What the heck is THAT?

Cup above taken from internet, Microsoft Free photos. My friend Ann, SnapEditScrap takes some really cool white box shots. She sent me an email showing me her homemade white box. If you don't know what a white box is, CLICK HERE   someone used a white box to get the above cup shot. I WANT one but do not want to pay for it.

Hubby came home and as the door slammed I heard him say "What the heck is that?"
Above is what he saw. Voila! MadSnapper's White Box.

I cleaned 3 closets and 7 drawers making four piles, Trash, Goodwill, Homeless Shelter and Abused women's shelter for donation.( another story)
and found this poster board from the past (yet another story)
I placed it and  2 desk lamps, my large print Bible for a tri-pod and grabbed the camera. YIKES! see below

The kitchen was to dark, it was 7:30 AM (part of my excuse), the lamps not the right color light, the cup did NOT come out like I wanted it. SOOOO

I sat the board in front of the window and waited for the sun to come in the window.

Yes! you can say it here. SHE always does OVERKILL and it is true.

I waited until bright sun was out, turned the make believe white box towards the door and got the below shot. could not get the shadow off so I gave up. YOU DO NOT want to SEE how many pics I took of this can.

I really like the way your shot of the oil lamp turned out. I don't have a box now but I once took an old cardboard box and spray painted the inside white. I have also used poster board in white and black for backgrounds.

Not as easy as one might think, to take a photo of a simple object. I like your play with light and shadows but you're right, I probably did not need to see more than one cappuchino can. ;)

I have thought of white boxes too. THOUGHT of.

You did amazing things, with the use of the white box you rigged up!

Mmmmm, wondering if I will ask husband to make one for me? I know he would. He'd love to do so. Hmmm, will I? Or won't I?

If I do, will I feel *obligated* to take zillions of pics, with it? Will I thus, wear out its welcome?

Oh good grief!!!!!! You may take a lot of pics. But I do toooooooo much musing!!!! -grin-

Peter: You're a good guy.
Lincoln: Yeah. I'm a good guy.

WHEEEEEE!!!! He already has plans for one!

Using foam board! White. Lighter weight than wood. Cut-able with a knife.

WHEEEEEE!!!! Thank you for the idea! :-)

Peter: You're a good guy.
Lincoln: Yeah. I'm a good guy.

Very fun Sandra! I read somewhere that if you use a 'daylight bulb' in your lamp that it helps as well.
Wishing you a happy Sunday!

WOW, this is awesome!!! I was going to tell you to buy some poster board before I scrolled to see you already made the box, so cool! My very favorite is the hurricane lamp, it is wonderful, the reflection looks like there is water in it.

I just read not too long about that coffee cup with the spoon in my entrepreneur magazine.
Usually for ebay I would use a white sheet or black sheet for my background. You have awesome determination Sandra! Fabulous photos! I may have to make a white box. Just love the oil lamp! Do you think Baby or Jake will get in the box?? ha ha!

Okay saw your Civil War header - nice.
I loved the way you kept trying. And the first picture of the green glass vase I liked too. You did a great job on the coffee too. Feel better. Sandie

I see you have had as much fun with yours as I have with mine. For the first one with the cup, it's easily fixed either by changing the white balance on your camera if you are using the manual setting or in photoshop by removing color cast.
I love the ones you took with natural light, they look great.
Thanks for the mention too

I really like your Civil War header. I also like your white box experiments, but now I'll have to look into making one so I can experiment.

So clever. That's my next "to do" item ... but I don't know where I'll put it when I'm done ... I live in an old house with no closets.
