My Walk in Visit to Doctor during Time out

Monday Morning, the morn after Beau was sick all night, I woke up with my earlobe swollen twice its size, pierced earring hole (not used in 5 years) bleeding and red, and after I got through with the walk in visit to the vet for Beau I went to my Primary as a Walk in.

PA Jennifer, diagnosed infection, gave me choice of topical cream or antibiotics by mouth, or both. I chose the cream and said if it doesn't work I will call   you.

As she left she said, the nurse will be right in to break you out of here and left closing me in the windowless closet they call an exam room.

EIGHTEEN minutes into wait, I pulled open the door to the cell, and staring at 8 closed doors, waited with my arms crossed over my chest looking, well, angry.

Finally the Door opens across from me and a Doctor steps out, says, Can I help you Mam?  I replied, with my story and said I think nurse forgot me. He walked to 3rd door down where I could hear talking and laughter, and came back out trailed by Nurse who did, forget me.

this meant it was the PA who forgot to tell the nurse to order only cream, I am allergic to ointment, but this worked well, because when I picked up my RX they handed me Both Cream which turned out to be Ointment and BM antibiotics.

Yay! I forgot to tell her I thought I had a sinus infection, so the mistake gave me 7 days of pills. I used the ointment which made it itch but due to the mistakes I got the pills...

PLUS I found out while waiting in closet, that Amazon tracks me reading my books. when I found the screen shots you see at the top of post and the blue days mean the days I read..

You can see by all that blue that I rarely miss a day of reading. It's my escape from Henny Penny talking in my head. When I read or draw, Henny Penny is quiet.

Wonder WHY you got the earlobe infection? I have sat waiting in the exam room so many times! I will finally open the door and stand out in the hall.

Once they forgot about me and were about to leave for the day. Fortunately Andy was in the waiting room so they figured it out. 😊

the husband of a friend once had a problem at backside... they placed him on a table, cheeks airwards and said the doc is there in a minute... it was a long minute and because the door was open all people who passed by saw the poor guy... he laughed but that is something what has a deep impact on manly dignity....

Don't you find it creepy that big A (or anyone for that matter) is spying on you?

Crikey, my claustrophobia would've had that door open immediately! That readership thing only started this year I think. Definitely don't recall it being there before. YAM xx

That is strange about the sudden infection! That nurse was totally out of order!

Hello,
It is strange about your earlobe infection. I have not worn earrings in decades. There are times I feel like I am waiting an hour for someone to come back into the exam room. I have not noticed the Amazon reading tracker. Take care, have a great day!

I always wear my earrings all day but never sleep in them. Pierced ears since I was 15. Not one infection. I'd use alcohol on a cotton ball and soak the lobe thoroughly. Repeat 3 times a day.
Hope you and Beau feel better soon!!
hugs
Donna

How frustrating to be stuck in a little room and have them forget about you. Glad you opened the door and let them know you were still there.
That's kind of creepy that Amazon tracks how many days you read. I didn't know they did that.

I have sat waiting in the exam room many times too! I will finally open the door and stand out in the hall. It is so frustrating. I'm sorry. My son says never go to a doc in the box. But - it seemed you got everything taken care of - so that is a good thing.
Amazon = Big Brother.

Ditto to you and Jean being forgotten about in the little box! That happened to me one night at UAB, while waiting on Tom's docs to give me the low-down. All the reception folks had left for the night, and when I flagged down a medic he acted all annoyed.
I've not worn earrings since COVID began, either so my puncture holes have grown back together. Have you any idea what caused the infection? Scary stuff!

I wonder what caused that infection out of the blue.
I'm sorry you were forgotten. Glad you flagged someone down!

How strange for after 5 years, your ear lobe gets infected. Glad you went to the Dr. and thankful that they ended up sending the pills. I have been forgotten in a room before...kinda frustrating. I think FB, Amazon and everything else we engage in, tracks us. Scary!!

Oh do I hate it when they walk out and close the door. I guess it is a privacy thing but dang if I'm fully clothed please leave the door open. That happened to me in February at my eye exam. As they closed the door I said don't forget me. I heard my doc next door.

How very annoying, and a little scary. Both at the doctor's office and how Amazon tracks things....

I hate being forgotten. I'm glad you finally got attended to.

We are being tracked far more than we know. Scary indeed.

Have a fabulous day and week, Sandra. Scritches to handsome Beau. ♥

Big Brother is in every part of our lives. There is no escape from it in our "modern society". I will never forget the time I was talking to Dave and I had my cell phone in my hand. I was talking about having an upset tummy and doing many "runs to the bathroom". Almost immediately I got all sorts of ads on my phone for tummy meds and anti diarrhea meds...Scary but true.
Hope your infection heals quickly and there won't be a repeat of being forgotten at the dr. Terrible...

Well that was an interesting and kind of a weird visit. I hope your ear heals and that your sinus infections goes away. That room sounds really odd.

I know I've had to open the door and stand there a few times too, well more than a few. It seems like they get busy and just forget, so I usually do just open the door while I wait for them to come back. I hope the infection is all clear now and that it doesn't come back. Re:Amazon, our phones track us, our computers track us, everything we do is being watched. Big Brother is definitely here. I guess we should all boycott them and turn them totally off. I wonder what would happen? They'd probably blow up because they can't snoop! LOL.

Keep on reading and drawing and send Henny Penny off on her bike! I have been forgotten too. The clock ticks by slower for me at the doctor's office. It's eerie how much these companies know about us. I guess as soon as we got on the internet it started, and then when we got our smart phones. I hope your infections clear up quickly.
