Our Delightful Aggravating Archenemy # 1

This fell out of our tree yesterday!
And this fell out of our tree yesterday

And this fell out of our tree a few weeks ago. All the Avacados are Supposed to look like this one. Out of 30 plus, only five were entirely whole.
                                      Can you guess the culprit?

Meet the Culprit, the destroyer of all fruit large and small. The Dastardly Devil that sits on the fence and chatters at my husband in this photo.
Same squirrel, Same Fence, Same Husband TALKING to him/her. Same wife saying don't talk to him, maybe he/she will go away! HA not in this life.
The only thing they do beside EAT everything in sight and torment the dogs by chattering at them is MULTIPLY.

Whisky, frisky,
Hippity hop;
Up he goes
To the tree top!

Whirly, twirly,
Round and round,
Down he scampers
To the ground.

Furly, curly
What a tail!
Tall as a feather
Broad as a sail!
Anonymous

OH NO! he has NO tail.
I did not do it, I swear. He is hiding his food for later, a nut, not an avacado.

Aggravating Archenemy? Yes!
Nibbles holes in the avacado? Yes!
Eat holes in our Ruby Red Grapefruit? Yes!
Do we wish they would go away? Yes!
Will we ever harm them? NEVER!
Will I continue to take pictures of them? Yes!
Do we think their antics are adorable and delightful? Yes!

"if you can't beat them join them"  Such is life!

Your pictures are really wonderful. What a little devil! As annoying as they are, you can't help but laugh at their antics.

They could eat all the avocados as far as I'm concerned, but they need to leave my mangoes alone. Great pictures.

Oh My Goodness... Wonder how many squirrels there are in this country of ours---or maybe even the world.???? We've got them too--and they eat anything and everything. Can't stand the pesks--even if they are cute.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wonderful post!! Your last comment is hilarious, about Mr. No-Tail!!!! What a funny picture, I can't imagine how you could have caught that snap. Notice that my husband has signed on as a follower. He is enjoying your blog just as much as I am. After trying all evening, he was unable to leave a comment!!! We don't know what's going on,and he was very perturbed. Perhaps I'll ask Bev. She has taught me quite a bit about blogging.

Love the squirrels! They do a lot of distruction but they are so cute! If I ever try to plant something out back, they turn it up and eat the roots. Of course they love all of our big oak trees and dine on the acorns. When we put out birdseed, they eat that too. I don't think there is much they won't eat. We would never hurt them either. Another one of God's beautiful creations! Brian and Daria have a dog that chases and catches them in their back yard. They try to stop him but he is too fast. Nature at work.....

Hi Sandra, I first want to thank you for recommended my blog to Betsy to see my blog. I am pleasantly surprised and touched with that friendly gesture of yours.
I now want to thank you for this wonderful post again. I am now convinced how big culprit that little squirrel is, but she is adorable at the same time. Your humor and that cute culprit really make me smile. :-)) These are wonderful photos that you have taken. Thanks for sharing!

Sandra, you of course know that I love this post. Your photos of are great, you captured his squirrelness so well, they can be little pest and also little clowns.

Sorry about the avacados but a squirrel doesn't live by nuts alone! I planted a couple of sunflowers this year and checked them each day and kept wondering why there were blooms missing. Then one day I watched as one of the squirrel carefully plucked a bloom and carried it away. Will I plant more sunflowers next year? You bet I will, my little buddies love 'em.

Have a great weekend,
Judy
