Flowers and the color RED

I am sharing a few Heart Idioms today

To have a "heart of gold" (care about other people)

To have a "big heart" (to be giving and caring)

To "wear your heart on your sleeve"  (let everyone know how you feel)

To "cross your heart and hope to die"  (promise)

To "have a change of heart" (change your mind)

I am loving all of your red flowers, perfect for this month. Great idoms, it makes me wonder how some of these came into usage.

It's fun to go on the web and find out the history of all these sayings. Was it you who put the reason we say 'hold your horses' on? And why do they just keep going on and on.

Brrrr...cold again here this morning. My hands can hardly type.

I love your beautiful red flowers. I also like your explanations of the 'heart' sayings.

Love the heart idioms. Let's have a "heart to heart".... Is your heart in it?... If you memorize something, you may learn it 'by heart'.... ha ha

Great flowers also.
Hugs,
Betsy

Catching up: Your candy corn flower was magnificent. The one today is a beautiful red. . . but it is sort of weird looking, like it has on some futuristic space type material. Thank you - and Betsy - for the heart sayings. Loved them. And thanks for the crash alert. I have got to do something about my photos. EEK!
