Phun Day Part Two...Culvers Yogurt

I know you all lost sleep last night wondering what we were laughing at in line at Culvers... Now...

Picture this... Chubby Old Lady in line with 4 pints of home made yogurt custard stacked in my hands one on top of the other, braced under my chin... it is melt in your mouth good... brahaha

I see four 20 something red neck guys on lunch break from working in the hot Florida sun, thus the name red necks because they were.
The one closest to me Raises His Eyebrows HIGH and laughs
I say
"they are 4.59 a pint but only 9.99 for FOUR"
He says "REALLY? are you sure? 9.99 for Four"

 and then he says

"So are you and 3 of your friends going to sit down with a spoon and finish those off?"

Laughing and Pointing to hubby over by the door, I said

"no, my husband and I are going to eat 2 each, and if we are good, they will last us two days"

He said; " I would eat one of those and start another and when half way through, I would say to myself, there is not enough to save and finish it off"
The cashier jumps in and says, I put one out to soften up so I could eat the whole thing but I got busy and now it is melted..
We are all laughing so hard, Bob is laughing and he has no clue why we are laughing.
When we get in the car I tell him this and we laugh all the way home.
Did I mention it is only 1 mile from home?

Note: I know this doesn't sound funny reading it, but you had to be there, the more we laughed the more we laughed. And Laughed..
Leave it to MadSnapper to raise a ruckus in the burger joint.

Do not even think I am going to share... I have Locked It UP by placing barb wire over our freezer and only I have the combination.

I just looked to find the closet one here by my dad. There is one on Gulf to Bay heading towards Clearwater. I'd love to try one but also I'm interested in the yogurt. Sounds like a fun time!

I don't think we have those stores or joints here in California. Laughing is good I recently had a giggle fit in Albertson's after I stumbled and was caught by three firefighters who were in there shopping. I have made it a fun thing for me and my friend Mary to crush on firefighters. So we giggle at that. Can you see me, alone, biting my tongue, trying to stop my giggle fit. 75 years old, acting like a teenager.

Love me some yogurt 'bout now. It's funny how conversations go tho. I could envision the laughter.

By the way, our late siamese cat LOVED yogurt too. When Erik, my son, would sit down and open a carton, the cat would follow and stare 'til he was done. Then, he'd sit it down on the floor, and she would eat and eat and lick...eventually getting her head stuck in the container. And Erik, laughing before it even happened would laugh MORE...poor cat. How she struggled to get her head free.

You had to be there.

That's a good deal. I would have bought 4 too. I'll have to see if I can find some phun when I go out tomorrow to run my errands. I'm betting I won't though :)

For a minute there, you had me going. Did I really lose an entire day between (your) posts? (Then I saw where you posted the first one at 1AM ... so I'm not really losing my mind. Whew.)

That encounter at Tire Kingdom sounds so cool... like something out of a Hallmark commercial that doesn't ever really happen in real life. Except it did, and I'm so tickled you paid it forward for our behalf. :)

We've not been to Culver's in (oh gosh!) a few years now, and it's right down the road. Hmmmm ...Maybe I'll surprise Tom w/ some of their yogurt for Father's Day.

I'm too tired to laugh after being awake most of the night wondering what y'all were laughing about at Culver's!!!!!

Best,

Sounds like fun. You made a new friend, and connected with lots of others. I love it when people in line chat it up rather than stand there huffing and puffing.

Because you made us aware of the laughter earlier on the whole post does make one feel the laughter.

So we finally got to Culver's yesterday and I had told my family that I wanted to take home some of their frozen yogurt. Now I had been to one of the original Culver's in Milwaukee many, many years ago and I remember their custard machines. In your post you say yogurt custard and while we were talking about it one of their employee's said it is not yogurt. So my family was making fun out of me!! In the original restaurant the custard comes out and goes down metal slides and they pack it from there. It was pretty amazing. I enjoyed my food!!!
