Downtown Bradenton Library

Over the next few days, there will be photos, with very few words.

Shocking? Yes, it IS Me, the MadSnapper, I am NOT a robot.

top photo is the view from inside the ugly library.

As I renewed my library card, I counted 2 people on computers, 1 using a copier and 7 homeless people pretending to read but sleeping, smiled at the Police Officer, on duty in a LIBRARY.

The new Marriott is next door to the library

Mariana Boats are directly across the street from the library, it is several blocks long.

Sounds like the library is not very busy.

I hope the library is busy at other times. I am a retired librarian, one thing libraries do these days is offer all kinds of programs to draw people in. The harbor scenes are nice.

sadly libraries are no longer the magic place from our childhood... I loved the smell, it was unique... I csalled it the smell of wisdom... and todeay... the smell is different, from people who ... well ya know... sigh..

Thanks for the local area viewing... Dunoon library moved in 2019 from the edge of town into the centre and holds all sorts of book-related events to keep people interested. Seems to be working. YAM xx

I wonder why the police officer was on duty in the library.
That sure is a pretty area there. I can't remember the last time I was in a library.

It seems incredible to me that a police officer would be on duty in a library. If I haven’t mentioned it earlier, I have a friend from Australia visiting right now and we are heading off to Cuba so I will be away from blogging for best part of the next two weeks. Take good care.,

It is really great to see around where people live. There seems to be space around buildings. And as for marinas....well we are always attracted to wandering around those.

Hello,
I love seeing all the local scenes, I am thankful for my local library.
They must have had some kind of trouble for the policeman to be on watch.
Take care, have a great day!

I love libraries. That's always one of the first places I visit when I move or even visit an area. I feel so at home surrounded by books!

It’s so nice you visited the library. In childhood I cycled up to ours on my bike and filled my basket weekly. Your walk sounded lovely too. I would very much enjoy being close the the ocean and boats at a marina. Loved the photos.

From the time I could write my name, the Public Library was a favorite destination! Not sure why I don't visit ours more often; it doesn't boast a large selection, but it's cute and cozy.

The homeless you refer to makes me think of a Kindle novel I've got waiting to be read -- The Night of Many Endings. Not my usual fav genre, but it was probably a freebie.

Our local library is mostly computer driven and very few books so I don't go there often. It tends to be the voting place and various meetings are there too. Its lovely and modern but not inviting for me any longer. Sad...

Police in the library sounds fun. I do love the marina and I really like trawlers!

Thank you for sharing. It's sad about the homeless people. The Mariana looks nice.
