No Mo TP

Charming photo of Bob's Charmin in our 1970's Gold Bathroom

During the recent  TP Crisis, Calamity, Catastrophe, call it what you may, I purchased several Packages of Toilet Paper Because it was the ONLY BRAND on the shelf..........

This past week, having used all of my favorite TP Angel Soft,( I managed to stretch 8 rolls, 3 months) I opened pkg. and placed four rolls under my bathroom sink where they live.

The first time I used it, It felt like I had taken a sheet of the paper we stuff in boxes when we wrap presents and  that paper was a hybrid
 genetically mixed with an alligator.
About half way through that first roll, I thought

OMW! how many did I buy? What is this stuff?

I ran to Bob's bathroom and his felt soft, checked the brand and it was not his favorite Northern, but The Blue Bear Stuff, called Charmin.

I then rushed to the closet now known as C-V19 storage bin, and discovered that I had ONLY FOUR more rolls of  alligator paper,
AKA
Great Value 1000.

The clue was in a gold circle that said SEPTIC SAFE.

I was so relieved I nearly passed out when I saw that the pack of 48 was Northern

2 packs of 12 were Angel Soft

and the Super Mega Rolls are Charmin...

Since my computer is right beside C-V19 closet, I am now wondering just how many rolls I have.

One says 12 Jumbo rolls = 26 regular rolls Angel Soft

6 Super Mega = 36 regular and a bigger AND taller CHARMIN

12 Mega rolls = 48 regular Northern

SOOOO
Do I have 29 rolls?
Or do I have 110 regular rolls?

NOTE I did not count the 4 rolls of Septic Safe because they are in the back of the closet waiting until I am Desperate
OR we move to a home with a septic tank....
PRE Covid-19, I never had more than an 8 pack for each bathroom.
Can someone help me figure out this problem.
If 8 rolls lasted 3 months, how long will 110 rolls last me?
No Wait! we have to KNOW were they Jumbo? Mega? Super Mega?

(toleit paper in case there is anyone the planet that doesn't know what TP is)

Interesting you should post this right now. I have an allergy to Charmin, which has bits of plastic in it. So do lots of others. For me, my favs are Angel Soft, Northern, and Cottonelle. We got these mega rolls the other day, they are huge! One in the package is bigger then the others, and is too tight on the roll to unwind. We have lots of T.P., and are still buying more for the big second wave. I am no good at all at math, even diets that involve math, so can't help you here. Other than to say that no matter how many you have, buy MORE.

isn>'t that amazing how important TP became during the last months? we bought tp with peppa pig... it was on offer, so I thought why not... but it is a weird feeling to use a piggy to clean this area LOL... who got such ideas to print tv characters on tP?

They deliberately make it confusing so I buy what I like and don't worry about it. I'm pleased that TP is back on the shelves at our store now. Little luxuries. :)

I use as little as possible - mainly for environmental reasons... India taught me that water works best! However, some paper to dab dry is required. And the quality does tend to matter. I have no idea about the numbers of sheets. I do know that one roll of ours lasts me about 10+ days (with just me using it). YAM xx

What a subject you have here Sandra, lol
After the shortage I have now stocked up in case the virus comes back but I just grabbed what i could so have no idea of its softness etc.
Guess anything is better than nothing though.
You made me laugh first thing in the morning with this post, so a good start to the day, let's hope it doesn't go down hill, lol

To me, tp is tp. But, I enjoyed this ... so early, I feel your math question is like calculus. I never was any good with calculus!

My favorite is Angel Soft but I wasn't able to get it the last time and bought some odd brand from the store I work at. It was pretty close to Angel Soft. I once bought a generic that was supposed to be comparable to Angel Soft and it wasn't even close. I have most of the pack of that in the bottom of my closet to use only if I run out of Angel Soft and have no other choice but to use it.
TP math is the most confusing math there is.

Hello,

We were regularly buying the Wegman's brand of TP. It is soft enough.
We have a septic tank and have to be careful what goes inside. At one point during the last 3 months, we bought what ever kind was left sitting on the shelf. We tend to buy TP during every Wegmans shop.
Enjoy your day, have a great new week ahead!

I've noticed that the rolls all have different numbers of sheets on each roll and different numbers of layers. We had some off brand that was kind of amazing in that as one used it it turned into a type of clumping papier mache/drywall textured product. That was during the worst time of the tp shortage around here. I must say those rolls of tp lasted a super long time. I don't know if it was because of that strangely absorbent texture, or because we were so careful to use just the very smallest number of squares we could get by with because we were afraid of drywalling the inside of our plumbing pipe that is outside underground. So far, so good, knock on wood. I hope I don't jinx us.

Our house plumbing used to be so sensitive that we could only use one type of Northern, which we haven't seen around here since the Covid first started. Luckily we got a new toilet last year which flushes with such force that it may be launching our waste into the stratosphere for all I know.

I don't know whether to me more envious of your TP supply or your storage space!!!
Except for that awful DollarTree stuff I panic-purchased, we've only ever used Charmin. And I goofed Big Time with that, not realizing there's the 'soft' (remember Mr. Whipple, Don't Squeeze the Charmin commercials?) we usually get and 'strong.' Ugh! You described the latter so well … alligator paper. I just noticed Tom took the next to last roll, so I might try Angel Soft or Cottonelle.

First of all I don't believe they are three times the size of normal rolls...I have been using toilet paper and don't ever remember having rolls that small. I seriously wonder if they are any bigger at all. LOL I know they are shorter. Do you know how I know? Because of the place where I store opened packages. Used to be I could only stack two rolls, I think there was one brand I could stack three. Now any brand I get I can stack three high with room to spare. And I honestly wonder if they are a tad bit smaller now.

I did google it a few months ago, and according to that it was narrower by about half an inch.

I started building a supple one year...and was so glad I had it when my leg was broke. And I just always keep it built up.

Oh Sandra, you make me laugh...Now no one is even talking about TP anymore.
I'm terrible at math so I'll not even attempt to figure your problem out.
I would say you are good ...for the duration...
I think I have 2 eight packs of Charmin in my cupboard.
I haven't bought any for a very long time.
Off brands may be cheaper but oh my the Tush can only take so much...
I hate the thought of grocery shopping but I definitely have to do it in the next day or two...I'll check out the TP aisle and see hat they have.

We buy Charmin at Costco although we have some Trader Joe brand that we haven't used yet. We do have some extra now but I think we would still have been okay with what we had before the shut down at Costco in February. My daughter bought these huge industrial rolls which she said are horrible. She bought them in the time of panic. Cost her a lot of money also.

We are Charmin fans too but I haven't seen that brand for a while now. Haven't had any sand paper yet. I remember the days when that's all we could get :)

Wow that is too much TP. We never have more than a 12 pack and it lasts. Our house has 3 1%2 bathrooms. When my daughter visits somehow she manages to visit them all over her 3 to 4 day stay and I have to fill each one with a full new role. I cannot figure that out. When it is just us each lasts over a week or more.we use the recycled one as Charmain uses up lovely forest wood according to a documentary we watched. But I admit it occasionally ends up in my shopping basket when the price is lower than my usual. Gotta
Be honest. I like savings even if it may not help the planet. Sorry.
