The birth of From The Chair!

Remember the chair in The Birth of a new MadSnapper
that the Better Shot Shooting MadSnapper dragged behind the bushes??? Behold! The  Birth of  "From the Chair"  a new meme for me.
The plan is to drag a chair any where and sit down with my long lens on my camera and Snap! but NOT Madly More, but Madly Better from FIDDLING with
The Dreaded Dial (the part that says TV, AV, M (shuddering just typing the letters) seems if a person conquers The Dreaded Dial the photos look a lot better.
See the tiny little 4 inch high WEED above? if you sit in a chair and prop the camera on your knees or arms to chair, and fiddle with the DD and ZOOM in and out.... below is what you get.
NOTE... if you decide to join me in From The Chair, make sure you don't lean on the arms if you use an armless chair
also if you decide to try this, the chair can be any where at all, yard, beach, middle of the street (just kidding) OR you can sit on a stump or anything at all. the thing is to SIT and STARE and SNAP!

all weeds shot from 20 feet away.... if you don't have a zoom then shoot close to your chair.. you have toes don't you?
OK, so I did take MORE! but you KNEW I would!   Join me in the meme for me if you want, there is no link, no special day, no rules at all. just sit and shoot and post

WOW!!!

And you even get the great *Bouhak* effect, or whatever the name is. Clear up close but soft in back. And visa-versa.

I love that effect.

When it gets warmer, I'll have to try. But! My camera does not have those fancy dials. (The scary ones) Just some settings.

But, naturally, I've had it for years and never mastered them. -moan- I am such a wusssssss. LOL.

What an intricate little weed! It is amazing the work that God puts into the smallest little plant. He does that for us too... :-)
Love ya, Madeline

Wow! Those are so clear! I'll have to give it a try to see if my camera will do that. I honestly haven't taken the time to learn my camera and the instruction book isn't that helpful or at least I don't think it was! lol

When they say between the hours of 8 and 10, I think they mean 8A.M. and 10 P.M.!!!!! I hope he came and that it was NOT working!!! WHAT??? Firefox not compatible anymore?? When did you notice this? Because I was able to post around midnight last night. Remember when I couldn't post and YOU fund out that it was the I.E., so I got Firefrox and it was all fixed...so how ironic this is. Google Chrome came on my new Toshiba, as well as I.E. It is on the bottom bar. My computer guy told me that it is good...just works a bit different and of course takes some learning. I need to fool with it when I have time, since Blogger is a Google product, they should always be compatible! Your little weed, I think now we ALL want to know it's fate and see what it becomes, looks like it will bloom. Now you have to let us follow it this spring and do not pull it up!!! Put police crime tape around it so the dogs and Bob don't bother it. Now this is my kind of meme, just sit in a comfy chair, SOOOO funny about the armrests!!!

You know you're doing something right when you can make a weed look this good. :) Love what you've come up with Sandra! Great pics!

Great shots :) this is what I love doing, to take some real close ups. Great job to close in on these weeds and getting the background blurry. That's the trick really ^_^ and a good way getting to know the features of the camera [hehe]

Photography is so much fun isn't it?!

Good idea. Sometimes it stimulates the creativity to limit the area you shoot in. I like that little weed.

I am not sure I understand this. But I can tell you this - I don't want to see weeds in my yard - I'd like to pretend they don't exist. sandie

well now isn't that a fun meme. I'm sure that I may join you on it one of these days. Nice shot of the weed. Did you pull it when you were done or did you let it live to tell about the session? :)

Sandra...exactly what KIND of WEED is this??? I wish I had the time to just sit and snap! It seems that I'm always moving...:)JP

I think you've got a good idea there, Sandra! Gives us an excuse to just sit and shoot. I always seem to be in a hurry when I've got my camera and on the road most times.

Have a nice Friday and weekend!

I need to do more of sitting and shooting....specially since I am not doing much driving and shooting.

LOL ... love it! I think I'm ahead on this meme! Do shots from my office chair count?

I used to teach my dive students to make a grid and take it down with them. Then pick a spot and hover. Any spot, didn't matter where. Then place the grid (6x6) and find at least one thing in each square that they didn't know was there before. It is amazing what you see when you stop long enough to let it show itself.

Amazing detail in that weed. I love looking at the world through your lens. Thank you!

Fun idea. Only problem any lawn chair on our patio usually has at least one cat in it. So I take cat photos. THH!
Your camera and mine have different settings, I'm trying to figure out what TV and AV stands for.

What Karen Sees said...

We photographers seem to notice small details and pretty compositions that others would never see. Add a zoom lens, and we see a whole new world! Then add what you see, along with your humor, and we have a fun, interesting and great blog post!! (P.S. I've been catching up with you today, wish I could do this more often as I love your blog. Thanks for keeping track of me while I'm in NZ.)
