Stomp!

I found the above package attached to the spray cleaner we use for... ummmm dog what iffers on the carpet. Everything comes in a spray bottle and when empty we toss it. I have been known to rant about throwaway plastic bottles until Bob starts to whine.

NOW, "THEY" have invented a wet pad, you open the package, lay the pad on the floor and stomp it and leave it for 30 minutes, then pick it up and the stain is gone and you throw the pad in the garbage.

NOTE: it says it might require 24  hours to lay there if it is a hard stain to remove. THEN it says Dangerous to pets and children, so my question is???? how do i keep the dogs from eating it while it lays there for 24 hours, or for that matter 30 minutes.

I am trying hard not to climb  up on my Soap Box and deliver my Sermon On Waste Not Want Not Re-Cycle Re-Cycle Re-Cycle (oops I almost started the sermon)

One of my pet peeves is the waste here in America using "throwaway" everything and anything. Disposable this and that, filling our land fills with trash. I am an avid Re-Cycle everything we use, so I ripped this off and did my little rant and rave about what kind of trash they will give us to throwaway next.

I have included this sign that sits behind the cash register at our favorite buffet... JUST IN CASE any of you start to Whine about my sermon.  IF YOU want to read about my PEEVE Click HERE for a past post

I typed the word Stomp in google and this is what i found. a Group called Stomp and all their music is done with recycled instrumetns or their  hands and feet and chairs and all kinds of things. I LOVE THEM.

Who knew???

If you love the sound of drums like i do.... click on STOMP and pick your re-cycle drum material. I spent half and hour stomping and one of them has  been viewed over 4 million times. Get Stomping and NO Whining please I posted a 44 second hands and feet. but to see the Real Thing you know what to do  STOMP uses basketballs, trash cans, newspapers for instruments.

What will they think of next? I guess you could throw a towel over it or put a cast iron pan over the pad. This way the dogs can move the heavy pan.
Yep, I recycle. I have some glass bottles to take and I am a cardboard box horder, I hate to throw a tree away. I have to cut them up and take them to the center when I take the bottles.

That pad is a little better than a plastic bottle. But having to keep it away from the dogs would be a problem. I too jump on the soap box when it comes to recycling. Fortunately our city provides large bins for recyclables and yard debris. We don't use a lot of plastic but most of it will get recycled (I always look at the container to see if it the type of plastic our city will take). I have seen some of the Stomp videos before and I love them. They make great music.

STOMP!!!! Now there is an eye-catching Subject Line!!! ,-)

Oh yes, I get tired of our use-it-and-throw-it-away World. I say World, because this view seems to have seeped into everything. Just about.

This, and the do-everything-yesterday mind set. Rush-rush-rush-rush-rust-

Both these things are gonna' do-us-in. -sigh- If we don't fight them, tooth-and-nail.

And it's perfectly OK to rant!!! What's a blog for, if we can't rant some, on our own?

And in this case, in comments in other's blogs. -grin-

“I live in two worlds. One is a world of books...........It’s a rewarding world, but my second one is by far superior. My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything.”

Sorry you are having troubles seeing my blog updates, in your Google Reader.

As I've probably said 300 times -grin- I used Google Reader for a long time and loved it. Then they changed stuff, and it became useless to me. (I'm not techy and not good at adapting to change)

But good for those who can still use it.

When I lived in Maryland the apartment complex we lived in had a recycling program that I did participate in. Then we moved back to West Virginia and they don't have one here like that so I don't recycle anymore. I think there might be a place to do it but it would be a good hour away from here. I try to reuse what I can though when I can.

Those pads sound strange to me. You gotta love how they didn't think about your pets and kids when they made them but tell you to keep them away!

The first thing I thought when I read the description was about the waste. We spray and use old rags that we pick up, wash and reuse. Much better. . . and cheaper. I've seen a little of STOMP on TV before and enjoyed them a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Just stopped by to say hello. My favorite thing of late....is to fill a spray bottle with part water and part Pine Sol and use it on the tub & toilet. I like the pine scent and oh is it handy. Cleans great! and....I picked up this from my son in law. He used this in their home. Thanks son-in-law....=)

I have seen Stomp on T.V. and really like them!!! My faves here are the plungers and the brooms. The brooms remind me of the Chimney Sweep scene in Mary Poppins. Thanks for the videos, because I did not know all the variety they have, I've only seen them once or twice. The buffet whining sign, it makes me wonder why they would post it in a buffet!! Customers would see it and wonder if the food is good. I know the food there IS good, but the sign might throw off business. We don't do recycle at the houses, we have to save up stuff and drive, but not too far away. Do you have the recycle cans at your house that you can just put out front like the trash? That would be nice, it is a mess loading the car all up and hauling stuff out. Could you shut the dogs out of the room for a day? Probably not if it's in the living room. And then there's always the fumes later on, it could last awhile. Remember John Travolta's baby boy and other babies get Kawasaki's Disease from crawling on rugs that have had certain chemicals on them. You should give that pad to someone who doesn't have any pets or kids.

I liked the "stomp" movie - I like everything that has a rythm...this was kind of a simplified version of Riverdance ^_^
STOMP - these wet pads looks interesting. But agree it can be tricky with the dogs around. I like that sign.
Hope you're having a good day!

Those pads sound interesting. Our daughter & SIL live with us and almost everyday I have to say "that can be recycled!" They are getting better at it.

Love your new header...
I think you've given me an idea for a post. Hate all the waste that we create in the name of convenience. Stay tuned!! Have a great weekend Sandra. :)

We are both big on recycling as much as we can.
Have a wonderful weekend, Sandra.

I visited your other post about recycling and commented there as well. :) I would sit something heavy on top of the pad and leave it.
We have the large recycling bins to put out weekly that the city provides. I keep a lot of plastic bottles, containers and use them around the house or to help organize stuff in the garage. Cardboard boxes and packaging materials I keep and use for ebay items that I'm selling and have to ship.
That whining sign is too funny!
I've seen stomp before, very talented!

I have heard Stomp before, and I think they are really good. We also try to recycle, but sometimes it seems as if manufacturers try to make that as difficult as possible to do. I like the sign you pictured.

Yes, I'm on that soap box too. We are such a wasteful society and want instant everything.
the stomp pad sounded like a good idea at first but you pointed out some real heavy duty problems with it.
I adore STOMP. I have watched their performances on PBS and would love to see them in person.
Its amazing what we can do with just our hands and feet too.

seems pretty stupid to make a product for pet stains that may be harmful to pets.
There is an awful lot of waste in the world. What ever happened to things like pop bottles that you had to return for a deposit?

I love stomp...I enjoy soap boxes..sometimes you just have to get up on it...

I agree with you - waste not want not. If you have to leave them on the floor and the dogs will eat them - incredulous.

And I have seen Stomp before - that are way cool. sandie

I saw STOMP in person cause my hubby and daughter wanted to go see them. Ugh! So not my type of entertainment!

Throw away is one of my pet peeves too, Sandra. And I am constantly trying to throw out less and less. And I definitely believe in getting by with less too.

I never heard of Stomp 'N' Go. I am the guilty one when when it comes to throwing things out. Love your Header Sandra.
