Each day when I log onto my desk top, beautiful photos pop up by Bing. This one amazed me.
I had no idea these bridges existed.
Living Bridges in India that cross over water, made of living roots from live trees.
Below they used Banyan Tree roots.
this is in the wettest place on the planet, with 40 FEET of water a year.
I found this amazing.
these bridges can hold an entire herd of elephants.
Nature at its finest with help from Humans. WOW

We saw a show about this once, and how the people had made it. Would YOU walk across one? This photo has not been on my Bing desktop yet.
Fantastic. At 15 years to grow they are not for people who don't want to wade through the stream next week, but they make excellent use of local resources.

For those who thought 'not sturdy' - Banyan roots are incredibly strong and woven like this only increases that by distributing any load put upon it. These natural bridges of all types are simply beautiful and a fine example of mankind WITH nature instead of riding roughshod against it! YAM xx
Ah-mazing! At first I was aghast, nervous those elephants might someday go crashing down into the river ... but no, you clearly wrote LIVING roots.
