Sunday Disaster

It is all Bob's fault, I broke my CUP!  (condolences please)
YES, I have other mugs!
The thing is.... they all have straight rims and now I MUST go shopping for a new cup.

BOB left the chair out to far from the table and as my arm swung the cup it whacked the back of the chair causing Irreparable Damage, as you can see. He Is To Blame even though he was mopping the floor when he left the chair out to far.  Now I am forced to go shopping to find a curved lip cup.... While I am out there searching I have homework for you.
which do you drink from, straight or curved lip?

Was this Bob's fault? my fault? or Murphy's Law

Garden Of Eden

I found this in my drafts since November and am taking the lazy way out.

From November through March, our Orchid Trees Bloom like these. Amazing Purples and Pinks. Last week, driving down a neighborhood street I stopped to share  this amazing tree with you.

I advise you NOT to lean on this tree, see those very thick and sharp thornes? like roses, these orchids have thorns.

9 The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9 (New International Version)

Maybe there was one of these in that first Garden..................

Ringling Museum is for the birds...

I crossed this bridge as I left the enchanted garden, headed for the Ringling Art Museum. Even the bridge is pretty and enhanced the view.

A man and a duck are walking down the street together. Suddenly the man notices a low-flying airplane coming right for them. The man yells "DUCK!!!!" and the duck looks back at the man with an angry face and yells "MAN!!!!"

The Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata)
The above duck is a very common sight in just about all our neighborhoods here. They are so ugly they are cute and they hold up traffic by walking slowly across the road, spread out 2 to 6 at a time, they are unafraid of cars or people and some people do not like them because of the mess they make on driveways. My husband tells me that once about 30 years ago, they had about 30 of them in his neighborhood and people wanted them GONE. He contacted a friend on a farm and when the farmer came, Bob through his cast net over them and they moved them to the pond on the farm where they lived happily ever after.

A duck walks into a pharmacy and says, "Do you have any chapstick?" When the pharmacist hands it to him, the duck replies, "Thanks, just put it on my bill.

Datura fastuosa

Above and below July 24th

Double Purple Angel's Trumpet, Purple Hindu Datura, Devil's Trumpet, Horn of Plenty or just plain old
Datura fastuosa ' born on the 25th of July
July 25th 4 AM... Bob takes the dogs out and comes inside "bring the camera, come look at The Flower" today. YOWSA!
This beauty measured 8 inches long and the face of the flower at 3 and 1/2 inches
We found by watching it, that it starts to open around 8 PM and opens fully after dark.

This Angel trumpet blooms in the hottest months, at night and is one of the most striking flowers I have ever seen.
There is a downside, the plant is in the deadly Nightshade family and I found this warning when reseaching to find out what it is.

humans and/or animals may have allergic reactions if part(s) of this plant are consumed or by coming into contact with sap from bruised or broken plant parts: All parts - Highly Toxic if Ingested

Mystery Plant

June 20th 2011

Early June,  my friend Jo, emailed and asked if Hubby A.K.A. Bobby Appleseed would like seeds that would grow purple flowers. She said she did not know what they were but the plant get's tall and has beautiful purple flowers. I said sure mail them to me. A week later she called and said she would be in town the next day and would bring the flowers. She showed up with pot with 7 tiny plants, each about 2 inches high. Master Appleseed planted one in the bucket garden and with in 3 weeks it was the size in above photo.
Above is the little pot the 7 plants came in and another week tall on the bucket garden. Fast growing plant
July 13th
On July 13th while admiring the brilliant green leaves, Master Appleseed called me to come look what the plant has... a 3 inch bud appeared overnight.

Bewitched by Florida Fowl

Male Osprey fishing from light pole at the beach

Just a few of our local birds and a common and daily sight for us. They are not "common" birds though but "bewitching birds" as I never get tired of seeing them.
Gulls fighting over a jelly fish

Gull

Heron

Heron

Not sure, does any one know the name of this bird? the gull family I think

Speckled Pigeon, not a common sight on the beach, but there he was with a dozen or so cousins
Is a limping pigeon human toed?

If a pigeon says "ribbit" is it a pigeon toad?

Is an insane pigeon "cooooo cooooo"?

What does a pigeon con man call their mark?

Oh! You wanted FUNNY pigeon jokes. Sorry.

I am NOT allowed to turn on the computer! What Was I thinking????

I managed to get through the rest of the day because we watched a movie until bed time.

Day Two of 48 hours off computer, 7 AM... I TURNED IT ON, I played, I read, I commented, I downloaded, I emailed and I looked up all the things in google that I had wanted to do the day before. I checked FaceBook to see how many had commented about having had a cup of coffee ( what's up with that?), I played in PhotoShop....my conclusion to all this madness is....

Computer = My Life
Thank you Bonnie at From a Writers Kitchen for her pointing me to  C.U.A.  anyone know where I find the local chapter of Computer User Anonymous?

What would you do if you had no computer for 24 hours?
