Hubby said, NO, don't pick it yet, it is not ripe. I said: it looks ripe to me. I picked it. It was NOT ripe.
so I need your vote. Does this tomatoe look ripe to you????? yes or no
I probably would have picked it just because i couldn't wait, BUT there is a little orange around the stem in first three pix, which I would have ignored in my rush to enjoy the first tomato!
It looks so pretty! Digitally, it is ready, hee hee. Yum!
Yes! It looked ripe to me too! I did notice a little orange like LC mentioned in her comment but most people do pick them when they aren't ready and let them sit in their windowsills or porch railings until they are ripe to keep the critters from getting to them when they are ripe.
I'm so jealous though! It isn't even time to plant tomatoes here!
Yes, it does look ripe. Did you squeeqe it before you picked it? I guess no matter what you think, Bob is always going to be right about things like this. He GROWS and he KNOWS!!
yes it does look ripe to me. My dad used to pick some that looked less red than that and would put them on the window sill to finish ripening. I don't know if that was just near the end of the season when it was getting colder. I do remember him doing though
Looks way riper than most of the tomatoes I see in the stores! Just lay it in the window like Ann said. I guess you will not be picking tomatoes again. Let the green thumb guy do that for ya!
Yes..but if you were really uncertain you could always set it on your counter until it gets soft?? I can't believe that RED tomato is not ripe?!!! Looks beautiful. I had a loooong day today. I have to read my mail as soon as I get a moment. Thank you for your sweet comments!!
It looks absolutely perfect to me! But most folks would let it get a little riper. I like them while they are still a little firm, I don't like them the least bit soft.

I would have waited at least one more day. I'm impressed that you have tomatoes in April.
I think it looks ripe, but I might have waited a couple days - don't know why I feel that way though.
It looks delish.
