Hubby's Hobby Hangar

Red Baron 18 inch see through, my favorite
We have a 2 car garage that our 2 trucks reside in but it is also a HANGAR and has more than FORTY radio control airplanes. Hubby built this red one out of meat tray foam, balsa sticks and monafilament see through paper. (12.00 bucks a roll) OOPS! should not say that.... the thing the motor is on is an old fishing rod.
Planes are in boxes high on shelves
 Planes hanging with the rakes
VERY LARGE PLANES with above motor that had motor in another life was a WEED WHACKER. he found it in the neighbors trash
Shelves loaded with WINGS ONLY and there is not one space on shelves or walls that are not covered with planes and parts
Above collage is how CRAZY the Hangar makes me feel, that is a wall covered, and the others are stacked and hung and just plain old PILED every where.
This is his PIN UP WALL over his work bench.. Do you see ME there ? NOT do you see Dale Earnhardt? YES Do you see all FOUR dogs? YES even though 2 of them have passed over the rainbow bridge

You might be asking if I still love him. YES! but not the HANGAR!

BABY GIRL K9 Reporter with a special news report......
Mommy asked me to tell you she does not accept, open or read forwards, due to  the virus/cookies that come with them. She says please do not send her any generic forwards, but she loves personal email.

Jake's Best butt shot

Life is like a dogsled team. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes.

If there is H2O on the inside of a fire hydrant, what is on the outside?  K9P.

ME, Myself and I

I am an award free blog, by personal choice and recently have had several bloggers offer them to me. I hope you do not take it personaly, I just prefer not to participate, my reasons are on the side bar.
ME 1944 3 months old

But I will tell you Seven things about me you probably do not know

1. I drove a Big Rig, an 18 Wheeler in 1984

2. I talk a LOT now, but in high school, was bashful to the point of not eating in the cafeteria if my friend, Madeline (Mrs Snapper II)  was out that day. Now I can eat anywhere with or without people, and talk to strangers every where I go.

3. I refuse to ride a Ferris wheel or roller coaster-high places are not in my vocabulary and Scared Silly of the Dark, since childhood, still AM

ME 1946 2 years old

4.I  LOVE all things from the Wild Wild West and have since early childhood and LOVE books, blogging, beaches in that order.
5. I get very sick on planes and boats, so do not fly or float (the last time I flew was 1984 in a 4 seater, I got so sick the pilot had to tell the Airport we could not hold for 30 minutes, they let us land FIRST) and that was the last time for me

6. I love fast cars and once had a 68 Camaro and a 78 Corvette, now I drive a Saturn VUE

7. I love trains, love riding on trains, and rode them many times from birth to age 28.

Happy Hubby's Hobby

Can you guess what hubby's hobby is from above photo? can you guess what this is?

If you guessed Blue Core Insulation from Lowes, you guessed right. Hubby builds planes from these sheets of blue core. And they FLY. Above is the wing of his latest creation
The wing fits on this, please pardon his MESS
He spends hours in the Hangar designing and building planes and flies every single day of the year weather permitting and in Florida that is a lot of flying. (cold/hot/mosquito days, he uses the kitchen table, but that is another story)
He created this last week, the wing span is FIVE Feet. I am glad he has a hobby but there is one thing.
Our Garage is a HANGAR..... to be continued tomorrow.
Does your other half have a hobby? what is it and how does it effect YOU? Is it a Happy Hubby Hobby?

Think About This, please

This bike belongs to a homeless person, I pulled my car up to the  curb at the library Friday morning, and as I pulled my camera out, I thought how very blessed I am to be in a car, with AC and the fact that every thing I own is not in the backpack that rides on the back of this bike. the person who owns it, was inside for relief from our heat index of 111 degrees.

Seven out of 10 Americans are one paycheck away from being homeless.

Families now account for over 40% of the homeless and is the fastest growing section of the homeless population.

It is estimated that 1 out of 100 Americans will experience homelessness this year

On the lighter side...... What happened after the 5 day bike race? the racers got a weak end off!

Breaking News

Jake and Baby are here to announce the sun is setting on Fourpawsetc today.  Mommy is finding it time consuming to keep up with two blogs and today marks the last post on Fourpawsetc. The site will remain active, but there will not be any other posts. Mommy will continue to post new photos of our sweet faces, but they will show up here on MadSnapper along with all the other interesting things she madly snaps.

Jake loves mommy's jungle view  because it is full of lizards

If it looks like a feather?

I clicked on Drafts because it said I had 5, and found this post that I put photos in from January. I have no idea what the plant is, it was growing in Selby Gardens and I liked it, so here it is with a few one line quotes from the www
A closed mouth gathers no foot.

Snap Happy And Happy

We must become the change we want to see in the world. Ghandi
If you want to be happy, be.  ~Leo Tolstoy

Happiness is never stopping to think if you are.  ~Palmer Sondreal

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think.  Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.  ~A.A. Milne

This is my "depressed stance."  When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand.  The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better.  If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this.  ~Charlie Brown
Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it.
Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it.
Hatred darkens life; love illumines it.

Purple Trumpet

We moved the Purple Trumpet to the front yard when we found it was a member of the Deadly Nightshade family, to protect our dogs from harm. It has 7 blooms today, and because it in full shade, the color changed.
Click Here    and Here to see the difference if you missed the post. or check out label Purple Trumpet on side bar.   Photos taken 8/22/2011

The view from our living room window is much improved by this 5 foot tall plant and its 7 blooms

Remember this song?

What Retirees DO

Please accept my apologies for yet another Ballerina Post.

This is what retirees who do NOT travel DO instead.

We stand in the yard and STARE.

Last night while staring at  Leonard and Lizzie (our resident lizards) hiding behind the flower, (yes, I  name and talk to lizards) I suddenly realized......

This One is PERFECT it looks Much More Like a Ballerina than the last one.
Number ONE
I decided this will make a GREAT animated movie and if it makes a lot of money, I can Travel and you will not have to look at these post... soooooo
Your Multi-Part Assignment today is......
Name the movie
Name the ballerina
Choose 1, 2 or 3 for The Look
Can you SEE the animated movie from these creations?
Number TWO
 Here is My Problem.....
At the end of the day:
  • The car isn't washed.
  • The bills aren't paid.
  • There is a warm can of coke sitting on the work surface.
  • The flowers don't have enough water.
  • There is still only one cheque in my chequebook.
  • I can't find the TV remote.
  • I can't find my glasses and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why  nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired. I realise this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail to see what came in while I was standing and staring.
Number Three
Now you know what I do all day

Yes, Virgina, She is a MadSnapper

Found on fence, so I snapped it. OF Course I did!
I always thought this was just like a snake skin, that the Locust/Cicada just dumped it when done with it.
Cicadas can live 13 to 17 years, they are very very NOISY and Cicadas produce their calls with timbals1, which are paired drum-like structures and there ears are in their tummy's.

Here is a fact for ALL you men out there.....Only males have timbals (except for one Australian genus). Female cicadas are mostly mute.

they live underground and when ready to molt they climb a tree or in this photo my fence, then they wriggle free and spread their wings and fly away.  found this site that will tell you everything you ever desired to know about this shell       Click on University of Florida  there is a wealth of info there for inquiring minds.

Little is known about the length of their stay underground, except that the minimum seems to be four years under natural conditions -
Who Knew???? did YOU??? I did not but now I DO!
