Old Age IS....

Old age is, Well... exhausting.   We start out exhausted, because we are ummm… OLD.

Added to the Old thing, we get even more exhausted running back to the store to get the potato that was not on the list to go with the Steak and salad that was on the list. The reason we forgot the potato is we did nor remember to put it on the list.  And even if it was on the list, it might have happened anyway.

Now add a trip to return what we picked up that we thought was one thing and turns out to be another...  They keep changing the familiar packages which flips a switch on our memory cells.

Yet another trip to Publix, to pick up prescriptions and having parked within spitting distance of CVS, which is the ONLY STORE in town that sells the nose drops my husband can't live without, I drive home without the nose drops...

I say I say! its Exhausting!   If you wondered why the raining on traffic photo above, it is to say while all this is happening it is raining. Can you say Rain and Traffic? Yes! Seniors do take photos through the windshield..

I know the feeling. You are not old...the rain just distracted you.

Frustrating times for all us oldies. This is a common experience for many of us I'm sure. We are even getting congestion in sleepy Queensland.

In one way I’m so happy to read this post. We keep asking ourselves why o why are we so tired all of the time. But of course you are so right, we are just plain old but that doesn’t stop it being so annoying.
We go shopping, come in and slump down on the sofa in the kitchen and very often drop of to sleep for 1 hour before unpacking, lol
In our heads we decide to do so much but never achieve it.
Nobody tells you about this beforehand do they?
Great post

I do that but rarely run back out unless I can't live without what I forgot. I like Ginnys reason for why you forgot the stuff. You've just got a water logged brain.

Hello

This sounds just like hubby and I. Hopefully the things we forget are not too important. I do not like having to keep running to the store, it is a 15-20 minute drive for us. Have a happy day!

You know what they say - misery loves company. Therefore I find this post uplifting in knowing we are not alone. Would that we could all have my husband's attitude.
I asked him the other day what we will do when it gets worse. He said 'have fun'.

As to the windshield, I have missed a few great photos due to a windshield in need of a good cleaning. (bugs)

And I am worn out just with reading this! What a frustrating type of day that is...and yes, I have done things similar.

Ha there is a story on the internet like that - we get tired because we are always running trips because we forgot! Cute and I am the same way!

whew, you make me tired.
Yup, my brain cells seem to be deminishing daily.
After being with my friend with early Alzheimer's last night it makes me thankful my brain works as well as it does.
It's so sad when the memory goes.
We had a tiny slice of banana cream pie last night and 15 minutes later she asked for some dessert. Haden't a clue she had just finished some.
Makes me cry. (:0(

Oh yes, I can relate. Raining up here too but it is in the 70s today so that is nice.

That is exhausting. Don't like when that happens. Today I am going to the gym and no place else! Errands are exhausting.

Oh I hear you!! I try to lump all my errands in one trip...but alas something is forgotten and it is never at the store that is closest.
thus far this week we have avoided traffic in the rain. Our storms have been late afternoon

I really shouldn't be laughing. THIS resonates so much!
We went to Wal-Mart bright and early yesterday. One-and-done! Except, come sundown I asked Tom what he'd done with the detergent … the toothpaste … the lens solution. Jump in the car and of course, they have no record of those items being turned in at customer service. Thankfully, they saw our receipt -- and figuring we couldn't be so dumb as to make up that kind of story -- told us to just go get the items in question.

Those sort of days are tiring. I double check my receipt and goods before leaving a store when we do a weekly shop. If we leave and go home there's often a problem with some item, usually something that Hubby has slipped into the cart. Hubby would leave without checking and then we would have to return and sort it out with the staff at the info desk. Trawling around different shops to get those special items is exhausting too, especially when not under cover and it's raining. Today the sun is shining, it's the Bank Holiday weekend and I'm at home resting. Unfortunately we forgot to get milk in so someone (Hubby) will have to go out so we can have our morning cuppa!

Louis Dean and I seldom ever return anything! I don’t know why we don’t but we don’t! Now Amber and Summer make returns on a regular basis!
