Saturday AM driving home from Walmart, I felt something stinging me on my back, 3 mile trip and when I got home, it was an ant. We are fighting ants in the kitchen, I am allergic to bug spray, we are using vinegar as a spray, full strength and sprinkling Borax in out of the way places that BB can't reach... Evidently one rode on my shirt to WM and all the hour plus walk and waited until I crushed him by leaning on him...
The Good news is, now I have something else to remind myself of when The Man gets on my Last Nerve... Without him, who would dab ammonia on 8 ant bites on my back?
Also that same day, he had to use a needle to pick a thorn out of my foot. My dad used to do that job, now it belongs to Bob. You would think I would have learned that going barefoot for 74 years ends up with a needle.
Now I have 2 things to add to the pros and cons of living with The Man. 😁😁😁😁

What a bad day you have had!!! Did the ant really bite you? I recently read another way to get rid of them. Soak cotton balls in pure peppermint oil. Put them around the kitchen where the ants will be. I love this sun! Looks vaguely Mexican.
Oh those ants are a pain. I'm always worried about putting stuff out to get rid of them because of Gibbs.
Bob is a very handy guy to have around. Keep all those things in mind when he's wearing away at that last nerve....lol
Hello, lovely sights from your walk. I like the lamppost and the cute sun ornament. I have heard a baking soda paste helps with bites too. Ginny's idea of the peppermint oil cotton balls is great. Have a happy day!
What pretty phtots today. I really like the sunshine face.
Dang bugs now I am itching and saying ouch.
Thank you for your compliment on my header. I took the pic fall 2011 at Leadmine Lake about 4 blocks from here. I always thought it would be a good header but it needed the perfect background. I found it in Pizap
Hugs HiC
I know what you mean about the men, we couldn't do without them could we even if they are so annoying sometime. lol

dang... hope there is no lingering itch. Love that sunshine! YAM xx
Now methinks I need to keep a Pro/Con list! :))) Ammonia, hmm?
When we began to spot ants (in Arizona) Tom's sis recommended TERRO drops. Works like a charm and there's no discernable 'aroma.' I'm hyper sensitive re. any pesticide that might harm Macie and Grace.
Awesome...so proud of you for walking. ANTs.....ANTs......I dislike ants. Had to worst time with them this past spring and summer. Usually I get early spring, pretty sure they reside under the house, but usually a couple weeks and they are gone. This yr....way into July. I am a firm believer that they are plotting to take over the world! Great pics along your walk..
I would give him a Yankee dime! hahaha! Ask him if he knows what that is! And enjoy your day. We're off to hike at Blue Run after lunch! Hugs!
Thumbs up for the Man, thumbs down for the Ants :)
Ants do not like diatomaceous earth and it does not harm pets or people.
Love that you had some man assistance.
Man...sometimes we can't live with them...but we can't live without them.
You've got a good one there.
Sorry about the ants and the horrible bites.
Love the things you see on your one mile walk.
Down a pound today...yeah...Behaving sure makes a difference...only a gazillion to go!!
Florida has the WORST ants...I still remember the agony I felt after stepping in an fire-ant mound when I was four at my grandparents house in Pensacola....and hate ants to this day! Give me a spider any day, but ants give me the woogies!
I go barefooted all the time. Once stubbed by big toe so hard I had an in-grown toenail from it. My husband's grandmother swore I was barefooted under my wedding dress. lol
eight ant bites? NASTY!!!
Thanks for your kind words last week! So VERY much appreciated...
Sorry about the ant bite. Yes the pro and cons list works for me too!
I have the same pros and probably the same cons as you do.
So vinegar gets ants. And ammonia works for bug bites?
I will have to try those.
Oh dear, that sounded painful. I've never been bitten by a fire but I don't think we get them this far north. No expert. We do get ants in the summer but not as bad as we used to thank goodness. I've heard that if you plant mint that is a deterrent. I cannot verify as have never planted mint before. Also peppermint spray? Do they work? Who knows!
