Bob and I both do this and we give the song to each other.
Wed. while drinking our coffee in bed, Bob said do you want my song? I said, maybe, what is yours. Mine is Moon River..maybe I will like yours better.
Bob started to sing... he knew all the words..
"if your sweetheart sends a letter of goodbye,
it's no secret you'll feel better if you cry...
when wakened from a bad dream,
don't you sometimes think its real...
it's only false emotion that you feel.
The rest of the day I hummed, whistled and sang the only lines I know.
If your heartaches seem to hang around
and your blues keep getting bluer with each song
Remember sunshine can be found behind a cloudy sky
so let your hair down now, and go on baby and CRY.....
to hear Moon River go to YouTube HERE.. or NOT.. these songs are from our distant past, think FIFTIES

Oh no that will be in our heads all day LOL. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
Oh how sweet that you give each other a song in the morning. I had "Crying in the rain" in my head all day. Now I'll have "Moon River" thanks to your video! Yes, I remember it too. thanks for sharing this lovely post. Jo
Good morning, Sandra... coffee in bed sounds nice.. I do know the song Moon River but the other "Cry" is not familiar. Have a happy day!
I have heard Moon River before and I really like it :)
I am a huge fan of movie theme songs and instrumentals. I love Moon River was that from Breakfast at Tiffany's?
My two favorite instrumentals are
The Theme from a Summer Place by any band. And Strangers on the Shore by Acker Bilk...does anyone under 50 remember him. Both of those songs make me stop what I'm doing and travel back.
thanks for this great post
hugs cecilia
All day? I've been looping "Piano Man" for close to a week!! I've heard of Moon River but, thankfully, don't know the words so it won't be pushing out "P.M."!!
Best,
Bonnie
I met my hubby when the Movie was out with Sandra Dee. Love story.
I loved the theme tune.
Unfortunately. The girl who played the main role in the movie was so cute Sandra Dee and she looked exactly like
my husbands x girlfriend.
The good part. He broke off with her for Me. Ya!
I know that song too you were humming.
I am always singing Elvis Presley songs.
Thank you so much for the Moon River ear worm. Now that will be looping in my head until something else comes along to take its place. I often have songs looping in my head. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and I sure do love that header!
it's a conspiracy! you're the 2nd blog this morning that has mentioned 'moon river!' stop it! yes, i wake up with a song looping thru my head and it'll 'stick' at least half the day. humming, singing in my head.
My grand parents love Moon River <3 I got lots of those oops photos too :-) Golden Woofs
I don't recognize Bob's song but I love Moon River. I actually said that song on my Wednesday Hodgepodge today!
Well you know I am old...er and yes, I recognize "Moon River"...easy peasy and although the words sound familiar I cannot grab the title from the cobwebs in my head!...:)JP
I must confess that I did not recognize that song - was it Blue Moon?
I have heard Moon River. I usually spend the first hour of work every morning singing the same song over and over. I'm by myself for that hour so I let the loop play...lol

Yes, I know both of these songs and they are good old ones. Didn't Andy Williams do one of the Moon River versions? The last picture is a beautiful sunset, it is certainly NOT a mistake with lights because I know what I see! Ha ha!
They are too old for me, though of course I am familiar with Moon River.
Got to say your photos are really interesting and appealing.
yep, i've heard moon river before and i love it. such mellow, beautiful song...
I love Moon River and now I have it running in my head, especially when it's sung by Ray Charles. I like Cry too and am playing it for hubs. He actually turned the TV off to listen to it :) Thanks Sandra :)
I have to say I remember Moon River very well. I never missed the Andy Williams show when it was on TV. Can't say I was ever real crazy about that song but I did like Andy. So I am old!
I don't remember ever waking with a song in my head but I remember once driving almost 400 miles humming and singing "Home Home on the Range" and no matter how hard I tried to stop the song just kept on and on and on.
I have a lot of Ooopsies. Hugs
I don't know these songs, but I do get songs stuck in my head. :)
Yes, sometimes a song gets stuck in my head all day--or until I hear another. I'm familiar with Moon River, thanks to Breakfast at Tiffany's.
OH NO! Now Moon River is inside my head! ;)
Yep, sure do know "Moon River".
That was around when Jim and I were "going" together. I have heard "Baby, Let your Hair Down and Cry" but could not remember the words! You know what I think? I think you and Bob are romantics. Those songs are beautiful and for him to say or sing it all to you first thing is the morning is so wonderful. Lucky lady, you are!
