Bob had sinus crud for 9 days before Friday night, Sept, 1 the beginning of THE 3 day HOLIDAY WEEKEND, he did not sleep all night, his shoulder and elbow and neck were so painful he could not sleep. He did not sleep for 4 nights and not even during the day, Saturday am he did not want breakfast, he ate a piece of cheese toast, he laid on the sofa for those 4 days.
On Sept 5th, at the dawning of my 73rd Birthday, Bob said at 5:30 am, I need to go to the doctor. He said the pain was so intense he could not take it any longer. I prepared to order a casket, since he has always said, if I don't eat, you will know to bury me. I dressed in the above NEW never worn Jeggings and the kind of new blouse because ER is always freezing.
We reached ER and 4 hours, numerous tests later, Doc came in and said. "I can tell you it is not a stroke, it is not heart, it is not a blood test, his lungs are clear, his x-ray and blood work are perfect. My BEST GUESS is muscle spasms, you can go home and I will give you muscle relaxers.
The pills helped him sleep, and relax, he started to eat his meals but the pain continued and still does as I type. I, the internet trained Doctor, have diagnosed it as a pinched nerve.
Hating the photos, I went out side. OH MY even worse
If this was not boring enough I am sharing The Cabinet That is Ready for IRMA... all those coffee cans I save because i can't bare to part with them, are now full of water and snuggled next to 5 gallons of water in there at all time, because We Never Know what can and will happen to this firm believer in Murphy's Law. THINK last week the water went off 3 times that week because of roadwork..
While making coffee a few minutes ago for tomorrow morning. Boom! I had a super duper IDEA.
Just before Irma gets here, I will make Two Pots of Coffee, and sit them on the stove, and when the power fails???? cold coffee is better than no coffee when we wake up. IF we sleep! I hope coffee doesn't go bad, because I will drink it. We are Prepared and waiting. If possible I will post updates on FB and blog to let you know what is what...

NOTE: all this stuff is happening while watching Hurricane Harvey Horror, and also watching Hurricane IRMA head our way....

Now We Wait, we wait and watch the storm and I watch Bob...
JUST SO YOU KNOW...
The photos above were taken by Madsnapper, using the timer on camera that she had never used before, running all over the kitchen trying to show you all my jeans and new blue blouse that I intended to wear to Culvers for a Birthday Burger. The Birthday That Wasn't.
Hating the photos, I went out side. OH MY even worse
I hope Rebecca and Mersad do not see this photo, but the camera was on a small table. |

I love these pictures of you, and have enlarged each and every one. The first two collages are my favorites, and I think they are the best. You have skinny legs and are THIN! You have long thin legs like a model. You look great in the leggings!!! I think the very first collage is my favorite. I am praying for you, Bob, and the house! LOVE the first blouse!!! And you know I love the blue lace one.
Haha I saw the photo Sandra, and there is nothing wrong with it! :D
I hope you and Bob stay safe in that horrid weather!

Hello, I thin you look really cute in the leggings and the blue top. I am glad it was not something more serious for Bob. Even pain is nothing to smile about, it could be worse. I hope you both stay safe, when is the hurricane suppose to hit, this weekend? My thoughts and prayers will be with you and all the people living in Florida. Take Care and well wishes for Bob.
Glad to see you have made preparations and praying 'Irma' keeps you on her westside. Or even better that she goes out to sea (Atlantic). You and Bob have had 'enuff already' as the saying goes.
Well, you've certainly had an exciting birthday--just not in a good way!! I hope Bob gets some relief soon and that you get a Culver burger soon. Batten down the hatches and put the coffee in the refrigerator. However, I don't think coffee will spoil even sitting out. Will say a prayer for your health and safety.
Best,
Bonnie
I do love the pictures of you! Congratulations on having the will power to stick to your diet. I share a little of your anxiety about Bob and Irma. I am glad that Dr said not another stroke cause .I sure wondered,
Seems like every update looks more menacing for Florida and now Georgia! Thinking of you and also my family in Ga.
You look great on losing all the weight. Congrats.
Happy birthday.
Glad Bob is okay.
And I hope you will be okay during the storm - I pray so!

I do like that blue top! I have almost a whole case of water left over from last year's hurricane, so all I had to do was get some non-perishable foods. That is a good idea about the coffee. I bought some bottled Starbucks coffee just in case. It's supposed to be cold when you drink it, so if my power goes off, it will still be good. Good luck during the storm!
Oh my stars what a traumatic last few months you and Bob had have then add in this Bitty Irma!! Blue is your color and yes cold caffeine is better than no caffeine. I think I might do exactly what you did. When Fran passed thru Raleigh in 1996 it was d a y s before I had hot coffee
Hugs Cecilia
Sorry that Bob is still not better. Right now that darm Irma is heading all up FL and it is so worrisome. Since there is no really high ground I hope flooding will not hit you. Are you away from the beach? You are on my mind for days now. I love your jeggings. Time release a new skill -go figure. Fanrastic
Love the leggings!!!! Very warm and great looking.
I'm sorry about Bob. I can attest that nerve pain is the worst kind in the world. There are meds that might help it - I know from my experiences... so he might consider seeing a non-ER doc for a (maybe) longer term solution.
I sure hope that Irma misses you! I am the same way about coffee but we have a camping stove that we can use if all else fails. Sending you good thoughts. Perhaps you can have your birthday on another day... after all this bad stuff passes.
You look great. Blue is definitely your color. I still hope that the weather will settle some before it reaches landfall.
I think you look great in all these photos. Talk about a stressful birthday. I hope by the time you write another post he will be like himself. Those pinched nerves cab be a bear. Hope you are feeling okay. I will be keeping you in my thoughts during Irma too. I read somewhere to fill up the ziplock bags with water and put them in the freezer.
I am so concerned for you guys. Sorry about the bday also but glad that Bob was not having a stroke of heart attack. But a muscle spasm or pinched nerve is nothing to ignore...oh what am I saying, you pretty much can't ignore them. Stay safe.
You look great in those pictures. Ive been thinking about you and hoping youstay safe through Irma. The coffee won't go bad. I dont drink a whole pot before it gets cold so the next day I'm reheating in the microwave.
Thanks for the updates, Sandra, and before I forget to say it: You look FABULOUS!
I know how concerned you are about Bob and now having to deal with an evil Irma. We are keeping everyone in its path in our thoughts and prayers and have contacted family and friends and will do so on the weekend as well. I've heard that the temperatures are very HOT right now so getting ready with water was a good idea. And, Grenville/Pat usually drinks cold coffee in the afternoon so it should be OK and we hope you all will be as well.
I love that blouse...you can see the weight just melting off of you Sandra!
Sending prayers and good thoughts that you stay safe during the storm!
Well you're looking fantastic, Sandra, but that's no way for you and Bob to celebrate your birthday!! I hope he's feeling better. Sounds like the docs think he's healthy in every way - except in pain! It's so wise to fill up all your containers with water. I'm not sure that Irma is as predictable as they like to think. Stay safe. Have been praying for you and will continue to!
Happy belated birthday, you look so good in the blue blouse. I didn't know Bob was ill, sounds like a pinched nerve to me too. I agree with the coffee idea. I put some in the freezer too. If the power goes out there's always coffee. I pray that you guys will be OK as this storm blankets your state.
Happy Birthday! - You look great in both tops. The floral one is my favorite. Sorry to hear Bob has not been feeling well. I hope the pain goes away soon.
Also praying you will all be safe there as Irma hits. So very scary.
In the middle picture of the first collage, you look super slim! and I bet you would in a more tight-fitting top as well... Love that one that you're wearing though, the colours and pattern, and looking comfortable too. - Must be a surreal situation to be in, waiting for that horrible storm and with Bob poorly and all. If you have a thermos or two, I'd suggest using those for keeping coffee/water warm. I usually do when we have warnings ahead of power outage.
First of all ... thank God for the muscle relaxers! (Did you consider sharing, so as to calm your own nerves?)
You look wonderful! Methinks now, you need some French fries to go with that Culvers burger. :)
I say I don't care for blue -- probably because I look ghastly in it -- but it really becomes you.
Great readiness tips! Regardless where we live, I can't abide the thought of being coffee-less!
i second eileen's comment. you look great in that blue top and those leggings.
happy birthday!
hope you both stay safe, my thoughts and prayers will be with you.
take care!
(((hugs)))
A sad time for a birthday but your blue top is beautiful. Sorry to hear about Bob. So poor thing you have two worries :Bob and Irma. Good luck and take care. Thinking of you
