Popping Pills POP....or NOT

Did you Know if you accidentally publish your post and want to bring it back, just open the post in edit and click on save now and it will put it back in draft and Voila, its removed from your blog
. Don't even ask why I am telling you this.
As we age our fingers start to lose their dexterity.

I staggered to the kitchen at 4 AM for the first cup of java, low light situation, remove the lid, turn it to the side to roll one tablet into my hand and DROP THE BOTTLE, it hits on its edge, and sprays what seems to be 4000 (I know it's only 500 because it is still half full) tiny tablets all over the kitchen, it looks like a saccharin  AK47 has sprayed them. I sweep, gather, hand vac and still find them for days after.

Two days later: I count out the 3 prescription and half dozen supplements I take each morning, and as I place the last one in this blue cap (remember I recycle and this is a small jar cap) my finger nail catches on the edge of the cap as I place the last pill and guess what?
it tips over they roll all over the kitchen joining what is left of the saccarhine tablets.

The saga continues. Hubby takes 1 baby aspirin per day (yes, I know you know he is not a baby and it is for his heart).

I buy three bottles in a stack pack because they are cheap and so am I. Cheap I mean. It's cheaper that way. Because of the afore mentioned dexterity with fingers of age, I place them in a bottle with a screw cap because I have no children in the house to open the child proof bottle for me.

the point of all this is, see all the lids in the photo above? 3 are snap on that only a child can open and one is screw type. I spent 5 minutes trying to screw the snap on onto the screw type bottle before I realized what i was doing. Muttering and mumbling about the caps when all the time it was
A SENIOR MOMENT (did I mention eyes start to fade along with the dropping things?)

Some things I just try to believe do not exist and go about my way being surprised later. :)

4 a.m. coffee-check! Scattered pills? No! Why? Because I have a pharmacist in the house and he knows how to de-childproof those bottles. He's handy that way.

I am picturing you vacuuming at 4 a.m.!

Best,
Bonnie

Well I see you are having problems with your meds but not with your textures on the photos. Nice job.

I can definitely identify with this! We're still young, but our bodies don't know it!

I do most of my pill-sorting only once a week, into a box divided for the purpose into morning-noon-evening compartments for each day of the week. (Box bought at the pharmacy.) I try to do the sorting while I'm awake ;) Having them all sorted for the whole week helps me not to forget to take them - or forget if I have already taken them...

That is really funny about the cap mix up, it's my favorite part! Any senior worth his salt has plenty of harrowing pill stories to spill to others. Yours are so real, I can feel the frustration. I have to take over 12 kinds of drugs a day, most prescription. So I put out the day's pills the night before. I'm always dropping at least one, but we can't just hope we found them all, because we have two little girls crawling around (yes, they'll still crawl at 4 if they take a notion) then I have to call Phil to come in the kitchen, get down on the floor with flashlight and anything else he can think of. Your mom's picture on the sidebar is beautiful, is her birthday coming up?

We've all had days like that. I never have understood the concept of 'child-proof' caps -- both of my children could open them with ease when they were young!
And don't get me started on eye sight!

Saccharin dances around

She tries sweeping
Um in
Nice little rows..
I cooked up some fish scraps I give my cats (so it wouldn't go to waste)..then dropped it
- scattering stinky pieces all over and under the fridge. Hubby came over to assist- thoroughly wiping with a bleach solution. Hubby then jumps in the shower and I knocked it over once more!! Not quite as bad as the first:)))

I believe things like that happen to people of all ages. Sometimes you just want to crawl back into bed and start over....

How sweet. We do use a lot of pills as we age and that leads to interesting moments. I enjoyed the post about your mom.

I enjoyed the pill blog! I can just see you going through all of that. Did you say any "Sunday School words?" I went back and looked at your Mother's blog again. She was a beautiful lady, and a sweet lady. When I looked at her mother's picture, I was thinking it was her until I read it. She looks just like her mother!
You will probably be finding those little tablets for weeks!

You are knowledgeable with blogging.

How do you post a draft after you have posted a few posts without having to delete it and report?

I don't take any prescription meds but I feel the same way about the evil child proof bottles. Like you I recycle and reuse screw top bottles for things like aspirin and such.

You can recall a post but it stays on dashboards forever, I want to know more about the makeshift tripod.

Looks like Ann needs to know how to change the date and time on posts.
