Last day of the Snailathon
NO MORE SNAILS, I promise!

As I tossed the tennis ball to Jake on day Three of Snail Trails, I noticed this little guy on the pool steps rail.
For all the non-snail folks out there, I found this info on
Do snails do anything beneficial in a garden? Besides triggering thoughts of Browning? They date almost to the beginning of time. They control algae in ponds. Like earthworms, they recycle organic matter. Birds eat them. And they delight kids.
He was so cute (because he is itty bitty could sit on a dime.
He/she was headed for a dive into the pool, so I picked him up and deposited him on a leaf and left him there.

Yes! A fitting way to end this series, finally some real good close ups, so he can take his bow, if he COULD bow! Do these leave a silver trail? What do Jake and Baby think of them? I know they put tiny snails in fish aquariums to keep them clean, but that must be a different kind of snail. I'm glad you saved him from a watery disaster. I loved this series!! That's because I am like the snails now, cannot move fast paced or even regular paced.
Here I mostly find slugs; slimy slinky creatures without cute shells. They eat the columbine leaves and leave nasty silver trails across the hot tub lid and plant leaves. I would rather have the snails. I do think that the bug population has been bountiful this summer. I do not seem to have the large number of birds at the feeders as usual. Perhaps they are filling up on insects instead of seeds.

I am sorry to see this series come to an end, I have really enjoyed your snail tales! I really like the second shot, it is a beautiful macro of the little fellow on the silver.
