Will and Kate

Just in case you might not know this Hardy Har Har... Will and Kate GOT MARRIED yesterday.
I watched every moment glued to my set.... Here are my favorite shots of the ceremony that I took with my LOOOOOOOOOOG Distance Telephoto Trans Atlantic Lens.... (better known as my 47 inch HD LCD TV) they looked soooo good in HD....

Only a ring for the bride and I am wondering WHY
UPDATE after 4 commments. i found the history of men and wedding rings. seems Americans are the only ones shocked, since it is an American thing that started 70 years ago and it is common in UK that men do no wear rings. CLICK HERE FOR INFO

Ya Think I should make them a scrap book????  they might not have enough photos......
I am a romantic at heart and just HAD to do this..... Long Live the Future King of England and his bride....
Kate was 29 in January, William will be 29 in June. YES... I did wonder and did ask Google

For those who might care Prince Charles is 62 and Camilla is 63, they both looked older to me. His mother the Queen is 83. Pippa, Kate's sister is 27.... are you groaning yet?????
PS Prince Harry is 26....

Backyard View from the pool

after sitting in this spot for 21 years, Pan lost his head!

3 dogs a running, one statue falling,Pan's head a rolling.

Enter Bobby Appleseed  Mr. Fix It with his liquid nails gun
Pan still still plays his tune... Until the Next Time!

Life is like a dogsled team. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes.

The other day I saw two dogs walk over to a parking meter. One of them says to the other, "How do you like that? Pay toilets

If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?

FMTSO- Texture

This weeks Friday My Town Shoot Out assignment is Texture. I found many definitions out there.

texture photography is any imagery that depends, at least partly, for its impact on the texture of the objects in the image and/or the way the light hits it.

Texture will be defined as the surface detail of an object. This detail can be composed of surface irregularities (such as the wood grain of an old plank)

or of small forms on a surface (such as a mass of roots from an ancient tree). in this case leaves on side walk and bench below

I found this definition on Ron Bigelow, there are many many more out there.

Backard Hula Skirt

Our Banana trees are standing tall and waving new growth right now, about 20 feet tall, 3 of them
The strong winds a couple of weeks ago shredded some ot the leaves and created our Banana Hula Skirt and more yard art for my camera.

Why are bananas never lonely? Because they hang around in bunches
Mother Banana: Why didn’t you go to school today? Little Banana: Because I didn’t peel well.
             *****
Why don’t bananas snore? Because they don’t want to wake up the rest of the bunch.
             *****
Why are you eating a banana with the skin on? Oh, it’s all right. I know What’s inside.

WOW Moment!!!!

I just had to do another post for today. guess what we had for lunch today??????
our very first BLT with Bobby Appleseeds Home Grown Maters on Melba Thin Toasted Rye!

That was the First Wow, we gobbled it up or down, which ever you call it and went in the back yard and what did appear to our wondering eyes?
Can you see the butterfly? maybe its a moth, don't know, but it is bright yellow

If floated around over the pool and landed square on a leaf that looks just like him. the flower was between the lens and the butterfly/moth? another WOW moment

Backyard ART

Just playing in Photoshop with Backyard photos....
These were the last of the powder puff flowers as they closed for the season, the next day, Hubby chopped the bush back to four feet from 20 feet.
Above out of the camera, below a little photoshop magic and last a little ART

All three and the header are the same shot, just digitaly manilipulated.

The Rebel & The Benches

Please except my apologies for the number of photos, but I picked the Rebel up off the bench and it had a life of its own and would not stop snapping at the benches.
Color Me indecisive! There is lots of room for all of you to sit and be comfortable as you scroll.
Hope you have a scroll ball on your mouse!

I saved my two favorites for Last.....

Answer to what is it

I came home to find this contraption laying on the kitchen table, and I said What IS this?

Hubby says "it's my magnet to pick up screws I drop down in engines or when I drop them on the floor I use it to find them.
BUT.... said I  WHAT IS IT? what did you make if from. I can tell it is a magnet on a piece of heavy Wire...

Hubby says "its a Cow Magnet, farmers make the cows swallow them to clean out their insides.
WHAT??? I don't believe you.... Google It was the answer so I DID
Who knew? I did not!
If you know me at all, you KNOW I had to find a box of screws and TRY that magnet thingy to see if it would pick up the screws... see below
This magnet taped to a 2 foot piece of heavy duty wire, has hung on the side of his red tool box for 26 years and I never saw it before.... lack of commuication????
Congratulations to Leontien at Four Leaf Clovers, she KNEW what it is. She lives on a "Dairy Farm"
Wikpedia says....
A rancher or dairy farmer feeds a magnet to each calf at branding time; the magnet settles in the rumen or reticulum and remains there for the life of the animal. EEWW!

If you want to know more... it is really interesting
go to Cow Magnet Choices  I found this interesting tidbit there.
While grazing, cows eat everything from grass and dirt to nails, staples and bits of bailing wire (referred to as tramp iron and this causes HARDWARE DISEASE... I kid you not!

If you want one they run 12 to 20 dollars each.... don't have a cow? tape it to a wire and use it to find screws.  I KID YOU NOT...... this is a shocker, right? right?

Backyard Shootout New Life

The day after Easter seemed appropriate to me to share the new life that is popping out of the old dead sticks in the back yard.
this is a part of the bush that looks dead to me

And this dead leaf is on the same bush so take a look at New Life
Just like the New Life we receive from belief in God's Son, Jesus, this new life is brought by Gods SUN after the cold of winter
And right next to this bush, the stunted and ugly becomes beautiful, a few leaves at a time

Another Sunrise, Another New Beginning.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie
Every day is a new beginning. All of life provides opportunities for new beginnings. Whatever has gone wrong, or right, in your life, you can begin again. quotes from     Daily Inspiration
