Sweet Little Filly!

In 2007 I drove out East to take photos of Robert and Kathy's horses, CLICK HERE for that story and to see their horses at that time.
I have wonderful news for all of you that live locally! These horses are ready to RIDE and you can be the rider (not cookie please). if you need info look on my side bar and click on the picture of Cowboy, who will be riding with you. If you are to tired after all this reading to go way over to the side bar, here is the link to
 Born To Ride website....

Enlarge photos by clicking on them, and click back to see the next one.
Meet Val (in my other post she is the unicorn on the steps) and her baby, Cookie. this sweet little Filly was born 2 hours after midnight on July 5th (amost born on the 4th of July)

In these photos taken yesterday she is only 2 days old

Cookie was not very interested in the clicking camera, only one thing on her mind. Milk Please! I am just a newborn.

(mask on faces) Robert explained to me the netting on Val's face is to protect her eyes from flies. All of the horses had them on for protection. It is a type of netting that they can see through and is for their comfort.

Yesterday, I drove even further east to their new Old home ( you all know I love old houses), plus 12 acres for the two of them, their 6 horses and 2 dogs, and the new baby Plus coming soon a new resident Skeeter the baby donkey(too young to leave its mother). Yes, I WILL be getting his photo too

You can all sing along with me now
"Happy Tails To You"

At last she is done with our photo shoot and we can head back to the shade and enjoy life in our very own
"Shangri La" (heaven on earth)

Your pictures are wonderful, I can't stop smiling.
I see a lot of horses around here with masks, the flies are awful!

I loved all the pictures of the horses, the old and the new. The unicorn picture is amazing. As I read the story about you standing with the man with the whip and the horses were bearing down on you, I thought, wonder what happened to her "what iffer???" As always, a great blog!

I know very little about horses (or ay animal really), but I have really enjoyed looking at these two. Thanks, also, for enlightening us about the masks.

Little Cookie is an adorable foal... Misha (my blog friend who raises horses) reminded us that all baby horses are foals.... A female can be called a filly and a male can be called a colt... But--they are all foals. Cookie won't become a mare until she is about 4 yrs. old. See how much I am learning also about horses!!!! ha ha (Misha has a little filly named Annie. She's an Arabian horse.)

Great pictures of little Cookie...
Hugs,
Betsy

Gosh, I do not remember your old post, even though I knew you at that time! Wait, no we hadn't met yet. Whew! Your unicorn creation is amazing, and shows how very creative you are, and talented! If you count the fifth from the bottom, that's my favorite one on today's post. Mama and baby are just standing side by side. The baby looks like she was expertly painted. She is so pretty and God painted her. What a grand adventure!! And such professional pictures that you took!! I can't wait to see the new baby, but I'm betting it won't be as good as this.

Sandra..these are beautiful! I love how the trees form a shady arch with them together in the tall grass! Wow, how precious. The netting of course makes perfect sense (I hate fly's). Terrific post!

Hello, the filly is sweet. What a beautiful horse, they both are.

I have seen horses wearing the mask for protecting their eyes, I am sure it helps. These are beautiful photos of the horses.

She is just a tiny thing here! I saw the eye coverings for the first time last year, (I'm not around horses much) glad someone came up with something to help.
