When All Else Fails...

It's raining, it's pouring, so instead of snoring....???

Create Storm ART....

Debbie blew down 20 of our Avocado's so bring one inside and entertain myself while it rains.
5 AM UPDATE, 9 more Avocado's down last night, the wind is still howling and half our tree fell in the front yard...

Those are some real big rain drops!
The trash art is actually quite pretty but probably not to you and Bob when it's time to clean it up.

So I take it you have power to create this art form!

I saw your comment over at Madi's and just wanted to wish you luck with your ultra sound. Also, it sounds like you are not having any fun in that storm. Yikes that must be terrible. But those avacados sure look yummy. Hope they weren't all destroyed. Take care.

First time visiting and have scrolled down your photos - WOW - you take marvelous photos - that is quite the storm you had. I liked the photo of Guess What with the steel in it. I kinda thought it was a steel plate fastened to something, but rest I could not guess, so read the article. Neat.
Have a great day and I will drop back. Cheers

I'm not even tempted to say that I'm envious! We haven't had rain in weeks and need some. I'm bemoaning all those lost avocados and bananas! Keep safe.

Best,
Bonnie

You now have a beautiful new infinity pool, Sandra. My daughters pool looks the same.
I love your creative fruit art and header.

This storm has put you to work and taken bananas from you at least you're getting some pics out of it. :) My favorite is Baby by the pool. So good to see her! Stay safe!

I like your attitude. I think it is called making lemonade out of the lemons life hands you. We can't change the weather so taking pictures is a good way to pass the time.

Had to come here, first thing in blog land. Worried about you, of course. Thinking of how this having-to-be-mostly-inside, is messing with you-two's usual "FL Life Style." That of being outside, when you choose. -sigh-

I'm sure you two are creatures-of-habit too. We get "dis-com-bob-ulated" when we can't do our usual routine. -sigh-

You have your snapping-everything-project, anyway. Inside or outside. But... How is Bob doing, unable to go flying? And unable to start on all the cleanup work, that just keeps accumulating?

Gentle hugs...

I know it is a mess...but i'm so happy you are safe...

Friend Lynn --who is north of you said that they have also had alot of wind. BUT--it's a good thing that you all aren't getting all of that terrible flooding... NO FUN... Sorry about your avocados... Hope you can still eat them.... Will they ripen now????

We are desperate for rain here... But--we don't want any storms.
Hugs,
Betsy

good to know the damage is minimal but I know that does not stop the concerns for your safety. I see there will be alot of clean-up onces this is over. Hang on!

My goodness you have had it rough - first bananas and not avocados - can you eat all those? Sorry about that.

They look like beautiful avocados!

You do so good at not whining! But then I have told Roger before I either laugh or cry...so take your pick.

These are wonderful shots...

Hi Sandra, Could it rain anymore down there????? I have been watching the weather and thinking of you two. But matter what, I must say these are gorgeous photos. It would take more than buckets of rain to get "our Sandra" to not take pictures. Nice post. Hope things are better today. It will take three days to clean up all the mess.

I am so glad none of the trees fell on your house!!! The first picture with the rain, it is very impressive. Usually when rain is snapped, it is just a blur of lines, but you made it all these beautiful polka dots. How did you do that, was it fast motion setting?

Ginny Hartzler said...

Congratulations, sis!!! Though we have both been running neck and neck, YOU got to 200 before ME!

While it's not very nice of Debbie to be so destructive in your yard it's nice that she hasn't taken out power lines to cut you off from the internet. She sure is making a mess of things there but I'm glad to see you are finding ways to entertain yourself

George said...

It sounds as if Debbie is going to bring a lot more rain to your area. I hope you don't lose any more avocados, but I do like your storm art.

Hope it wasnt' too bad! Love the first shot of the rain :)

Wow that is a lot of rain...glad you can see art amongst the damage

Scott Law said...

Sorry you've got such a mess to clean up, but it looks like you still have a house and computer connection so I guess all is not lost, thank Heaven. I love avocados so I hate to see them go to waste.

Angela said...

Poor Jake! I'm sure he doesn't like seeing all of that mess outside and not being able to go out and stay out chasing lizards all day.

Inger said...

What a horrible storm this is. I think about you when I listen to the weather reports. I hope this is it and no more damage will be done to your fruit trees and property. Take care, OK.

I am so sorry about the avocado trees. (trees? or plants? I've never seen them growing!) You're wonderful to 'lemonade out of lemons,' so to speak. What a crazy lot of rain!

S. Etole said...

Been thinking of you as I read the reports of the heavy rain. Trust all will be well.

Lots to enjoy on this post: the fact you are safe, how creative you are with trash art; the cute self-portrait floating on the leaf and the tootsies in one of your storm still lifes or would that be still lives?

Cheryl @ TFD said...

I hope Debbie doesn't wreak too much havoc at your place! I hope the avocados will ripen and you can still use them. I see your tootsies in a couple pics! :) Take care.

Hope Debbie blows on out- I think I heard yesterday that some places in Florida had 2 feet of rain- WOW!

RoeH said...

Just got back into town and found out about your hurricane down there. Debby is it? Wow. We'd love all that rain here. Wish wish wish. Hope you and yours are alright.

Dee said...

I love your header photo...you are so talented....Debby was a nasty storm...sorry about your trees...I bet that howling sound was spooky. I hope your damage is not to extensive beyond the trees.

EG CameraGirl said...

So sorry the wind has caused this destruction!

How you can still make the best of the moment is remarkable! What a way to see a massive destructive storm!
Hop it get better soon.
