Logs We Cut

Above is the PILE that I dragged out to the curb. Below are the logs that Bob cut with his electric saw which was amazing that he could do that. It's a small electric chainsaw! The good news is he did all the cutting without cutting himself and the only injuries were my shoulder. And of course, we are both sore. I got my shoulder by dragging those logs the smaller ones and he carried the big ones, and I went out to take a picture to show you the pile and the logs together and someone during the night had taken every single one of the logs. We assume they were going to use them for their fireplace. But you can see the amount of work that did a number on my shoulder. I also carried trash cans full of leaves I roll them out there and then I picked up the end of it and dumped it on top of the pile. Not something seniors usually do

These photos are the trunk, minus branches which stabbed our legs to the point of looking like we were shot with buckshot from a shot gun
Every thing we dragged to the curb and there is much more than this, is Still there and has been since Sept 29th.

wow that is a lot.... it#s sad that we pay the price so often in pains after such a work... but at least no one got hurt whole working with sharp stuff....

The main thing is, that particular job is done. And no major injuries. There is a bright side if you search for it. Bud and I did this 5 years ago when Harvey came thru, so I know the pain.

Hello,
I am sorry you are in so much pain. The pile is huge, it is hard work.
We usually pay someone to drop off a cord of wood for our wood stove.
I hope you and Bob feel better soon. Take care, have a great day!

That is a huge pile. No wonder you two are sore from doing all that work.
I find it irritating that people would take things in the night rather than have the decency to knock and the door and ask.

You certainly have been busy, and it is no wonder your shoulder has protested. I send some POTP for it to recover soon. YAM xx

I feel sore just thinking about all you have done.

You can both qualify as loggers now, Sandra, and with all the resulting aches and pains. Too bad it's too warm in FL for a fireplace...but maybe someone will pick them up for outside fire places?

So sorry that you had no one to help!
You did hard work, hope you can get some rest.

Wowzer! Those photos are sure a testament to what y'all endured.
I'm surprised you and Beau weren't awakened by the noise those midnight loggers/looters were making outside.

PS - It's good to 'see' you back!

It's a shame you and Bob had to do that on your own. I hope you can rest and ease your aches and pains.

What a powerful little saw!! I'm sore just reading about your soreness. YIKES
I guess the city has to have some type of equipment come around with jaws to pick up the stuff.
I recall when Fran came to Raleigh in 1996 our street was lined on both sides with 5' high piles debris for several weeks.

Wow, that's a heck of a lot of limbs and branches.
I know the feeling of that kind of hard work and the aching muscles.
No wonder you had a weekend time out!
Glad you are back and now its time for you and Bob to rest those weary bones.

I am so in awe of all you have done, and really hope the shoulder feels better soon!

Wow, someone should have offered to help, but I guess most have the same problem that you did. What really surprises me here is that there are fireplaces in Florida! WHY?

I worry that you said you still have a lot more to do. I hope you can take it easy and recover soon! ❤️

PS If people would like the logs it's too bad they couldn't haul them out of your backyard themselves.

So many logs! You might as well open a shop to sell the firewoods.

You two have done so much work. I could have never done that. I'm glad that's over with. Hope you are starting to feel better.

In your position I'd have no problem with someone taking the firewood if I had no use for it but I would wish they'd knocked at the door and offered to cut it up and drag it out before you had to. All those leaves and things - you couldn't just have pushed them under ther remaining shrubs and called it mulch/compost could you? We can't believe how much work you have got through. Mr B's Dad is Bob's age and there is no way we could imagine him doing that stuff. xxx Mr T and F

Hello Sandra :=) there is no doubt about it, you two are super humans to have done so much work. Sorry about your pain, hope you feel better soon.

Just stop by for my dose of MS and Beau.
No new post probably means soreness or maybe a break
