Loving Hands For Skeeter

Hi, my name is Skeeter, I am a minature donkey.  I am "in training" to become a therapy donkey when I grow up. the thing is, I will not ever Grow Up! this is my size. I am six months old so I will get older, just not bigger.

last week I saw my first person in a chair that had wheels, I was just a tad timid at first, but as soon as those loving hands started petting me, I LOVED it.
One nice lady squeezed my nose, it felt good.

No, this is not a headless lady and my PR/agent/photographer Did know she cut it off. see it was on purpose This Time. She told me she could not show all those smiling faces because of Privacy Laws.

Donkeys only have 3 laws. Eat all you can when you can, Grass is greener on the other side of whatever, Get as many pets a day as possible.

OOOOOhhhhh that feels so good! I could stand here all day

On lady went back inside to get her camera. I think she wanted to remember me, don't you?

What a cutie!! He reminds me of the horses of Skiros (an island in the Aegean Sea). They only get about this size too. What a lovely special life Skeeter has before him! How many people are going to be so touched by his loving glance and giving soul...
Thanks for sharing!

When you mentioned on my blog that you would be posting hands, too, I had no idea I would be fighting the tears. Maybe it is because of my mother's age and challenges, but this post really is doing a number on me. And having Skeeter tell his story. . . just perfect! The closeup photos of hand and part of Skeeter's endearing little face were especially moving. Great work PR/agent/photographer lady!

God used a donkey to warn Balaam (Numbers 22:1-35) and he still uses His animals to help others. God bless Seeker the donkey! :-)

Well Skeeter it's nice to meet you, even though I've seen your photo many times before. You seem pretty smart for only 6 months old. I couldn't type on a computer or even a typewriter when I was six months old and I had fingers not hoofs. Hope to hear about your adventures from you again soon.

Hi Sandra, I have read so much info all through the years about how much elderly people LOVE animals --of all kinds... Skeeter is a 'gift of love' for that group... How special is that....
Hugs,
Betsy

These pictures are my favorites yet of all your Skeeter posts! The one with the very old lady's hand on him says it ALL! For some reason, no faces kind of accentuates the wheelchairs, hands and petting. It makes it more poignant. And these pictures for some reason make me notice his amazing eye makeup even more.

It looks as if Skeeter is coming right along with his training! He is going to be quite the draw, everywhere he goes.

Skeeter is doing quite well in his training and even seems to be enjoying it.

I loved this post Sandra; as usual skeeter is adorable! Those beautiful older hands say more than you can imagine. Those hands have comforted, soothed, prepared the family meal, washed the laundry and many mundane tasks. But above all they show a lifetime of love!

You are kind of doing what I was talking about on my blog - the ripple effect - you taking skeeter to the rehab unit - you don't know all the good you are doing with it.

Those eyes, I love those eyes. Maybe a close up of Skeeter's gorgeous eyes sometime.

Skeeter you are the cutest donkey I have ever met. You need to tell Kathy and Sandra that you want your own blog!
