autumn leaves. of course the whole bush was green, but with my handy dandy zoom I focused on the leaves, then on our neighbors house behind the leaves.

I noticed the Bougainvillea blooming and walked to the end of the driveway and the view from the driveway.
Autumn in Florida....

Oh Well! What Can I say?

Nope, I did not NEED a new camera.... I bought the camera..........we pretended this was my birthday present for Sept 5...

Bob, did not NEED a new plane....He bought the plane...We pretended this is Bob's Birthday Present for Oct 1 when he will be 79

Murphy came to visit because he KNEW we spent Above and Beyond in the past 3 weeks. Murphy put a hex on our Lawn Mower and it DIED DEAD in the Driveway... (have you ever wondered why we say Died Dead? I mean can we die alive?)

Meet our NEW lawnmower, bought AFTER the summer Sales, when we had to pay Full Price.

Autumn Colors - Backyard View

Sunday September 27, 2015, Jake was begging for his first ball game of the day. I explained it was 6:45 and that we had a half hour before it would be light enough to see the ball. He insisted and I listened. I said "come on, mommy will show you it is to dark?

OH WOW! Mommy screamed while dashing for the camera.....Our Sunrise from our backyard viewed through the neighbors palm tree.

In the bottom right of above photo, is the roof line of our neighbors house. Once again I had to shoot UP and over to get these photos. We have no autumn leaves, but from now through December we have glorious sunrise/sunsets.

Header Mania

I have been poking around in old photos on Picasa Web and found a ton of headers I don't even remember making...I used to change headers 2 or 3 times a week and at one time changed it daily...I suffered from Header Mania way back when...

Only a few words today, I want to share Gospel of Goose with you today. A happy ending to a sad story

MadSnapper @ the YMCA pool

Above is Because I could shot of Bob in his 'standard waiting mode' for the lifeguard to unlock the pool area...

I took the camera to the YMCA to show my non blogger friends, the MOON photo that was in yesterday's post.

Each day, 5 days a week, at 5:30 AM, Bob and I are the first in the pool.

The water is like a glass mirror and the reflections of the chairs calls out to the Mad in MadSnapper.

The lights are the type that slowly come up, takes about five minutes to go from green to aqua to bright white. I love the chairs reflected in the water before I step in the pool and cause ripples. My OCD self kicks in and I want to put the chairs in line by size and shape.

Moon Shot -today, 3:50 AM

9/25/2015 at 3:50 AM the moon was the color of blood, not THE Blood Moon
but close... for may 60 seconds it was glowing red orange.
Bob called me to come quick, shot 1 and 2 I had the camera on Macro from the day before, Shot 3 I had it on infinity and wow, did it go out there. The moon rapidly dropped and changed, all photos I had to stand with my hands up over my head because it was dropping behind our fence. 4 looks strange. the color changed to normal and the bushes were in front of it. it looks like i cut a hole in a black box to show the trees, but this is what came out of the camera. I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA

Happy Birthday, Mother

Lucille Overby McCall 1925-1990

Today my Mother would have been 90 years old. On Sept 22, 1925, Mother was born here in Palmetto, Florida and loved all things beach and water. She married Daddy in 1943 at age 18 and moved to Savannah, GA and never stopped missing her home town. She caught fish and crabs and dug clams in this river for 18 years.

Above is the manatee river that splits Palmetto and Bradenton, the red dot at top is the house where she was born, the lower red dot is our home. Bradenton beach is to the far left. Mother loved all things beach/water. Clicking will enlarge map.

Above is the green bridge mother fished from, below is the new Green bridge she never saw.

As the crow flies our home is about 1 mile from where mother was born, by road 4.6 miles and 12 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Sadly mother died 5 months after I moved where her heart desired to be. She lived long enough to know I was in her home town. I spent many happy days here growing up. We traveled from Savannah to Palmetto by train for many years and then by car several times a year. All my life I wanted to live here, and have been here since May 5th 1984.
