You know I love dogs, so we start here, a photo of a dog and a story about dog food.
I realized even though I ordered the 40 lb bag of dog food and it got here 2 days before Bob's surgery, I forgot to get him to put the food into the 3 five gallon containers it lives in.
He can man handle and pour it.
I open the cabinet on the day Bob is in surgery and the dog food container is empty.
I go to the garage to refill it and there sits
The Big Bag.
I can't pick it up.
It is 10 feet away from the containers it needs to be in.
Open dog food bags in garage all out to critters.
I walk it side to side, drag, walk it, drag walk it , drag to the 3 containers.
I fight the bag,
in fact may have cursed the bag and whomever made it so tuff I can't tear it.
Remember!
EVERYTHING/anything can an will get on my last nerve.
I rant to myself while transferring dog food 2 cups at a time from the bag that
could survive a trip to the space station,
on the out side of the rocket ship!
I would tell you friend that live in other countries what the equivalent to 2 cups is, but that would get on my last nerve!
to look it up would/could cause another rant!
the dog was fed, the man came home, we all survived

Good grief, I would be SO frustrated! AND the bigger the bag is, the easier they should make it to open. Your first photo is so beautiful, I thought it was a postcard. You live in such a beautiful place. But that is why all the retired people go there to live.
I get that!! Now I order cat food and cat litter through Amazon and Louis Dean brings them inside the house. I guess I'd have to order smaller sizes just so I could handle them if I didn't have him. Right now I have another month to go before I can lift more than 10 pounds and bend, twist and exercise or pull things. That is so hard! But I do NOT want to tear my stitches or undo all the surgery did for me. I need to get creative in how to do what needs to be done without great strength!
It sort of creeps up on you (well creeps up on 'one' but that sounds like the Queen) the realization that somewhere in the past you needed to design ways of managing stuff you used to do with brute force - like lifting 40lbs - or manage easily like balancing on a stool to reach the top cupboard (why are there such things as top cupboards that can only be reached by steady people standing on small ladders?) I could go on and on, but we all know that the limits move towards us as we age and one day the easy thing isn't and we haven't designed a work around.... i love it that 'prime waterfront is public property; best use i could think of for it. I hear you... the dog food store changed to GLS and this idiot placed the food in front of the door... I had to wait for mark. in the rain the box got wet and as he lifted it up the box broke and a gazillion of cans landed on his feet...crapola... (I laughed anyway)
Hello,
It is wonderful to have the prime waterfront views open to the public.
The weight limit for me to lift anything could be no more than 20lbs, even that would be too heavy. I would have to take a pair of scissors to open any bag, even a bag of chips. It feels good to rant. Take care, have a happy day!
It's me and the huge bags of cat litter...so heavy & they flip every which way before they settle on solid ground! I hear ya.
Pretty waterfront scene.
That is one pretty view from the hospital. That's awesome that it's there for people to enjoy as well.
Things like the big heavy bag of dog food are what usually make me break down these days. Any time I have to do something that normally Wade would have taken care of and I find very difficult to do send me into tears.
Oh, I know the feeling. Our water softener needs a leak fixed...but I have not got it fixed because the pellets only come in 40 lb. Bags and thst is more than I can carry down stairs. It is more than I can carry into the house.
That's a gorgeous waterfront scene!
Love your segue from the pooch checking his pee-mail to your one-on-one with the dog food. And here I was feeling angry (and a little sorry for myself) over a 15# bag. No-one to blame but myself for ordering the wrong thing. Not the weight so much as finding sealed containers for it all.
I can't imagine a 40#-er. Were your arms sore for days?
MS your vistas continue to delight me and your words amuse me
Hugs Cecilia and I hope you are feeling better

I use cup measurements - that's how it's done in OZ too so I got used to it. Bummer about that bag of food. YAM xx
That's a beautiful photo of the waterfront - the first shot - and I'm so sorry to hear of these struggles with heavy lifting situations. There should be a better way to get into bags and boxes. My problem is opening screw tops on bottles as I have weak wrists. As for Hubby it's difficult to get him to not do heavy work when he's not well. Take care both of you.
The Battle of the Bulky Bags! And the kibble is winning! What we do for our doggies!
I too say excellent use of the waterfront :)
Wow...heavy bags and unopenable things..I hear ya.
Life is always a challenge..40 pounds is a whole lotta heavy.. I was wondering what all that @34%%%++**^% was that I heard coming from your direction..(:0)

I am so glad you found a way, even though it was a VERY aggravating time...you are one tough cookie!!
Plus, you take such beautiful pictures!
What a mess about the bag, but I like the public having access to the waterfront. Take care. ❤️
It's like those manufacturers who put those screw tops with a flip lid and tiny hole on plastic mayo etc with one of those pneumatic tire things! I have a strength hand disability which means I can't easily access actual bottle. I usually buy a different type but last online shop this stupid substitute came...
So totally get your dog bag and tuff non tear top opening
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Surviving a trip to the space station, sorry but I had a good laugh at that. Hope things are going smoother for you now.
Oh my! Sorry you had to deal with that. That was a lot of work. Glad things are getting back to normal now.
