Happy Happy Happy! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜›πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

We interrupt the reporting of Hurricanes for PHUN stuff this week

As I read The Happy Whisk Post Thursday, I felt instantly HAPPY when the header above popped up, and I thought how much I love Ivy's posts. Her drawings inspire me, and when I grow up I want to draw like she does and happiness and joy jump right out of her post and I alway leave with a grin on my face. If you don't follow her, pop over and read a few of her post.
As I closed the post, I decided to make myself post a Happy Post on every day of the week that ends with a Y.    (Heh Heh Heh)
Now if this thought popped into anyone other than I, The MadSnapper this would be the end of it.
You know what this means MORE..

The days of the week were named by different civilizations based on celestial bodies and gods. Here are some explanations for the names of the days:

Babylonians: Named each day after a planetary body (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), as well as the Sun and the Moon1.

Romans: Named the days after the planets, which were in turn named after Roman gods23.

Emperor Constantine: Established the seven-day week we use today, based on the belief in seven key celestial bodies4.

The word Sunday doesn’t sound too complicated. There’s a sun, there’s a day, that’s a wrap. But the full story is more complex than a simple compound word. Sunday comes from the Latin dies Solis after the Roman sun god Sol. It became sunnandΓ¦g in Old English, sunnenday in Middle English, and eventually, Sunday. IF YOU CARE choose the link or simply

We learned all this in school - or at least at the school I went to. I have always loved the concept of naming things - which is why some of my posts contain some very peculiar words! Yay for happy posting! YAM xx

This is certainly cheerful and even made me decide to post about a 'whisk' 1 I'll bet you can't wait for that!πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

If I didn't have to head off to work soon I would be spending the morning looking through articles on how the days of the week were named.
I always like Ivy's posts too

It seems to me I learned some of this in my distant past - and promptly forgot it! So thanks for the reminder. My wife might tell you that my mind is already overflowing with trivia, but what’s a little more? Maybe I’ll go on Jeopardy one day and it will be the answer that wins the game!

Hello,
I like the whisk image, it is cute. It is a good idea to post a happy post, it's like me trying to stay positive avoiding anything negative.
Interesting info on naming the days of the week. Take care, enjoy your day!

I always enjoy visiting the "Happy Wisk".... I am glad to have this lovely lesson today...We sometimes go through life never really thinking about things like this, but yet in studying it, you learn so much and come away with interesting knowledge. Happy Sunday to you!!

Like Ginny, I didn't know any of this! (... at least if they taught it in school, my mind was elsewhere.)
This header image is soooo cute. I'm not familiar with the Happy Whisk, but that's about to change, starting this morning.
H.A.P.P.Y. Sunday!

I know Ivy and have been going to her blog for a while now. Always a fun and enjoyable read. You do find such interesting things to write about. I loved this! The town I grew up in was originally called Wodensborough named after the god of war. Then it was renamed Wednesbury (phonetically Wensbury). Here is a website with its history.

Thanks for another enjoyable read today. I hope all’s going well with the post hurricane cleanup.

Cute graphic. Your posts are one of my favorites that I always look forward to.
I remember learning about the naming of the days and more back when a Public School education was tantamount to a Classical education. (It's sad how uneducated many of the young are now concerning our culture.)
I missed Sunday School & Church today. I forgot and ate a few undercooked veg's at a restaurant and it gave me IBS. Now I have to sit around until it stops hurting. I know, I know ... TMI! lol
It's raining here again! Yay!
Hope your day is wonderful.
Love.

Okay, this was fun! I like the stick drawings at the top too. I never thought too much about the reason each day has a certain name. I guess we are never too old to learn something new. I'm sure I probably learned all this sometime, but I'll be darned if I can remember when or what. So thank you. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. No Sun here today...it's raining, but we need it, so I'm glad. So there!
