Thankful Thursday Pizza

I am thankful we live close to a dozen pizza places, that all deliver.
Recently I changed to a new one, Lil Caesars and when I ordered on line, no contact delivery, which means they sit it on the bench by the front door and leave.
I sent the order and an email appeared stating that
Doordash would be delivering our pizza and a link to
track the pizza.
You know I love new to me Techie Things.
First it showed.
Driver Waiting to pick up and deliver my 12 noon.
Soon it started to move and said ETA for pickup 11 minutes.
Flipped to a car photo at Lil Ceasars
Next it said Your Driver is Victoria H which meant she had the pizza in her van.
ETA 6 minutes
and there it was on my porch...
I LOVE OUR TECHIE WORLD and am thankful I had the $$$$ to buy the pizza.
Thankful for the fun of watching the tracker.
Do you order food and have it delivered?

All I can think of is...Doesn't pizza make you sick?? It does sound like a real fun experience though. I have never used this kind of delivery.

I have never ordered food for delivery. Nothing around here delivers and I'm too far away from places that do deliver.

Hello,

I wish we had pizza delivery here, we are too far away. I do love pizza, yum!
The techie stuff is cool, they make ordering food very easy. Take care, have a great day!

In our wee town of 5000 souls, we have six places that deliver meals; they do so via an app called Just Eat. That one doesn't have the map thing. Another outfit does, though. It is called Deliveroo. When I order my weekly groceries, the system my supermarket uses is Deliveroo and that one DOES have map progress - which is fun. It means I can always be at the window to wave to the driver and at the door to take in the bags without him having to bang on it! YAM xx

Mr B makes our pizzas (F taught him how to make the dough and he can have all the toppings he likes). He is quite pleased with himself over that achievement. My humans got my new food delivered yesterday, but apart from that they go out to fetch food. Mostly (apart from supermarket visits) they eat it at the place they are fetching it from. Doesn't pizza make you ill? Or can you get gluten free pizza as standard now? xxx Mr T

We never order food for delivery, so all of this is a bit alien to me. However, of late, for a quick pizza we used naan bread as a base instead of making the dough, and it works fine. Not as good as the dough, but when we have been out all day, it means that we can make a pizza in no time at all. We did exactly that last evening, and along with a glass of a fine Malbec to wash it down, it was quick and delicious!

Hi Sandra:=)
I live far away from town, and have never ordered pizza, and have stopped ordering anything else, as the delivery guys always get lost! I admit it isn't easy to find my house as the name of the road to the Quinta was changed some years ago and it doesn't appear on a GPS, and no matter how many helpful instructions I give them, they still can't find my house. Only once a delivery guy who was hot and bothered made it, and grumbled so much that he had been all around the roses to find us, as if it was our fault, so we gave up.

We have never ordered a food delivery in any of the places we have lived, Sandra, and also never ordered from anywhere other than Amazon. Unlike some of the previous comments, we now live within walking distance of downtown with a variety of places to eat. Glad your pizza arrived and that could track it as well. Isn’t technology great?

That's a FUN app! The closest I've seen is the last time Tom flew to Phoenix and I was able to track the plane as it made its way across the U.S. -- like a video game!

No, we've never ordered food delivered. Our friends, Frank and Cindy, pay $10/month to Publix to have their grocery list fulfilled and delivered to their door. She claims everything's been perfect, but I just enjoy being IN there and walking around,

Right now, we are still enjoying the novelty of getting to go out and eat. During the pandemic it was a different story, and we used to have food delivered or pick it up all the time!

We have had pizza and food delivered a few times but the cost for us has been really prohibitive. They tack on delivery charges and tip and often the food is cold or soggy by the time it arrives. It was a life saver from Domino's on occasion though.
The tracking is really great.

Kelly uses it all the time - I haven't yet.

Good for you! We haven't done that yet since I'm not crazy about a stranger driving around with my food and I don't know what they might have done to it. Yum!

We don't have that option here, but it would be fun to try. I, too, love techie things like that. 😊

I love this new technology right along with you. We don’t order food delivery too often, except when my son and daughter-in-law come over. They have a favorite restaurant and have a similar delivery system. I think it is wonderful!

Ahhh!! Another pizza addict! Hubby is savvy but our most recent attempt at having delivery has sent us back to ordering and picking it up. We had waited and waited then finally had to go to the pizza place. The upside was the young man at the pizza place told my husband that since
his pizza had not been delivered he would get a hot one . . .plus the one that had been overlooked and not delivered. We enjoyed both . . . but not for the same meal. Hooray for microwaves!

Pizza delivery around here is tough. There is a big shortage of drivers, and even of workers. Mom prefers to make her own and Dad likes it even better. She uses the Pillsbury pizza dough in a roll and adds her own toppings.

Yes we do but not like we did during the pandemic. Now we usually order something when we watch James for the evening. Adam's first job was working at a Little Caesars.
