Vintage 1944

June 6, 1944 the newspapers headlines screamed of  D-Day, invasion of Normandy.
Death, War, Chaos

Bread was 9 cents a loaf, Milk 62 cents a gallon Gas was 21 cents a gallon
and a car would be $1220.
Minimum wage was 30 cents

And THEN...
On Sept 5th, 1944 a Baby Was Born

I was born in a war, to really poor parents, and NOTHING Good happened in 1944. I have googled and googled and googled and every single thing that happened in 1944 was BAD....
I googled September , all bad
I googled Sept 5th, all bad
Is it any wonder I have been fearful my whole life?
Afraid of the dark, startle at loud noises, always expecting the worst to happen.
The History Place to see Sept events if you don't believe me.
Good News for Vintage 1944 MadSnapper
I share Sept 5 birthdate with Mother Teresa and Wild West Legend Jessie James.

Is it any wonder I am such a NICE person and  love Westerns?

I googled Famous People Sept 5th birthday... and I found no one I knew and I was SHOCKED that
James Patterson or David Baldacci do not share my birthday..
I just knew there would be a well known list of famous writers like me born on that day.

If you have time try googling 1944 Calendars. OH MY
TOOOO MEEEE

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sis! You are still looking as pretty as ever! This history site is good. You will have to post next what you did today. Hopefully no cooking, housework, or laundry. It's not what's in our lives, it's what we do with it. No summer Olympics! I guess the war...

Yes if Madi is sending something to Jacobson and keeps her mouth open too long a wee bit of potent kitty slobber will drip out...no much though. Mainly a little droplet on upper lip.
That photo was taken when we were sequestered in the master bedroom during the 13 1/2 hour flooring saga. I expect I had eaten lunch then returned to the room....could have possibly been some luncheon meat. LOL

That's SUCH a cool photo of your baby self against the olden letter! :)))

I agree with the others ... 1944 was great because you were born. (Or, like blog friend Jack puts it, "You discovered America.")
Happy birthday pretty lady ... You've only just begun!
