The first picture I thought maybe it was a real person, the second I knew it was a nurse and by the third I knew it had to be a statue of that famous kiss.
I love it! Was just visiting with the Frog and Penguin (I think I saw you had been there as well) and her vintage photo from 1944. I love looking back in time....
Oh how I would love to see this in person. What an iconic statue. I guess that the mistletoe would be huge, for sure. Love going back into the archives for photos I haven't seen for quite a while. Gotta start digging for some for future postings. We got our predicted rain and its still dripping...not hard...but still wet and gray. Have a good day Sandra.
I remember my mother wearing those seamed stockings! Wow. As many times as I've been in Sarasota, I don't recall this statue. Unless, is it near the round-about going to St. Armand's?
I loved when I saw this in Sarasota, Florida. Do you know that recently the man who was in the photo for this statue passed away and someone wrote on it for the #METOO campaign. (Now I know there are other ones like this so I'm not positive it happened to the Florida one.) The Me too campaign thinks that he was being disrespectful to the woman he kissed. They are going to far!!!
Thanks for sharing this statue,Sandra, I know that it represents the famous photo taken in NYC celebrating the end of WW II. It's quite amazing and maybe when we get to FL we will try and look it up.
I'm sure I saw that statue in San Diego years ago, at least something very similar. It is a take on that iconic photo at the end of WWII isn't it? Your mistletoe comment gave me a chuckle too. I love your sense of humor.

Love it. Is this a replica of the same one so famous at san diego harbor? There is one I saw there...so similar!
How about the size of their shoe? We ould orobably sleep in one.
How beautiful! I love the old fashioned uniforms! Enjoy your day! We're getting a little rain this morning...we need it too!
Hello,
Love the statue. Great snaps of the soulmates. Enjoy your day!
Your archives are full of treasures.
I recall those pesky seams in stockings.
Hugs Cecilia

Oh My! At first I thought you had ventured out of the southeast to California...I have visited the same exact statue in San Diego!
Such a wonderful statue it is!

I had no idea what this was until the end. I think I heard that the man in that photo just died. If I am correct.
