Do not use the white glove! I HATE dusting, really hate it. Last Saturday, The Time Had Come!
The Glass Nook (click on link for nook info) needed attention, it has mirrors, glass shelves AND holds Lots of Glass dust catchers.
I decided to "gather" all the oil lamps and old bottles into one place and
If you know the answer to that one, do you know How the Refrigerator Gets Dirty? everything in the fridge is in a container, a clean container, so How does it get so dirty that it has to be wiped and scrubbed? does the food come out and party at night and have food fights? Do the liquids party and gets sloshed and splash on the shelves?
How often do you DUST? How often do you clean the fridge?
These bottles and oil lamps do NOT live in the glass nook. The Rest Of The Story LATER

I like a clean house but dusting is not my favorite. I know what you mean about the greasy grime on glass, I just scrubbed some of mine a few weeks ago.
The real question is the fridge. Does that light really go off when we close the door or does it provide light for the milk & veggie's party time?
I do a quick dusting one a week, a good dusting once every month...or two. The fridge gets a good cleaning about every three or four months.
It is a lovely nook but I agree nick nacks are a blessed nuisance when it comes to cleaning. I have the same problem with dust turning to grease on light fitings. Why.So now I know why my fridge gets dirty...the food having a party in there. You gave me a giggle today! I'm too embarrassed to tell how often I clean the fridge.
I just did all that yesterday plus vacuuming and moving furniture and laundry every time I turn around and I mopped those dang floors. I hate cleaning. If I had money, I'd have a cleaning person in here every day.
Oh my gosh - I am the EXACT same way - I want everything where it should be - don't care too much about the dusting - but it gets done eventually.
Well why does it turn to grease and grime - grease from the kitchen or smoke - does hubby smoke?
Ice box - hubby.
See what I am getting at - maybe it is the hubby! LOL
I am not going to tell you how often I dust - teehee.
Love,
sandie
Beth cleans the house a lot....she doesn't mind dusting she says.... I really like all your lamps....cool!
I love it when the house is clean - just feels better. I used to clean and dust thoroughly every week, then every 2 weeks, then when it was just Jimmie & me and we were working, once a month. Now, it's when company is coming or I can't stand it any more! I blame Pat & Madeline when the house gets dirty. If they'd come more often I'd have a reason to clean! Good for you cleaning all the glass. It's a job but they sure look good when they sparkle.
I love your collection of bottles and lamps.
Dusting is not one of my favorite chore but I do it once a week, same with the fridge. I'll be glad when heating season is over, it's always dustier in winter! Except for pollen season when you can't open windows unless you want everything yellow! LOL!

How could such beautiful photos come out of such an onerous chore? Only the Madsnapper can accomplish that. And no no no. I will not answer the question about how often I dust! Just know that procrastination is what I am best at!!
I read somewhere that dust is a protective coating on your furniture and things.Boy,is my stuff protected. Also dirty windows keep the UV rays out.One wouldn't want to take a chance.OK,really I don't like a dirty house,so I do dust and clean windows, amazing as that may be,but not as often as others do.Too many more important things to do.
Again, sisters!!!! To the max! I love things to be neat and in order, mess drives me crazy! And I have to know where to find things. Right now my rooms look great! But the dust!!! One day Ella wrote in the dust on the T.V. stand!! I did get one of those Swiffer dusters, which makes it a lot easier for me. Dust is attracted to it, and it has a nice handle so I don't have to bend. We do have to buy refills, but it's worth it to me, it will get between things that my hand won't, without knocking them over. Before that, that I used to use a damp paper towel so the dust wouldn't fly around (I am allergic to dust; no, really!! I take pills for it.) So people oooh and awwww about how straight and light and pretty my house is, but there is the dark secret! You are so funny!!! Right on about the bottle grease and the fridge!!! Would a scientist know?
The house does feel so much better clean! Unfortunately where I live in the country, I could dust every day....but I don't. Love all your bottles and lamps!
You had me half laughing, half groaning with the refrigerator... The groaning because it was a reminder. It certainly is a mystery. Where do crumbs come from when you never put anything in without a container.
I no longer keep a regular weekly schedule for cleaning/dusting, but I can't let it get too dusty because then like Ginny I get allergic. I also like things in order. I don't know how often I clean the fridge... When I see the need for it, I suppose... ;)
I like things clean too-but how often do the things you mentioned? Don't ask-and don't look in my frig either : )
This is way too convicting!!! And I had no idea about the parties being held in the refrigerator.
I'm like you, I like everything neat and in it's place and spic and span clean. However I like it when someone else does the cleaning. I tend to put things off far too long, like dusting, cleaning the fridge and all the rest :)
I'm pooped..long day and this just reminds me of all the work I have to do! Tomorrow is hubby's birthday but I must become Broom Hilda and prepare for the big day -family dinner will be on Friday! The house needs detailing! It just collects and I let it go until I either have energy or I'm forced to (like for his birthday). Sandra..it ends up a sweet mix of dog hair, a little cat, bird feathers, seeds, crumbs and what not! Enough-
Not often enough... although I have to get the fridges cleaned out this month... my brother is coming for a visit and this is his house. AAACK!
