Pie in the SKY

Bob's favorite pie is this Sweet Tater Pie by Patti La Belle. He gets 1 sweet per week, it has to be divided into 7 days of dessert.  Each night at 5 pm, he eats 1/7 of the pie. On Wed night, I saw him eat a bowl of fluff. No Pie. Thursday night I saw him looking for a Fruit bar which is back up for when there is nothing sweet in the house.

I said, why aren't you eating your pie?  He replied, You did not buy one!... What? I did buy one.

The missing pie was found in the back of the KIA, having sat there since Tuesday, at 7 AM.

Sitting it on the counter I said, I don't think it is safe to eat it. 58 hours in a hot car/garage is not good.

It was safe to eat because he ate the last piece Sunday night and is still alive.

Now I am wondering just how come it is gone when he started it on Thursday.

by my calculations that is FOUR nights, hummmm   Maybe he said, hi there cuttie pie, I have fillings for you. The pie might have replied, You Want a piece of ME???     Bob replied, I only have pies for you!

I have heard of her pies, they are supposed to be excellent. But I have never seen one in any store. I would have never in a million years even licked the fork that touched that pie. Bob must have a cast iron stomach.

I'm glad you found it and that it was safe to eat!

For us, it would have gone from the KIA to the trash - Bob was brave eating it. Guess he figured 3 days in the garage, he'd make up FOUR the lost time.

Any way you slice it, this made me giggle with all the puns.
That's one way to get warm pie. Usually it's straight out of the oven and not the Kia.

Bob must really love that pie. I am not sure after sitting in the car for a few days. I have never heard of the Patti La Belle pies.
I am glad Bob was ok after eating his pie. Enjoy your day!

Oh my word...in the car for 58 hours...hilarious and I wonder why Bob didn't question his weekly pies absence...

It only baked more! Bob probably ate it hoping to not give it a chance to go bad...

How funny! Again, our hubbies sound like brothers from different mothers. Day before yesterday I asked Tom to "come smell" the suspicious-looking chuck (aka, loose meat). "Naw, it's fine." All the same, I fried it almost black.

One of these days I'm going to have to try sweet potato pie. Neither Tom or I like sweet potatoes; hence, our reluctance. But I just Googled it and they claim it tastes a lot like pumpkin. I'm reminded, all those years I refused to eat carrot cake because I disliked carrots -- and now, it's one of my favorites.

Sandra, he probably just wanted to eat it more quickly so it wouldn't go bad! :D This reminds me, I don't have any sweet potatoes in the house just now, but I have canned pumpkin in the pantry, so I think it's time for pie! (PS I'm doing a great giveaway this week to cheer people up!)

I honestly might not have eaten it - but Bob was brave. He must have doubled up his eating there.

Desperate times call for Desperate measures....
Oh dear, I don't think I would have eaten it either.
Love the puns about that adventure though.
This kind of reminds me of Dave. He has his 1 mini hershey bar every night after dinner. It seems to satisfy his sweet tooth without being too bad for him.
Its a really beautiful day today. We are looking forward to a walk around the neighborhood and doing a little yard work in the front yard. The big tree we have in front always drops a huge amount of fuzzy blobs all over everything this time of year. Pollen galore and stains the sidewalk too. We need to get it up before the forecasted showers this weekend. Don't think they will happen but just in case..
Hope you are hanging in there...
Take care
Sue

Wasn't he just making up for lost time -- lost pie?

Oh, I somehow came upon a blogpost of all your creations, the cards you made with biblical quotes - I loved them all. Just wanted to let you know.

That's funny! But am happy there were no after effects. Sounds like a great pie. I've never had one of those before, though I love sweet potatoes.
