If you had been in the park with Judy and I, you would have heard squeals of joy when we found this small flower blooming in the knot hole on the tree. So Pretty!
“Life can either be accepted or changed. If it is not accepted, it must be changed. If it cannot be changed, then it must be accepted.”

This knot was once a lovely limb, now a handsome knot. the flower came from the ground, placed there by wind or fowl. Neither had any say in the change in its life, a limb lost, no grass to grow in, they both used what they were and where they were to make a thing of beauty.

Nice post Sandra interesting thoughts. Your words have struck a note with me, my life is in a changing period unable to do what I have done all my life I now need to change and do something else.
As for telephoto lens the sigma has macro 1;1 which allows you to get closer to your subject visually but from a distance of around 3-4 feet that means you do not disturb the subject.
However since you already have a 300mm telephoto you could use a 1.4 or 2.0 teleconverter or a set of extension tubes to get a larger image. Teleconverters do cause some degradation to image quality and you really need a fast lens (f2.8) ideally for them to work without blurring. Extension tubes give better quality images but not the same magnification. I use extension tubes with my 300mm sigma switched to macro, The images in my post are taken with this set up. You can get reversing rings too but I have never used them so don't feel qualified to comment on them. Ask a local camera dealer they will give you the best advice.
Sandra the flower is a great find,
great post.
I read the comment Picturit made about extension tubes for the lens
I've been looking at them from time to time, I am verry interested
let me know what you think.
Wow! This tree kind of took lemons and made lemonade, it's a living vase! Just a great find! And really great quotes! This tree series is so good. No one else I know could get so many great and different posts from trees! And not the usual kind of tree stuff, either, but unusual and whimsical. When we moved into this house almost 30 years ago, I loved the huge old maple in the front yard before I ever loved the house. When we pulled up into the driveway to go in the house for the first time and look at it, I wanted the tree. Sadly, we had to have it cut down a few years ago. There went our shade, my beautiful tree, the birds, the changing leaves, a whole eco system.
What a treasure to happen upon ...
We see with "different eyes" when we look upon this treasure. It reaches into our souls and inspires us.
Great post!
Outstanding! Gerry
Isn't it amazin' how God can take nothing and plant treasures there. He does the same thing in our lives. Ya'll, don't we serve and awesome God?
God bless and ya'll have a fantastic summer day!!! :o)
This is a wonderful find in the knot of the tree. You captured it beautifully.
How neat to see a little flower growing out of that knot in the tree... Isn't that just incredible????? Love all of your words today--especially the last two comments...
We can start today and make a new ending... So many people live in the past --and that's just not good!!!!!
AND---staying the same does provide pain... We all need to change (as much as we don't want to at times)... ha
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
I thought I heard some strange squealy sounds coming from the east the other day. I thought it was somebody's fan belt slipping, but now I know it was you and Judy finding this little flower. It is indeed a find. I think I squealed just a little when I saw your photo of it today. Nice work.
I love the knot hole-and I love the quotes too!
Sandra..these were the quotes I was referring to..but of course love the lyrics to your post below! I came in awhile ago, but had to delete my browsing history and reload your page again. I saw this first! I love this capture! Nice find here-
What a fun find - and I LOVE those quotes!
Again some Art Work by nature - and by Sandra :) Great find!
A little seed went looking for a home and the tree provided. That is a wonderful find, I would have squealed too.
