You found some great pieces of history. I want that old cart, it would be great for my yard. The corn cob holder looks a little like a squirrel feeder I used to have but I suspect that one has a whole different meaning...THH!

Just lovely. I like the springs on the cart seat. I remember using a lawn mower like that and a desk like that. Time to put me in a museum.

Am I really that old? Some of these bring back memories. My Auntie had an old push mower like that and those school desks are like what I sat in for the first years. Yikes!!!

I remember having an old pusher mower like this one. Now we ride on our mower. I'd hate to think we had to mow our lawn today with one of these!

Fantastic...pictures. When my husband was a boy, he cut the neighbor's grass, for a whopping $2.00, with a blade more no horse power just boy power.

Funny story: Many years ago we decided to let a neighborhood boy cut our grass due to busy schedules. His fee was $20.00. When he came for his money, we paid him 20.00. He looked at my hubby and said I normally get a tip, to which my husband replied, your tip is don't ask for a tip. When I was your age I cut grass with a dull blade cuter for $2.00.

I recognize some of those old things...does that mean I'm old, too? Yep, I suspect it does. :D

You found some neat and beautiful miscellaneous items to share with us today. My Dad had a lawn mower like the one you pictured. It was real work to mow with that thing. I sat in desks like the ones you pictured for several years. Thanks for the memories.

Great pictures, Sandra... I recognized all of them... I sat in a desk just like that in elementary school...

I remember those 'luggage carts' at the train station when I was a little girl.

Remember a drinking fountain just like that..

Wouldn't it be nice if that old wagon would talk??? Lots of great stories there I'm sure.

Thanks for the memories.
Hugs,
Betsy

I love old things like this. The push mower is still sold in Oz.
I look at the cart and wonder about the people it has carried and the work it has done over many years.. Now it stands and rest, out to pasture so's to speak.. Wonderful times in years go by.

My great grandmother fell at 98 pushing her lawnmower - although it wasn't as rusty. LOL. I actually have shucked the corn and "posted" it AND we still had those desks through 3rd grade! My oh my, thanks for the memories MadSnapper! I love your blog and photos.

Nope, now words needed, but I sure loved every one of them. We actually had a wagon when I was a kid...that was pulled by our horse. I don't know what happened to it...wish I had been saved.
