I said it is not noticeable, and took side and front on Thursday which was the 5th day after surgery.. you can see the swelling from the front view and the down dip to his mouth, that is caused by tongue being numb and causing problems chewing.. the beard is a tad mismatched but not noticeable.
We hope that will be gone soon....not bad for 80 I think.

If he thinks he looks bad, he should have seen Phil after his face surgery! Now let's see...the beard helps distract from the swelling. It also makes the mouth droop less noticeable. I didn't even notice the swelling till I read about it. From the front, you can hardly see it.
Maybe he's adorably durable :) From the front view it's not very noticeable at all.
He looks like he is healing quickly.
I noticed the swelling but not the droop or beard.That's good news because the swelling will go away. Either way; adorable from the inside out.

Hello, time will heal and he will be back to normal. I do not see any wrong with the beard. He is adorable and durable. I hate when the dentist numbs my mouth, it feels icky. Tell Bob he better behave himself, at least for a few more days. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!

That scar will fade to nothing in no time! I had my throat cut when I had thyroid cancer and it looked like a railroad track. It faded and no one notices it and haven't for years!
I agree with Ginny! I remember what all Phil went through and it was truly a scary time! Now look at how nice Phil looks!
Hope you will take pics of him so we can see his progress! We want to keep these guys for as long as we possibly can!

He is healing nicely. And he does have a bit of adorable twinkling in those eyes.
Like others have written, I had to go and look carefully at the picture. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been noticeable in the least!

HAHA....you two are a hoot! I love it. He don't need to worry about going out....that is just life but he does need to be sure and cover up in suntan lotion.

Wow, that looks like it would be really sore. Looking at Bob's face not knowing I would never had imagined he had gone through all that he has of late. He looks very good and I hope he is feeling better and better each day. Hugs
