Day After Ian, The Pool

Where do we start?
The pool was first because the longer the debris is in the water the greener it gets.
The pool had to be so we could get in and cool off while working the next 8 days.
Total 10 days to clean up the mess.
WE ARE BLESSED....
You can't see the limbs that were under the water. the pool is 10 feet deep at the end where bob is and 5 feet at the other end.
It took both of us EIGHT hours to get the pool empty. He would hook the limb and drag it up so I could grab a part and hold until both of us could drag them out.
He scooped, I dragged them to the gate and made a pile, when most of it was out, I dragged all the limbs to the curb while he brushed and skimmed  and

he got in the pool to kick the rest to the shallow end.

Below is second day! the shadow on the bottom top is DIRT

Unbelievable! And how do you get the dirt out? I could see a tree down in the first pic. Was that a narrow miss for the neighbour? Hard to belive you can get the pool from green to clean without draining it and starting again. We hope you got some calming dips in after all that. xxx Mr T and F

What a difference! I can see that all took a lot of hard work to get it the way it looks now. Hope you aren’t as sore as you have been.

My gosh...a true job of work!!

Just regular maintenance on a pool is hard enough work. This was quite a mess you had to clean up. It really does sound exhausting. You two did a great job of getting it cleaned up though

I could imagine the scene after the hurricane hit and now your photos give us the stark reality of what you had to do to clear up the mess. Falling trees and branches are what I worried about most for you in that situation. I know you're both bruised and battered in body and mind so do take care, rest as much as you can.

Like Tigger, I imagine you will now have to drain and clean before refilling the pool? Or is there a magic water vac that can cope with that muck? No wonder you are exhausted... YAM xx

Hello,
You are a good team, working together. So much debris and dirt, you did a great job. That your downed tree or a neighbors? Were the neighbors out there cleaning up too? Rest up and take care. Hope you have a great day!

What a job! I know I really cannot imagine it. I would be too sore to move.

Ugh, what an ordeal!
At any point did it cross your mind to just pull the plug and start over? I'm shuddering to think what it would have cost to pay someone to do what y'all accomplished.

I am giving you and Bob a standing ovation. OMDs what a huge job that must have been. I remember saying at first you couldn't find chemicals for the pool water...so happy it was ready when you needed to cool off

That looked like a tremendously huge job. So was the water safe for Bob to be in? Glad you have that cleaned to cool off.

Wow what a job!!
I don't blame you for being sore and tired.
We're too old for that kind of work!
