God's Garbage Glitters

Same ditch as the one in yesterday's post. Moved a few feet to my right. If you enlarge the photo, you can see the garland of bright lights that would be perfect on a Christmas Tree. The Garland is a simple piece of God's Garbage, a piece of green slimy plant thingy floating in the current next to a husk that fell off the tree.

I am showing 3 views, each one the glare on the water that appears to be gray, is the sun hitting it. By moving slightly I could change the glare, but never did get one that had no glare in some part of the photo.

Anyone have advice for me for next time? How do I get away from that gray glare in these photos?

LOVE IT! I especially like the "garland with lights".
If we only stop and look with "different eyes" what beauty can be found!

Fun to find interesting subjects to click, huh? My only thought would be - could you move to shoot from a different angle to avoid the glare??

It takes a good eye to catch beauty in things like that. Good job. Have you tried a circular polarizing filter? To see the difference it makes on water just click here. The majority of my scenic shots are taken with the polarizer on, so it is a good investment.

I also have a circular polarizing filter that I use quite a bit. It doesn't solve every problem, but it sure helps on most of them.
I like your garland.

Great pictures.... As George said, to get rid of glare, try one of those polarizing filters. They really do seem to help... Photographying from a different angle might help also.

Good Luck!!!!

Hope that storm stays AWAY from you...

Betsy

Amazing! It almost looks like a necklace and a hat on top! All I can say about the glare is to get someone to stand and block it, That's what I do with unwanted reflections. This is too cool! Talk about garbage art and something from nothing!!

Hi there Sandra. My advice is poor..I'm very determined though, often I run back outside for better lighting..have been known to (if possible) drag my subjects inside and photograph them there!! An umbrella may help?

It is true that all the glitters isn't gold but there is beauty everywhere around us only if we look carefully. You proved that with these fantastic photos that you took. You really have a good eye to catch interesting subjects.

The garland of lights makes for a great photo but it doesn't really qualify as garbage. There is a lot of life on that strand that will become food for other life. That will feed something else, the circle never ends.

Trying different types of filters would be my suggestion also.
